Hello All! Sorry for the extremely general topic… but I feel like I might be missing something… I have a team of employees and we work in a distribution business. I am trying to create a unified platform so that my employees can enter information regarding quotes and pricing. I am somewhat familiar with database structure, so the mechanics of creating the application are fairly clear to me. The piece that I feel I am missing is this: Is there a way to create a user-friendly input method without giving users access to all of the backend mechanics? My concern is (from past experience), users will tend to enter things in the wrong fields or overwrite data accidentally. Other applications I have used (AppSheet, most recently), separate the backend data from the UX components. Is there something similar with Airtable? Do I need to use a 3rd party application in order for users to enter / interact with data? I have tried using the “Interfaces”, which are very nice, but my understandin

Good Day! I was wondering if I could get some help with a scenario: In the scenario a particular individual could have multiple records linked to them within another table. In the scenario let’s use contracts as an example. 1 individual could have multiple contracts with start and end dates, along with an attachment. In the “Master” table we can quite easily look up the Start and End Dates based on a MAX(VALUE), but my question is this: How would I go about linking THAT SPECIFIC contract to the given dates without showing all other contracts?

I have the Pro Plan via a recent upgrade. Previously under this Pro Plan I added and used the Nobull app. Today I discovered that the Nobull app is deactivated. When I try to add it again, I am told “This app is available on the Pro Plan” and that an upgrade is required. I have encountered the same issue when trying to add another app. I understand that this post is a support request best sent via a direct contact to Airtable. I did so, but hoping for any comments as I await Airtable’s response. Thanks!

I’m creating a custom app which uses a date input field. My computer clock is set to GMT+2, ie my time is 2 hours later than GMT. When I toggle the GMT setting on the date field, the local time appears 2 hours behind the GMT time when using record.getCellValue: Local date time (GMT setting off): ‘2022-01-01T10:04:00.000Z’ GMT date time (GMT setting on): ‘2022-01-01T12:04:00.000Z’ I can’t understand why the local time is earlier than gmt when it should be later. Also, I can’t understand why the local datetime string is being formatted as a utc datetime string, as this doesn’t follow ISO8601. When I use record.getCellValueAsString, it returns the string ‘1/1/2022 12:04pm’, regardless of the gmt setting. I notice that the datetime string returned by the REST API seems to change in the same way as record.getCellValue, even though the docs say that only a utc datetime string is returned. Any help/insights appreciated.

I’m trying to use DATETIME_FORMAT to format a date calculated by a formula to the way I want it to be displayed. I have to use DATETIME_FORMAT rather than the settings button because I’m inserting it into an automated email, which defaults to YYYY-MM-DD format instead of the settings. It seems like this should be possible but I keep getting an error. Here’s my current formula: DATETIME_FORMAT((DATEADD(TODAY(),14, “days”), ‘DD-MM-YYYY’) The center formula DATEADD(TODAY(),14, “days”) works properly on its own, so I know it’s something about adding the formatting piece. Is it possible to do this in one formula?

Hi everyone, Please advise how to create a formula for a field (let’s call it “CityCount”), which would automatically display the number of records in this table which have the same value in the field “City” as a current record? Here is an example: there are 3 records in the table with City=London, thus each of the record should have CityCount=3. If I add one more record with City=London, then each of such records would get updated with field CityCount=4. Any help or ideas appreciated!

My issue is that the API secret key needs to be encrypted when I send the request but this requires Crypto-js. Hi all, I use the phone field a lot in my tabs but I don’t live in the US and so what I get is a very odd and inconvenient formatting of my clients phone numbers. For instance I want to call a french number which should be formatted as follow : 06 01 23 45 67 it shows in Airtable as (060) 123 45-67. When I’m using the app on my phone I can just click but I’m also making a lot of calls from my office. So I manually type numbers and the formatting is very distracting and I always have to double check before making a call. My collaborators have the same problem and while it doesn’t look like much it adds up to a lot of lost time. Is there a way to change the number formatting ? My iphone does it automatically as I type numbers in so i’m a bit surprised that I can’t do it on Airtable. Thanks for your input.

Hi! I have a sort of complicated situation and I’ve been able to figure out what i need to do, but not the way to actually accomplish it. I have a base with three tables in it: Jotform (A) | Supplies (B) | Split Requests (C) Table A is bringing in responses, Table B is a list of every unique item that has been requested in the jotform, and Table C is where I will split up requests with multiple items in Table A to separate ones. In the Jotform, people can select multiple items in one form submission. even though someone might send in one form submission, that submission might include 50+ items. The jotform takes the info for each item (data points like item,qty,notes) and separates them by comma, and each item by a line break. that’s my way in with parsing out the data. I need to take a cell that might say: Apples,50,red apples Apples,49,granny smith Peaches,23 Oranges,44 and split that into separate requests in Table C. then i need to link that record back to the original record in Ta

I am creating a task list template that has certain tasks that need to be completed 20 days prior to event, 14 days prior to event, 12 days prior to event, 2 days after the event, 7 days after the event, and so on. I’d love to be able to pop in the Event Date and it autopopulate real calendared DUE Dates based on those parameters so that I can use it over and over for each new event without manually typing in each due date for every single task, but am struggling to figure this out. Can someone please assist me? I am new to airtable and watching lots of tutorials!

