Interface Designer

Hi everyone,  I have created a domain specific link to an interface using a shared link. Staff can register with Airtable OK but the link wont work saying they are not authorised to access this page. The same happens when I do it by invitation. Is there something I’m missing? Any suggestions, even the most obvious, would be greatly appreciated.

Hi allI’m on the free Airtable tier and I’ve created a basic app to store data about the salamis I make as a hobby. There are several tables. The default interfaces pages are fine for my needs. Is there a way to create a basic homepage that shows when I open the airtable app on my phone that shows me a simple form that has a button to create a new salami, create a new daily measurement, daily PH test, new recipe etc?I have a form but can’t see how to have the buttons open a new form (ie open the Add Salami form) and I can’t see how to have it open by default, and I can’t see a way to have it show when I open the app or the Interface in the app. My guess is that within that is my answer.  But can anyone help?

How do I edit what date this filter defaults to? It's been the same default since I originally built the dashboard, but I would prefer to be able to edit this.  

As we can see in this graph Airtable Interface is not interpreting the numbers in an ascending order. It seems to only look at the first digit. I've tried to fix this issue in many different ways, but no luck.I need the graph to start in September and end in August (our FY)

Is there a way for me to get rid of the preceding "Sum:" in the interface graphs?  

Hi there,I have a customer who has developed his logistics management system. It has a well done system with interfaces and automations. He wants me to develop new functionalities, interfaces and automations, but I don't want to touch the system that is in production.What is the best way to do, clone the complete database, only the table and the affected interface. I have an interface that has worked properly for months. But in the last week or so, its behavior has changed so as to make the interface unusable. To demonstrate the issue with video, I've just made this greatly simplified version of it.The filter is tied to the element. When I enter a member number, any existing records linked to that member number should display (this still works). When I add a new record and link it to the member, it should be added to the displayed records (this has stopped working).What the video does not show is that if I look into the table, a new record has been created, but it is not linked. So it's as if the new record is being filtered out before I can even put anything into it. (If that's the case, why is it still letting me select a member - giving me the impression that I've linked the record?)I did nothing to change the configuration of the base or the interface (which was created with the Blank template). Do I need to use the portals add-on if I just want clients to see their interface as read-only (but with password access)?

Greetings! Wondering if any of you have come across something similar.How do I make two filter components in an Airtable interface work together? I have a simple list view with two filters at the top, but I want to improve how clients select options. I tried linking the filters, but they don’t cascade. The only workaround I can think of is defining the relationships in another table and using linked records. Any other suggestions?

Hello,I'm making a custom page for users to link a game session (record) to a player's game session field.I have two record pickers. One for the Player, and one for the Game Session. For the player selected in the Player Record Picker, I want to be able to assign their Game Session field the value from the Game Session Record Picker. I have added an update button and created a set action, but it's not a dynamic field. I cannot use the value from the Game Session Record Picker.How can I achieve this?

Is it possible to create a publicly accessible Interface whereby access to a given record is based on a unique string that is entered in by the end user? I have records (of students) and want an individual’s information accessible only be entering a unique string. Ideally, I wanted a field where you enter in a string and then gives access to one record along - can this be built out within airtable? Thank you all!

I have a default value of "not started" set for a single select "task status" field (see screenshot of field settings). In an interface, I'm using a button to create a new record from a Timeline view. The view has filters applied, which include filtering [records without "Completed" in that status field] OR [records with "Completed" in the status field AND Completed Dates within the past 7 days.] (see screenshot of filter settings)The new record form attached to the button also has "not started" selected as the default option for the task status field. (see screenshot of form settings)The problem is that when I click the button, the form defaults the task status to "completed" rather than "not started". I suspect it might have something to do with the filters applied to this timeline but I'm not sure. I'm using Airtable's Interface Designer to manage vehicle inventory, and I'm struggling to add more items to the side of an image (as shown in the screenshot). I'd like to display additional fields or components in the empty space to the right of the image, but I can't find a way to do it within the interface settings.

Hello - I'm fairly new to Airtable and I have a base with 5 tables, each table contains the schedule of a different project that I am tracking.  I want to create an interface calendar that displays milestones across the 5 projects, but I can only see how to source from one table.Is there a way to connect your interface to more than one table? I want to build a button in the Records Picker interface that public users can click on, and it pops up their email app with a specific subject. I know Airtable's HTML tag capabilities are limited but I want to embed something like this inside a button: "<a href="mailto:example@example.com?subject=Your%20Subject%20Here">Send Email</a>"Above is what it looks like to the user, but when they click on the red button, it should open up an email with the subject line pre-filled with this keyword. The goal is to have our customer service inbox to filter emails with this keyword as high priority. 

