Hi, I am trying to figure out why I keep getting this error message: The Impact Value is the average of the Confidentiality, Integrity and Availability column. (Confidentiality+Integrity+Availability)/3 The Risk Value should be multiplying the Impact Value with the Likelihood Value. But I am getting an error message with this basic formula {Impact Value}*{Likelihood Value} Please help.

I would like to ask the community for input and ideas on a problem I’m facing, which is: How can I track business travel expenses in a AirTable Interface (from Table: “Trip Tracker”) using receipt data from a different table (Table: “Expense Tracker”)? The table “Trip Tracker” is a kind of dashboard that lets me track the status of multiple items for every trip (dates, host, invoice amount, team members, etc.). I created an Airtable Interface that is very, very useful for me to keep status on trip details in a helpful presentation. The table “Expense Tracker” is going to have one record per expense, and keep track of all of the expenses for each trip so I can reimburse people, and bill clients. I would like to populate the “Trip Tracker” interface with a table (i.e., grid) of all of the expenses for the relevant trip from the “Expense Tracker” table. Suppose I am trying to grab some records from table 2 using a set of linked records from table 1 with an automation so I can show a list or gallery of these records in an email. For whatever reason no matter how I do it, Airtable will not let me use an autonumber field to do this. I’ve tried it both as a primary and non-primary field, I’ve tried using a formula, I even tried creating a formula that gets the record ID and then seeing if Find Records could find that (which resulted in an “unkown error”). I don’t know why any of this is the case when its essentially performing a sort of janky database join. I’d appreciate any suggestions for workarounds. If you are curious what exactly I need this for: I have a series of equipment reservations. I want to list the equipment details in an email detailing the reservation. The trigger needs to be a form on the reservation table.

Hello ! I’m new to airtable and struggling to write a formula that allows me to extract dates from a field. I have tried many different formulas found online but nothing matches my case. I have a SPRINT column that hosts in each field a set of dates: 2022-01-03, 2022-01-10, 2022-01-17… (can go up to 53 dates). I would like to extract from any of the fields in the SPRINT column the FIRST date (2022-01-03) and send it to another field in a new column named START. Then, extract from any of the fields in the SPRINT column the LAST date (2022-01-17) and send it to another field in a new column named END. Do you think that is possible and if so could you help me find out the correct formula ? Thanks !

Hi there! :grinning: Thanks in advance for taking the time to help me out. I’m new to airtable and I’m currently evaluating if I can use it for my small business to do the budgeting for my projects. I actually think what I’m looking for is too much of a spreadsheet functionality which isn’t supported by airtable as a database tool. But I would love to be wrong because it would make my life so much easier if it was possible: I’m trying to calculate the costs of each of my departments and usually just have a long list of items and staff. Some fields I need to be the percentage of the total costs (and update automatically if the total sum changes). For instance I would like to have a field with contingency costs of 5% of the total sum. Am I right assuming that there is no easy formula that can do that? And I would have to follow a complicated workaround with rollup fields and a linked table instead, because you can’t use summary values in formula fields? I feel like I’m really in a pick

Hey guys! I would like help to develop a formula that would give me the day “02” closest to the date of a specific field. For example: If in the {Purchase day} field the date is 02/25/2021, I would like the formula to show me 03/02/2021, if {Purchase day} is 05/14/2021, I would like the field show me 02/06/2021. I have an asset that is linked to an owner with a % holding and to many valuations. I want to view the data for a selected owner, with a current value of the asset calculated from that owner’s % multiplied by the LATEST valuation - ie from the valuation record with the latest date. Filtering is easy enough and rollup field looks promising but there seems no way to use the latest valuation record in the calculation. I need to select the person and then print or export the results that values their entire estate by combining latest asset valuation with % owned. Is a custom app needed (that feels unlikely given what I want to achieve would be trivial in SQL)? interfaces don’t seem to do it and views neither as far as I have been able to determine so far. It seems like something that would be used frequently but I’m in my first few hours with AirTable so a pointer to a help article would be great, thanks in advance!

Hi guys, in the spirit of Christimas I’m in charge of a support group for people in need. We have got a lot of applicants who really need our help to make sure their kids are going to get a gift this year. I’ve got a ton of gift cards in a single column in excel, and I’d like to distribute all the gift card codes to the recipients. Now here’s the kicker: the recipients have different amounts of kids, which means they need different amounts of giftcards. I’m trying to figure out an automation that links a number of times from the recipients sheet to the gift cards code sheet, while never linking to the same code more than once. The route I’d go would be to make a formula field which counts how many links are in a ‘link to an another record’ field, and if there’s less than the number of children in the family (a manual number field), then it keeps adding a new link from the gift card sheet. I share View links with different stakeholders so they can see records that fall under their department. I want to be able to have a View or some other easy to way to see what records they edited so I can review any changes that were made. Since they are typically making the edits after clicking on the link and not signing in, the Last Modified By usually shows as Anonymous. This has made it hard for me to filter since any records submitted through my form also show Anonymous. So I’m trying to find a way either to be able to specifically view edits made through the shared links or perhaps on the flip side make it so that records submitted through the form don’t show Anonymous for Last Modified By so those wouldn’t be populated using a filter showing Anonymous changes.

