The processing (or calculations) I need to perform are currently done in a Google Sheet. The calculations in the sheet are straightforward but have about 20 steps, and the final result is a string (an array) in a cell in the Google Sheet. I want that result in a cell back in AirTable. I am sure there’s a way to write a custom script with Javascript in an Automation and write result to the cell. I’ve started, but I’m not strong with JS. I would like to explore other more low/nocode ways do these calculations. I imagine there exists some other low/nocode SaaS tool that you can build a little black-box app with build business logic and calculations and spit out a result. I am trying to build a table for my husband’s business that will show the commission earned for each of his employees. He has a column for Grand Total of Sale, Salesperson Commission %, and Salesperson $. He would put in the Grand Total and the Salesperson commission percent but needs the Salesperson $ field to populate. I know this is a very easy formula for all of you but I am obviously new to this. I have a Timesheets base with a “Timesheets” table that is filled when my workers submit timesheets each month. I have a separate “Rates” table (in a different base) that is synced to my Timesheets base and table. In this Rates table, I have a list of rates connected to each of my referral partners, including a start and stop date. If they do not have a stop date then that rate is considered active, if it does have a stop date than that is not an active rate. My problem is that I am currently manually syncing the Rates table Referral partner to the Timesheet entry, and it’s too much work and error prone. Hi, I’m trying to update a record and select specific options in a multi-select field via Integromat and need some help. One of my preceding modules in Integromat gives me an array of destinations. Something like this: Destinations = [Africa, Asia, Australia and South Pacific, Central America and Caribbean, Europe, Middle East, North America, Polar Regions, South America] In Airtable I have a multi-select field with these exact options I referred to this thread, but can’t get Integromat to put the original multi-select values directly into the multi-select field as suggested by @ScottWorld. When I try this, I keep getting a “Cannot parse value for field Destination Options”. As you can see from the image above, I am using an iterator to iterate through each value in the Array and pass on the Update Airtable Record module hoping that on each iteration, the next item from the Array, i.e. one destination at a time, will get ‘checked’ in the multi-select field in Airtable. Hi beloved Airtable Community! I’ve got an issue with a VALUE formula. I have a Rollup field that does a ARRAYUNIQUE job from a Lookup Field which is formatted as a % (i.e. 36%). The output I get from the Rollup field is a string (i.e. 0.357142852346992). I tried various ways to convert it back to a number like: Within the formula of the Rollup, try VALUE(ARRAYUNIQUE(values)) Create a new formula field that performs VALUE(ROLLUP FIELD) But both outputs give me “#ERROR” I’ve read some articles about VALUE behavior but not sure to understand how it might help in that particular case. Hi All! So here is what I’d like to do. I have a base with four tables. All look precisely the same in terms of fields (types and names). For your understanding, the first three tables are lists with data about particular individuals. And the last table includes all individuals. My goal is to create a field on the fourth table that will let me know by the person’s “Name” (which is the first field) in which table he/she is located. But, some of the records repeat themselves in different tables, so I’d also like to know if the record is in “table1” and “table 2”. Thanks In Advance, -Bar.

I used similar method for fetching from API with JSON, or from simple html site parcing text, but here I can’t achieve desired goal. Hi, I’m looking to set up automations to remind me of due dates. I was using a datetimediff formula, but it says NaN. I want to take todays date-the due date and have it show how many days until the due date, then I was going to schedule an automation to send out whenever tasks are due in 3 days or less. Hi there! I’m not sure what the best solution is here and I would love your input. My company writes books for service professionals who want to help more people and gain credibility/visibility. We (I say we, it’s just me right now) use the same process for writing the book for every client. This process is date-dependent and everything is dependent on several things that come before it. Eventually, we will be adding more writers and assigning them to different clients’ projects. I have created a template of the process and I enjoy looking at it in the Gantt view. Very satisfying. My first question is: Do you think I should just create a separate base for each client or can I put all the clients in one base, potentially having 5-10 of the same process happening at any given time? Ideally, I’d like to see all the client’s projects in one view so I can see where we are, who is doing what, where there are any delays and what needs to get done in one view. How would I do that? Hi Dear, I try to create a table for Calls (duration, caller name, description, some statistic data about the caller (sex, age, location)). I have another table with Regular callers, who calls us frequently, with all the their statistics (sex, age, location). In the Calls table there is a linked field to choose the regular caller. I would like that if I choose a regular caller all the statistic data I already recorded in the regular caller table to be copied in the Calls table. But lookup fields are not good solutions for this, because if the caller is not a regular one (regular caller field is blank) I need to give these statistics here manually. In case of lookup the system does not allow it. Is there a solution for this? Thanks a lot Tamás

I have a view that is grouped by a single select field called Program Name. In this view I can see a count of records per Program Name. How can I create a script to give me a count of records grouped by program name? Ultimately I want to create an automation that will email me a summary of records by Program Name. I cannot do a linked field as the Program Name is a single select field chosen by a form.

