I have a view that is grouped by a single select field called Program Name. In this view I can see a count of records per Program Name. How can I create a script to give me a count of records grouped by program name? Ultimately I want to create an automation that will email me a summary of records by Program Name. I cannot do a linked field as the Program Name is a single select field chosen by a form.

Hi, I have a base that has two tables with linked records. Table1 fields : Name, Number, Sum (linked to table2) Table2 fields: Name, record, Table1, Total (roll up value of each category of name) This works beautifully manually, for every new record i create in Table1. But has been failing in automation. This is what I am doing: Trigger on new record creation: Note: in table 2 I have a row with unique “name” from table 1. In this action I am trying to find the record with name == name of the record created. And finally, Update the field “sum” in Table1 with the record found in previous step. The tests pass, but actually fails when a new record is created. Screenshot below. Apparently, it’s an invalid filter on the record. It appears simple and at this point I do not know how to fix it OR why it’s not working. Can any one assist in getting this to work please? Thank you.

I have an Object and two arrays: const arr = [1,2,3]; const arr2 = []; const obj = {}; obj.id = arr[0]; obj.fields = {}; obj.fields["Array items"] = arr; arr2.push(obj); console.log(arr2); //array contains 3 items as expected arr.length = 0; //empty array console.log(arr2); //array is empty As I understand the Object instance keeps only a pointer to the array. Is it possible with an Object to keep a copy of array contents and how to achive that? Thank you in advance.

I am experimenting with Webhooks to move data back and forth between bases. I just want to make sure what I am seeing/doing is necessary. When I setup a test POST from an external tool to test the webhook, any data elements defined the JSON are created as values in javascript editor. However, I would prefer to read the entire json object as new fields may become necessary. What I did was create an object that looked like this: { "theData" : "Anything" } I tested the webhook and “theData” was available to the script editor. I then created a more representative object like this: { "theData" : { "fieldOne" : "Some data", "fieldTwo" : "More data", "fieldThree" : "and even more data" } } This works fine and my code is working. Is this how I have to set it up? If I send the second structure as a test, the script editor forces me to select one of the nested fields. I cannot select the top level key. It’s not the worst thing to have to do but it does seem like a bit of an extra step.

Hi! I’m trying to make an automation that will notify me when an entered record shares a field with other entries within a certain time. Essentially, we track issue tags and want to know if there have been 3 issue tags in the same state within a two week period (the state and receipt date are tracked as fields on the issue tag). My thought is to make a formula that counts how many entries within the past two weeks share a state with the given entry, and make that the condition for the automation. My question is, what formula (or group of formulas) would I use to look at other entries? I can’t seem to find formulas that look anywhere except inside entry that the formula outputs on. If I can’t do it with formulas, is there an app that will help me? Thanks

I’m a casting director. I have a table of Artists with their info and I have a table of Shows. To each Show I can assign multiple artists (they are linked). But I also need to assign a specific role to each artist involved. The kinds of roles are different for every Show, each Artist may be part of multiple shows. It is easiest for me, conceptually, to enter info per Show: Title, Date, (Venue and 6 more fields of info), what artists are involved and what roles they play. I don’t want to enter Title, Date, etc. repeatedly for each Artist in the Show.

Hello, I am building a base where I list fabrics, a little bit like a catalogue and each product (one product=one record) and have a set a fields for each to provide information on the product. One important information is the price, however sometimes the price is in €, $ or ¥ and I want it to be a number field so I can filter according to a value. For example if someone wants to look for a fabric costing between $0 to $5. The problem is that those 3 currencies do not have the same values ($1=¥ 6.5), so I had to create 3 different fields for each currencies but it makes the table quite heavy and harder to read (since there is always an empty field). I am trying to find a way to display the price only in one field whatever the currency. I would like to be able input the price and chose the currency and both would be display in one field. I tried this one is : “enter the price here” (number field) one is : “chose currency here” (single select field) and the last one is a formula field

Hi! So I know there is an app to show how each field is connected. Where it will show if a field in one table is linked to a field in another table via a lookup or formula, ect. My database has a LOT of fields and tables, so I’m trying to consolidate some of the info and am digging into how everything is connected before deleting anything. My question is - is there anyway to see how the fields are currently being utilized in views for filters and groups, before deleting a field? I hope that makes sense! Thanks!!

I was wondering if someone was able to help me out. I am looking use a formula to calculate the amount of days until an item has to be renewed. What I would like is that when it’s nested within an IF statement it is calculated as a VALUE rather than a STRING. The reason for the IF statement is that when the Expiry Date is empty, no value will show in the “Days Remaining” Field. Here is the formula: IF({Passport (Expiry)}=BLANK(),’’, DATETIME_DIFF({Passport (Expiry)},TODAY(),‘days’)) I’m likely missing something really obvious in this regard.

Hello guys! I would like help to do a subtraction according to the values ​​that are being established. The situation is as follows: I work in credit format with my clients, so they start the month with 8 credits, as they request me, I establish the value in credits and these are consumed. Because of this situation, I would like to create 3 columns, 1 column “Cost in credits”, 1 column “Remaining credits” and 1 column “Total credits”. As I establish the cost of each material, I would like the column “Remaining credits” to be the result of “Total credits”-“Cost in credits”(for each row). I know Airtable has a different focus than spreadsheets, but the point is that I’m really enjoying the platform and I’d like to centralize as much activities as possible here, my company is just starting out, so splitting things across multiple platforms ends up messing up the flow of work. I’ve got everything up and running to edit fields with the <Input /> component and for anything other than text it works great e.g. function updateRecord (quote, recordFields) { quotesTable.updateRecordAsync(quote, recordFields) } <Input name="Hire Start" type="date" value={quote.getCellValue('Hire Start')} onChange={(e) => updateRecord(quote, {'Hire Start': e.target.value})} /> However, when the input type is text (or currency, anything that can be typed quickly), there’s a very noticeable delay in the update to the cell value which makes input glitchy and, if you type fast enough, inputs get dropped. I then switched to controlling the <Input /> with a state object, only writing back to Airtable in a useEffect() that watched the state object. Does Airtable allow to read the content within/ inside the documents/ attachments with its own APIs?