Hi community,Has anyone encountered the following issue and what may be causing it. I have a record - Unique prospects contacted in my database. The sum of all entries in this column is correct showing 18516In the designated Interface I have created a Number to illustrate it. I have now noticed this number is showing an incorrect valueI have not set any filters or exclusions. I even deleted the original Number and defined it from scratch but the output is the same. Has anyone encountered an issue as such and what did they find as a resolution. Is it something I am doing wrong 

I am building a complex workflow for a project-based business. In this workflow, if multiple customers are associated with a job, the job is duplicated for each customer (City Building 1, City Building 2). Furthermore, if multiple versions of the job are required by customer A, there might end up being City Building 1 and City Building 1.1, and then City Building 2. In the end, there will just be one job selected (ex: City Building 2). I know that comments copy over at the time a record is duplicated, but I'm wondering if there is a solution for somehow keeping all the comments for City Building together without a bunch of annoying copying and pasting. Sometimes there are addendums etc, in addition to the multiple versions of a job. Basically, I'm trying to preserve the historical record inside the record (rather than in email threads). I also don't want to just use a notes field because then users cannot @ each other...Is there another out-of-the-box solutio

I've been tasked to create an interface that serves as a self-help page for people who encounter common tech issues. I also want them to be able to rate whether the solution helped them, but seems when using record interface won't allow a public user to interact with the rating element even after making it editable. Everything else is working except this component. Is there a workaround for this? 

I would like to have 3 tabs for each page in my interface. I want Tab 1 to display fields A-M, Tab 2 to display fields N-Z, and Tab 3 to be "All collections" and display fields A-Z. Every time that I try to change the fields that are being displayed in the tab, it also applies those same changes to the other tabs.How do I display different fields for each tab in the same interface page?

How do I allow users to search / sort / group within the list view in Interfaces?If I first start with the List view using the Wizard, it doesn't allow give me an option to add levels. The only way I can do this is to start with a blank interface, then select List as an element to add.BUT when I do that, I don't have any options for users to search / sort / group.Am I missing something here? Why are there two different sets of options depending on how I select the List view?First screenshot from List Interface through wizard (no levels option), and second screen shot from adding List as an element on Blank template (no sort option).One additional frustrating thing is that the only way I see to add fields from a specific saved view is to use the List option from a blank template.

Why, oh why, do I not have control of how I order elements on a Dashboard interface? I want to put a list view first, at the top of the interface. There seems to be no way to do that. The first option to add is a count, then I can add bar graphs and pie charts, etc, and then lists and pivot tables have to go at the bottom. A list or pivot table can't be dragged to the top, nor the pie and bar graphs dragged below. This is a huge pain and I do not understand why there is no option to arrange elements the way I want them, the way they make the most sense. Am I missing something here? Doing something wrong?

Trying to get my dashboard interface to show a graph with multiple Y axis that links to a record picker. So far, I've only been able to get 1 Y axis, I can get multiple Y axis when I don't use a record picker though.  

I have a database with two separate tabs that are not related to each other:Projects Tab: This tracks projects, including their start and end dates.General Tasks Tab: This contains various tasks assigned to people only when they are not working on a project.Currently, I have an Interface with a Timeline View that displays the start and end dates of each project, grouped by person. This allows me to visualize the workload of each individual based on their assigned projects.I would like to enhance this Timeline by also including the information from the General Tasks tab. This way, I can see the complete workload of all team members, whether they are working on a project or handling general tasks.

Is it possible to add validation for linked record rows?I am using the Record Review layout to display data with a one-to-many relationship. I need to apply validation to ensure that the value is not empty and does not exceed a dynamically generated value.Is this possible in an Airtable interface?Thanks.

I am working on an interface to summarize project line items by vendor with the goal of seeing how much of each project order needs to be ordered from each vendor.  To do this, I am using the list interface and grouping line items by project and vendor.  In the interface, the only summary data shown at the vendor level is record count.  However, within the base, it gives you the option to show summary data for different columns (i.e. sum /average of column at lowest level).  Is this possible within the list interface?  Or would a different interface be more useful?