Hi, I have a base that has two tables with linked records. Table1 fields : Name, Number, Sum (linked to table2) Table2 fields: Name, record, Table1, Total (roll up value of each category of name) This works beautifully manually, for every new record i create in Table1. But has been failing in automation. This is what I am doing: Trigger on new record creation: Note: in table 2 I have a row with unique “name” from table 1. In this action I am trying to find the record with name == name of the record created. And finally, Update the field “sum” in Table1 with the record found in previous step. The tests pass, but actually fails when a new record is created. Screenshot below. Apparently, it’s an invalid filter on the record. It appears simple and at this point I do not know how to fix it OR why it’s not working. Can any one assist in getting this to work please? Thank you.

I am experimenting with Webhooks to move data back and forth between bases. I just want to make sure what I am seeing/doing is necessary. When I setup a test POST from an external tool to test the webhook, any data elements defined the JSON are created as values in javascript editor. However, I would prefer to read the entire json object as new fields may become necessary. What I did was create an object that looked like this: { "theData" : "Anything" } I tested the webhook and “theData” was available to the script editor. I then created a more representative object like this: { "theData" : { "fieldOne" : "Some data", "fieldTwo" : "More data", "fieldThree" : "and even more data" } } This works fine and my code is working. Is this how I have to set it up? If I send the second structure as a test, the script editor forces me to select one of the nested fields. I cannot select the top level key. It’s not the worst thing to have to do but it does seem like a bit of an extra step.

Hi! I’m trying to make an automation that will notify me when an entered record shares a field with other entries within a certain time. Essentially, we track issue tags and want to know if there have been 3 issue tags in the same state within a two week period (the state and receipt date are tracked as fields on the issue tag). My thought is to make a formula that counts how many entries within the past two weeks share a state with the given entry, and make that the condition for the automation. My question is, what formula (or group of formulas) would I use to look at other entries? I can’t seem to find formulas that look anywhere except inside entry that the formula outputs on. If I can’t do it with formulas, is there an app that will help me? Thanks

I’m a casting director. I have a table of Artists with their info and I have a table of Shows. To each Show I can assign multiple artists (they are linked). But I also need to assign a specific role to each artist involved. The kinds of roles are different for every Show, each Artist may be part of multiple shows. It is easiest for me, conceptually, to enter info per Show: Title, Date, (Venue and 6 more fields of info), what artists are involved and what roles they play. I don’t want to enter Title, Date, etc. repeatedly for each Artist in the Show.

Hello, I am building a base where I list fabrics, a little bit like a catalogue and each product (one product=one record) and have a set a fields for each to provide information on the product. One important information is the price, however sometimes the price is in €, $ or ¥ and I want it to be a number field so I can filter according to a value. For example if someone wants to look for a fabric costing between $0 to $5. The problem is that those 3 currencies do not have the same values ($1=¥ 6.5), so I had to create 3 different fields for each currencies but it makes the table quite heavy and harder to read (since there is always an empty field). I am trying to find a way to display the price only in one field whatever the currency. I would like to be able input the price and chose the currency and both would be display in one field. I tried this one is : “enter the price here” (number field) one is : “chose currency here” (single select field) and the last one is a formula field

Hi! So I know there is an app to show how each field is connected. Where it will show if a field in one table is linked to a field in another table via a lookup or formula, ect. My database has a LOT of fields and tables, so I’m trying to consolidate some of the info and am digging into how everything is connected before deleting anything. My question is - is there anyway to see how the fields are currently being utilized in views for filters and groups, before deleting a field? I hope that makes sense! Thanks!!

I was wondering if someone was able to help me out. I am looking use a formula to calculate the amount of days until an item has to be renewed. What I would like is that when it’s nested within an IF statement it is calculated as a VALUE rather than a STRING. The reason for the IF statement is that when the Expiry Date is empty, no value will show in the “Days Remaining” Field. Here is the formula: IF({Passport (Expiry)}=BLANK(),’’, DATETIME_DIFF({Passport (Expiry)},TODAY(),‘days’)) I’m likely missing something really obvious in this regard.

Hello guys! I would like help to do a subtraction according to the values ​​that are being established. I’ve got everything up and running to edit fields with the <Input /> component and for anything other than text it works great e.g. function updateRecord (quote, recordFields) { quotesTable.updateRecordAsync(quote, recordFields) } <Input name="Hire Start" type="date" value={quote.getCellValue('Hire Start')} onChange={(e) => updateRecord(quote, {'Hire Start': e.target.value})} /> However, when the input type is text (or currency, anything that can be typed quickly), there’s a very noticeable delay in the update to the cell value which makes input glitchy and, if you type fast enough, inputs get dropped. I then switched to controlling the <Input /> with a state object, only writing back to Airtable in a useEffect() that watched the state object. This solved the issue but now updates made in Airtable (outside of the app) are of course not reflected in th

Does Airtable allow to read the content within/ inside the documents/ attachments with its own APIs?

Use-case: As an airtable user/developer, I would like to invoke one custom script from multiple buttons within the same table and my custom script’s logic determines next steps to execute from the invoking button’s identifier. Does Airtable’s API (or workaround) currently support this functionality? I’d like to avoid creating multiple scripts for the same action and I’m not “there yet” as far as creating more robust custom apps. I attempted googling various phrasings of this question as well as referencing the Airtable help docs (and API docs) related to the custom button feature but could not find anything for certain so I thought I’d ask here!
