I have a field that is an entry field and that is part of a rather complicated page design, where I need to be able to trim away and spaces at the end of an entry as sometimes the user ads a whitespace I guess out of habit. Is this possible? I’ve been playing around with the TRIM() and SUBSTITUTE(), but I have a hard time finding a solution that’ll apply just to the end of the entry? I’ve tried this, but it dosen’t get rid of the white space at the end IF(RIGHT({Alcantara},1)=" ", LEFT({Alcantara}, FIND(' ', {Alcantara}, LEN({Alcantara})-1), {Alcantara} )

Hello Friends! I’ve been getting very excited by the Gantt view! Especially the ability to push tasks and have all of the following tasks push with it. Is it possible to pull all of the following tasks when pulling tasks backwards? Or a way to update a set of records to have no “dead” space between tasks? Thank you! Paul Warren

Hey everyone, here’s an advanced question: We have 4 AirTable bases, all of which have their own version of a table called “Sales”. I am currently centralizing the 4 different Sales tables by creating a 5th base which has the other 4 tables synced to it (via sharing the views with no filters). Let’s call this the Central Base. What we need to do now is to take specific columns for all 4 tables synced to the Central Base, and put them in a new table called “Central Sales”. Here’s an idea of how it would look like: So the “Client” column on all 4 other Sales tables would feed the “Client” column on the Central Sales table. This is what I don’t know how to do. Does the requirement make any sense? And if so, how would you do it? Thank you very much in advance

In our base, users can trigger an automation via a checkbox. When the box is checked, the automation creates a linked record in a different table and populates the fields with various text, form links, etc. The problem is if a user does the following we get duplicate linked records: checks the box…waits until the automation finishes unchecks the box rechecks the box, now for a second time How can we either prevent a duplicate linked record from being generated, can the automation check if a linked record exists before proceeding? Or is there a better trigger we can use that is one-directional, meaning it can only create the linked records once? I was able to do this with a button + scripting app, however they are not usable in Interfaces which is where we’re applying this functionality.

Hello there! I was just reaching out to see if there was a chance that someone, literally anyone can provide me with a BMI formula, please! I am trying to calculate BMI using height in inches and weight in pounds, and I’ve been searching for weeks for one that works, but it never accepts it. I’ve seen many articles and tips on conditional logic, but I don’t need it to tell me whether or not they’re overweight, I just need the actual BMI number. I’ve exhausted my personal and searchable resources, and since I’m also pretty new to this, when I DO find a formula that I think may work, I have trouble converting it from kg and meters or centimeters… I would be VERY grateful for a formula that I can copy and paste into the formula spot. Hello to the community, And happy 2022 for everyone who reads this topic :winking_face: Maybe I’m the only one to face this situation but I’ve created a pretty simple formula field which should provide a simple 1/0 boolean answer based on 3 conditions. One of those conditions is if one linked field to another table (Order_ID) is still blank/empty. IF(AND({Payment Status}!=“paid”,Order_ID=BLANK(),REGEX_MATCH(Email, “(\W|^)[\w.\-]{0,25}@[A-Za-z0-9.-]+\.[A-Za-z]{2,}(\W|$)”)=1),1,0) Guess what ? It doesn’t work. I’ve also tested the NOT(Order_ID) based on what I’ve read and it doesn’t work either BUT it works on a separate formula cell (see below the second line) : Other 2 conditions work perfectly. I assume this is due to the structure of a linked record by itself but I’m not sure. Thank you for your help. Best, Y

Hi! I’ve just started using Airtable, and I had a question about using an automation to change something. Right now, I would like for my completion date field to change to the current date/time once the state field is changed to “done”, but the only trigger that is there in the automation menu would trigger regardless of what the state has changed to. Would there be a way to do this with automations or would I have to find an alternate way to execute this?

Individuals in my organization have shared some bases with me which show up in the Bases Shared With Me workspace, but I would like to move them to different Workspaces that correspond with the topic of the shared bases. I do not see how to move a Based from Shared With Me to other workspaces.

Since a few days, all my items in calendar view are viewed as a one hour item. Even if they were noted for a longer duration before. Usually I could extend the duration by drag the item at the bottom. This is now impossible. There is an end date and time set, but even with an end time longer as an hour noted, the item stays as one hour. In the expand view I can see the end time and it’s longer than one hour. This is most annoying since some items have a duration of a whole day, and I need to see that so I know that I can’t plan anything else that day.

Hey Community! I am working on multiple DBs for integrating clients into a shared DB universe. I am working on a menu ordering system for a ghost kitchen. Is there a way to update the form UI to include the relevant information from the record. Right now for an external user it only shows the formula ID(menu category, size, price) It excludes the descriptor and other relevant info we may attempt to include (photos from a gallery view) Any advice? Hello, I have 1 single select field called “Status”. This Status field has the following options: Awaiting Information (Outreach 1) Awaiting Information (Outreach 2) Awaiting Information (Outreach 3) On Hold Each of these options has its own date field connected to an automation that date-stamps when the option is selected in Status. Outreach 1 Date Outreach 2 Date Outreach 3 Date On Hold Date I need 1 formula that returns a date with the following considered: If Status = Awaiting Information (Outreach 1), add “2” business days to Outreach 1 Date. If Status = Awaiting Information (Outreach 2), add “2” business days to Outreach 2 Date. If Status = Awaiting Information (Outreach 3), add “3” business days to Outreach 3 Date. If Status = On Hold, add “30” business days to On Hold Date. Hi all! I’m trying to create a %Complete column in a project table that includes several single-select fields used to track 1. whether or not a particular team has tasks associated with the project, and 2. what that team’s progress is on those tasks if so. I’m thinking what I need to do is create a formula column for each one of these, assigning a number to the values selected, a column that totals these up, and a column that calculates the % complete by dividing the total complete by the total that needs to be complete. Maybe use the SWITCH formula to assign numeric values? I just don’t know how to set up conditional formulas that complex at this point. Can anyone help me? Thanks very much!