For video editing purposes, how can I input timecode into a field? The format could be either: H:MM:SS (hours:minutes:seconds) MM:SS (minutes:seconds) In the article Supported format specifiers for DATETIME_FORMAT I found “Preset timestamp format”, but that’s a timestamp. This is so simple, and yet no matter what I try, nothing works. :confused: I want the due date to be 2 days after the creation date. I’ve tried a hundred variations of: DATEADD({Created},+2,‘days’) …to no avail. What am I missing??

If I choose a record in the record picker that has information in a connected field and then choose another record where that field is empty, the information of the previously chosen record shows up. Any ideas?

I have a column which has multiple linked records as Contacts in. Then I have lookup fields for the contact information (email and phone number) for those linked records. I am trying to make another column as a concatenate formula which shows “{Contact Name 1}, {Email Address 1}, {Phone Number 1}”. But because I have multiple linked records in a column it is instead coming up as “{Contact Name 1}, {Contact Name 2} {Email Address 1}, {Email Address 2} {Phone Number 1}, {Phone Number 2}”. Is there a way in the formula for me to limit how the information populates by linked record vs information requested?

Since finding Airtable, we have been actively creating many apps to digitise our businesses. So far we pretty much have a base for each app. Some apps are for a specific company of ours, whilst some like HR and Tax/Assets are apps that apply to more than one of our companies. We use Stacker as the interface for most users. We have come to realise that there are some data that might make sense to be thier own base(s). Contact (suppliers, customers, staff, everyone any company comes into a transaction with) is one example. Products is another (things that all companies buys, and in some cases, maintain as assets). So, I would like some advice if it does make sense to create these two data sets as their own Bases and sync one-way to any destination base that needs/interacts with them. It would presumably mean that Contacts and Products become it’s own separate app, and anytime a new Contact or Product interacts with any of the other apps, a new record needs to first be created in th

Hello all, I’m trying to figure out a clean way of writing a formula for a Lookup table that can hold up to 4 variables at any time (A,B,C,D). Based on these variables, I want the formula output the following: IF(Lookup contains: “A or B or C or A,B or A,B,C” - in any given order), output “Inhouse”, but if D is also present, still output “Inhouse”. If only D is present, then output “Foreign”. Is there a clean way to write this? Thanks so much in advance!

The processing (or calculations) I need to perform are currently done in a Google Sheet. The calculations in the sheet are straightforward but have about 20 steps, and the final result is a string (an array) in a cell in the Google Sheet. I want that result in a cell back in AirTable. I am sure there’s a way to write a custom script with Javascript in an Automation and write result to the cell. I’ve started, but I’m not strong with JS. I would like to explore other more low/nocode ways do these calculations. I imagine there exists some other low/nocode SaaS tool that you can build a little black-box app with build business logic and calculations and spit out a result. I am trying to build a table for my husband’s business that will show the commission earned for each of his employees. He has a column for Grand Total of Sale, Salesperson Commission %, and Salesperson $. He would put in the Grand Total and the Salesperson commission percent but needs the Salesperson $ field to populate. I know this is a very easy formula for all of you but I am obviously new to this. I have a Timesheets base with a “Timesheets” table that is filled when my workers submit timesheets each month. I have a separate “Rates” table (in a different base) that is synced to my Timesheets base and table. In this Rates table, I have a list of rates connected to each of my referral partners, including a start and stop date. If they do not have a stop date then that rate is considered active, if it does have a stop date than that is not an active rate. My problem is that I am currently manually syncing the Rates table Referral partner to the Timesheet entry, and it’s too much work and error prone. Hi, I’m trying to update a record and select specific options in a multi-select field via Integromat and need some help. One of my preceding modules in Integromat gives me an array of destinations. Something like this: Destinations = [Africa, Asia, Australia and South Pacific, Central America and Caribbean, Europe, Middle East, North America, Polar Regions, South America] In Airtable I have a multi-select field with these exact options I referred to this thread, but can’t get Integromat to put the original multi-select values directly into the multi-select field as suggested by @ScottWorld. When I try this, I keep getting a “Cannot parse value for field Destination Options”. Hi beloved Airtable Community! I’ve got an issue with a VALUE formula. I have a Rollup field that does a ARRAYUNIQUE job from a Lookup Field which is formatted as a % (i.e. 36%). The output I get from the Rollup field is a string (i.e. 0.357142852346992). I tried various ways to convert it back to a number like: Within the formula of the Rollup, try VALUE(ARRAYUNIQUE(values)) Create a new formula field that performs VALUE(ROLLUP FIELD) But both outputs give me “#ERROR” I’ve read some articles about VALUE behavior but not sure to understand how it might help in that particular case. Hi All! So here is what I’d like to do. I have a base with four tables. All look precisely the same in terms of fields (types and names). For your understanding, the first three tables are lists with data about particular individuals. And the last table includes all individuals. My goal is to create a field on the fourth table that will let me know by the person’s “Name” (which is the first field) in which table he/she is located. But, some of the records repeat themselves in different tables, so I’d also like to know if the record is in “table1” and “table 2”. Thanks In Advance, -Bar.

I used similar method for fetching from API with JSON, or from simple html site parcing text, but here I can’t achieve desired goal.