Use-case: As an airtable user/developer, I would like to invoke one custom script from multiple buttons within the same table and my custom script’s logic determines next steps to execute from the invoking button’s identifier. Does Airtable’s API (or workaround) currently support this functionality? I’d like to avoid creating multiple scripts for the same action and I’m not “there yet” as far as creating more robust custom apps. I attempted googling various phrasings of this question as well as referencing the Airtable help docs (and API docs) related to the custom button feature but could not find anything for certain so I thought I’d ask here!

Hello all, I want to display my Event Start Time and Event End Time as ISO 8601 format. I need it in this format so that when I export the csv and import into Adalo (no code app builder) that it will accept the time and date format correctly. The “Local Start Time” field is the airtable user’s local time. They input the time there, then select the Event time zone. The “Event Time Zone” field has a formula to show the correct time in that time zone. I want to also create a column to show the “Event Time Zone” in ISO 8601 format and with the correct UTC offset. I need this because I need to export this airtable and import it into Adalo as a csv. I saw a user “Kuovonne” do something similar, but I can’t figure out the formula to get the correct format and utc offset. This is the output that Kuovonne showed that I am looking for.

I have a list of single-select options that I would like to clean up without causing any records to have an empty single select status. For example, I would like to delete “sketching” and convert all instances of “sketching” to “researching” (these options can be found towards the bottom of the list in the image). That way, when I delete “sketching”, no record will have an empty single select field, and all records that had “sketching” will turn into “researching”. Is this possible? Thanks :sunflower:

Hello Airtablers, In my base I have a growing list of contacts with links to other tables such as their company/organization and the state the contact is in. I’m now starting to include the cities and states linked to the company/organizations’ headquarters as well. The issue is that so far I’ve just had a table with 50 states plus territories, but now I have companies that are headquartered in other countries I’m thinking i’ll have to create another table of countries? Or just create a new field for countries in the current organizations table? Also worth noting that I just want the HQ city info to be a simple text field. I currently use Stacker to create a front end application linked to my Airtable base and I’m not sure how to structure this update to my base so that I can keep my linked table of US states from getting cluttered with foreign states. Any ideas/thoughts are welcome!

I’m working on an app that needs to filter the table in some way. It doesn’t look like there is a way to update the filters in the app. Is this correct?

Hello everyone! I am trying to get an array of unique items which are objects of two keys {id: "record ID", name: "name of record"} To filter out duplicate items I use rather complicated way. I define 3 arrays: one for keeping collected data possibly having duplicates and later for cleaned data two others for keeping filtered ids and names Code looks like this: let d = []; let u = []; let v = []; d = [{id:1, name:"a"},{id:3, name:"b"},{id:3, name:"b"}]; console.log(d); u = [...new Set(d.map(d => d.id))]; v = [...new Set(d.map(d => d.name))]; d = []; let m = 0; while (m < u.length){ d[m] = {id:u[m],name:v[m]}; m++ } console.log(d); As you can see I am using a Set to filter out duplicates. Unfortunately, this works only for simpler arrays (or I do not know how to use it in my case). Is there any easier or brief way to do that? Any valuable suggestion is much appreciated.

Hi There, I have a base that automatically date stamps when something moves through my content funnel. I would like to find a way to automatically count the number of date stamps for each month. My leads are sorted by status: First Contact, Initial & Follow Up, CAM Meeting and Play Session. When I change a leads status it automatically puts a date into the below fields so I can see how many reached each point, each month. I would like to have it so another field automatically counts how many date stamps there are in each month. For example, if I had 16 'First Contact leads and thus date stamps (as with the above image) in November, it automatically put it into the below table: Any help would be appreciated, thanks!

I’m trying to use Tailwind CSS with Airtable, but I’m not quite sure how to properly integrate the CSS. For context, I’m an experienced backend developer but my frontend experience consists of simple HTML and building simple React components. I know little about different frontend build systems. I know that it’s possible to import Tailwind from the CDN, but my understanding is that requires an HTML view to add the <a> tag that handles the import. Since Airtable doesn’t expose the HTML, I’m unsure if that is possible. Does anyone know of a very simple guide that walks through creating an Airtable app with Tailwind (or any custom CSS), bundling/building it if necessary, and uploading it to Airtable?

Can a form respondent receive a copy of their form data? Can a form respondent subsequently edit their form data? I haven’t found a way to do either, so if there is a way, please point me to it :slightly_smiling_face: Many thanks for your help, Julie

I have seen several topics similar to mine but have been unable to get this automation working. My goal is to send an email per record in my summary table at the time defined in the “At a scheduled time” trigger. Each record contains, among other fields: 1) Name, 2) Email Address, 3) Lookup field with a list of items, e.g. “item 1, item 2, item 3”. So, the list of items would be different for each record. At the scheduled time I want to send one email per record to the Email Address field and include the list of items in the lookup field. I was using a Find action to locate all records in my table that have linked records, and therefore have values in the lookup field (using a view to find records). But when I preview my email, I see all the values of all linked records concatenated together, as well as all the email addresses concatenated together. I was hoping for one email per record with values from that record.