I want to sync two tables to another base. If I sign up for Pro and decide to go back to Plus or Free what happens to my data? In the destination I would have two synced tables and one other table. In that third table, I would be linking data from the sync tables. Will the data in the 3rd table that came from those synced tables disappear if I downgrade? Or will the sync tables still be there with data, just unable to sync anything new to them? Thanks, Stacey

Thank you so very much for your kind help!! I’m hours deep into trying to figure this out and feel like I’m stranded on a raft in the middle of the ocean with no land in sight. Here’s my head-scratcher… In one base, we have 4 tables. The first 4 cells in every record are identical across all 4 tables. After that, the field types and data changes for the remainder of the record. (We do production, so it’s the same 4 product details for each record on every table, and the different tables break down tasks for the same product at its 4 different phases of development.) What I want to happen is that on the first table, when I enter new data in the first 4 cells, that same data is automated to magically appear on the next 3 tables. The reasons I’m going mildly nuts: What should I set the automation at so that whenever I enter new data into the first 4 cells they automatically populate on the next 3 tables? I’ve imported a CSV where one of the columns contains 2 dates. Like this: 8/23/21 - 11/6/21 In order for me to create a time line I’m thinking I need to create 2 additional fields (one for each date). I know I need to use FIND to tell the formula to find the “-” and work from there, I just don’t know how. Can some one please help me?

Hello All! Sorry for the extremely general topic… but I feel like I might be missing something… I have a team of employees and we work in a distribution business. I am trying to create a unified platform so that my employees can enter information regarding quotes and pricing. I am somewhat familiar with database structure, so the mechanics of creating the application are fairly clear to me. The piece that I feel I am missing is this: Is there a way to create a user-friendly input method without giving users access to all of the backend mechanics? My concern is (from past experience), users will tend to enter things in the wrong fields or overwrite data accidentally. Other applications I have used (AppSheet, most recently), separate the backend data from the UX components. Is there something similar with Airtable? Good Day! I was wondering if I could get some help with a scenario: In the scenario a particular individual could have multiple records linked to them within another table. In the scenario let’s use contracts as an example. 1 individual could have multiple contracts with start and end dates, along with an attachment. In the “Master” table we can quite easily look up the Start and End Dates based on a MAX(VALUE), but my question is this: How would I go about linking THAT SPECIFIC contract to the given dates without showing all other contracts?

I have the Pro Plan via a recent upgrade. Previously under this Pro Plan I added and used the Nobull app. Today I discovered that the Nobull app is deactivated. When I try to add it again, I am told “This app is available on the Pro Plan” and that an upgrade is required. I have encountered the same issue when trying to add another app. I understand that this post is a support request best sent via a direct contact to Airtable. I’m creating a custom app which uses a date input field. My computer clock is set to GMT+2, ie my time is 2 hours later than GMT. When I toggle the GMT setting on the date field, the local time appears 2 hours behind the GMT time when using record.getCellValue: Local date time (GMT setting off): ‘2022-01-01T10:04:00.000Z’ GMT date time (GMT setting on): ‘2022-01-01T12:04:00.000Z’ I can’t understand why the local time is earlier than gmt when it should be later. Also, I can’t understand why the local datetime string is being formatted as a utc datetime string, as this doesn’t follow ISO8601. When I use record.getCellValueAsString, it returns the string ‘1/1/2022 12:04pm’, regardless of the gmt setting. I notice that the datetime string returned by the REST API seems to change in the same way as record.getCellValue, even though the docs say that only a utc datetime string is returned. Any help/insights appreciated.

I’m trying to use DATETIME_FORMAT to format a date calculated by a formula to the way I want it to be displayed. I have to use DATETIME_FORMAT rather than the settings button because I’m inserting it into an automated email, which defaults to YYYY-MM-DD format instead of the settings. It seems like this should be possible but I keep getting an error. Here’s my current formula: DATETIME_FORMAT((DATEADD(TODAY(),14, “days”), ‘DD-MM-YYYY’) The center formula DATEADD(TODAY(),14, “days”) works properly on its own, so I know it’s something about adding the formatting piece. Is it possible to do this in one formula?

Hi everyone, Please advise how to create a formula for a field (let’s call it “CityCount”), which would automatically display the number of records in this table which have the same value in the field “City” as a current record? Here is an example: there are 3 records in the table with City=London, thus each of the record should have CityCount=3. If I add one more record with City=London, then each of such records would get updated with field CityCount=4. Any help or ideas appreciated!