I am wondering if its possible to add a column to my table that only I can see but when the table is viewed when its embedded on my website no one else can see it. I am trying to eliminate the use to my second spread sheet for details my customers don’t need to see in their order.

One part of my script asks the user for a value like this: let SessionPrice = await input.textAsync (‘Input price per coaching session’); Then I’m trying to insert that value on a currency field with: Let CreateField = await MainTable.createRecordsAsync([{Fields:{“UnitPrice”: SessionPrice}]); And I get the error: j: Can’t create records: invalid cell value for field ‘UnitPrc’. Cell value has invalid format: must be a number I guess its because its a ‘text’ string and I don’t know how to convert it or make it a ‘currency’. In advances I’ll appreciate your help. Thanks…

Can I use integromat to change the filter settings of one particular view? I use different views to trigger certain integromat scenarios and it would be great to be able to trigger or turn off scenarios via integromat changing the filer settings of an individual view. Question: How can I capture how long a record has spent in a Single Select field option throughout its lifecycle? Field Information: Field Type: Single Select Field Name: Status Field Option: “Awaiting Information” Context: Record enters table (Status automatically changes to “In Progress” through automation). User changes Status to “Awaiting Information” when appropriate. When user is finished, they change the Status to “Complete”. Goal: I want to see how long we are waiting on other people for (on average) when fulfilling these requests. I wasn’t sure if this was a formula or automation question. Thanks!

What I want to do is produce this same information showing only the month. Hi! How to determine the number of records / entries in a table via API using curl / php / pyton? Imagine a table with 12304 entries. Our current stumbling block is the API limit: we can only get 100 entries at a time via the API using PHP. In this regard, we have to make a lot of requests page by page. Then count the number of pages and multiply them by 100. Is there a more elegant way? Thank you!

(Confidentiality+Integrity+Availability)/3 The Risk Value should be multiplying the Impact Value with the Likelihood Value. I would like to ask the community for input and ideas on a problem I’m facing, which is: How can I track business travel expenses in a AirTable Interface (from Table: “Trip Tracker”) using receipt data from a different table (Table: “Expense Tracker”)? Suppose I am trying to grab some records from table 2 using a set of linked records from table 1 with an automation so I can show a list or gallery of these records in an email. For whatever reason no matter how I do it, Airtable will not let me use an autonumber field to do this. I’ve tried it both as a primary and non-primary field, I’ve tried using a formula, I even tried creating a formula that gets the record ID and then seeing if Find Records could find that (which resulted in an “unkown error”). I don’t know why any of this is the case when its essentially performing a sort of janky database join. I’d appreciate any suggestions for workarounds. If you are curious what exactly I need this for: I have a series of equipment reservations. I want to list the equipment details in an email detailing the reservation. The trigger needs to be a form on the reservation table.

Hello ! I’m new to airtable and struggling to write a formula that allows me to extract dates from a field. I have tried many different formulas found online but nothing matches my case. I have a SPRINT column that hosts in each field a set of dates: 2022-01-03, 2022-01-10, 2022-01-17… (can go up to 53 dates). I would like to extract from any of the fields in the SPRINT column the FIRST date (2022-01-03) and send it to another field in a new column named START. Then, extract from any of the fields in the SPRINT column the LAST date (2022-01-17) and send it to another field in a new column named END. Do you think that is possible and if so could you help me find out the correct formula ? Thanks !

Hi there! :grinning: Thanks in advance for taking the time to help me out. I’m new to airtable and I’m currently evaluating if I can use it for my small business to do the budgeting for my projects. I actually think what I’m looking for is too much of a spreadsheet functionality which isn’t supported by airtable as a database tool. But I would love to be wrong because it would make my life so much easier if it was possible: I’m trying to calculate the costs of each of my departments and usually just have a long list of items and staff. Some fields I need to be the percentage of the total costs (and update automatically if the total sum changes). For instance I would like to have a field with contingency costs of 5% of the total sum. Am I right assuming that there is no easy formula that can do that? And I would have to follow a complicated workaround with rollup fields and a linked table instead, because you can’t use summary values in formula fields? I feel like I’m really in a pick
