Hi Guys, I need help in developing a formula to calculate days between two dates that’s falling in a particular month. For Example - I am working on task for 3 hrs a day that started on 8th Mar 2020 and continued till 12th Jun 2020. I want to calculate no. of hrs in Mar, April, May and Jun in separate columns. In excel, I can directly derive these value through this formula: =if(max(min(< Task End Date>,< Month End Date>)-Max(< Task Start Date>,< Month Start Date>,0))>0,NETWORKDAYS.intl(max(< Month Start Date>,< Task Start Date>),min(< Task End Date>,< Month End Date>),1,< List of Holidays>),0)<No. of Hours

Hi everyone. I am trying to make a formula that will take two time-only fiends (formatted as) HH:00aa and give me the total time in hours rounded to the nearest quarter. (e.g. 2.75, 1.25). This has been very difficult since all of the help I could find seemed to be geared toward Date/Time fields. Thank you ahead of time for any help you can give me!

Hi people :grinning_face_with_big_eyes: I am trying to create a concatenate formula including a date-field. The date i the field is set to ‘european format’. But when I use it in the concatenate-formula, it gives me a different format and the hours as well… Can somebody help?

Is there any way to use the FIND function to search a field backwards (in reverse order)? In other words, I want to find the LAST occurrence of a certain letter/symbol in a field. So, let’s say I had this text in a field: cats_and_dogs_in_playground_part2_lg600125X7aspUT I want to find the position number of the FINAL underscore character so I could then use the LEFT or RIGHT functions to strip out all of the text before or after the position number of the final underscore character. The problem is that all of the fields will have a varying number of underscores, and all of the fields will have a varying number of characters both before & after the final underscore If the FIND formula enabled us to search BACKWARDS in a field, I could simply tell it to stop at the very first underscore character that it finds when searching in reverse. Or — if Airtable gave me some way to COUNT the number of underscores within the field (which would result in 6, based on the example above), and the

We’re still in the testing phase with airtable so we’re new to the tool. Question: how can you/do you filter (or search) on a number field? I’d like to filter for greater than or less than, or for numbers within a range, but the only filter options I see have no relationship to numbers and search doesn’t seem to work on a range. Use case: creating a mailing list for businesses of a certain size, or within a size range.

When I retrieve the content of a rich text enabled long text field through the API, only “bold” formatting works. Strikethrough and Italic are retrieved with a whitespace before the markdown symbol and therefore are not parsed correctly. Example: Is retrieved like this: You can see how 50 años posteriores shows up as _ 50 años posteriores_ instead of underscore50 años posterioresunderscore without spaces between the underscores and the thing I want to make italic. Has anyone experienced this? Is there a way to fix it?

I’ve tried not passing in any option, passing in the field ID, etc. The query totally ignores any of the parameters. The table is full of data, and table.fields shows the other columns. Any help?

I am currently trying to get by without a dedicated TIME field with no date attached. I am currently trying to convert a text field into a timefield with the following code: DATETIME_FORMAT(DATETIME_PARSE({Start Time}, ‘hh:mm’), ‘hh:mm a’) The focumula is working fine, however when I write in a time, such as 3pm, it still parses it in as 3am. I note that if I put in 1500, it correctly parses the time to 3pm. I have worked in systems where you could put in variations of (3pm, 3p, 300pm, etc) and it would always know that meant PM. Is there a way to make airtable do this, and of course the converse with AM, so that I do not have to use military time?

Hi all! I have two fields, both filled with features. I want to see which features are repeated in both fields. For example, I want a column that would tell me that ‘Feature2’ is in both columns of row 1 (record1), Feature3 and Feature4 are both in the columns of record 2 and 'Feature1 and Feature3 are also both there in record 3. Maybe a formula like: If the text in column A is similar to the text in column B, then insert it in column C? I hope this is clear! Thanks in advance for your help!

Hello! I have built a database to record a patient’s treatment. I have shared with him a form to introduce the pills he takes… .but I still have to add up the number of tablets he takes in a day, a week or a month…. I have tried with sum and rollup formulas … BUT I DON’T KNOW HOW TO DO IT! Could you help me get it? What steps should I follow…. What can you think of? I could even share my database with some of you to help me make this column, sum, sum or rollup…. THANKS A LOT.

Hello all! I have been losing my mind for 4 hours on this ‘simple’ task I am trying to implement in my base. I want to automatically update several fields (example : set Phase to ‘Initiation’) when a new record is created. I am able to update all required fields with Zapier. My problem is I am unable to use the ‘Find record’ feature to update the last entry. It would be easy to fix if I was able to simply ‘Find record’ when ‘Field x is empty’ or ‘Find record’ when ‘Auto update for Zapier… = Created’… I don’t understand why I keep getting an error on Zapier… this field exists with only 1 entry set to ‘Created’… and this is the entry I want to update.

Hi all - we’re testing out Airtable and really like it, but I have a question. We have two tables in our test. Once contains company data (name, address, etc.). The other contains financial data that would be updated on a monthly basis from a secondary source. We’d basically upload updated data from a CSV file on a monthly basis. How do I update the field in the first table with updated/related records added to the second table after I upload the CSV?

This is admittedly an aesthetic concern, but I feel like it should be possible. I have a formula that tests a checkbox field, {Guild?}, to see if I owe fees for a given project to a guild I work with. If it is a guild project, then the formula should return a currency value equal to the amount received for the project, {Rec’d}, times the Cut field, which is a percentage. Currently, I have it written like so: IF({Guild?}=1, {Rec’d}*{Cut}, " ") This returns the right numbers for guild projects and leaves non-guild projects blank. Fine and good. However, I cannot use the field formatting options because the values are not all numbers. Is there a way to tell Airtable to return {Rec’d}*{Cut} as currency?

I am extracting a database of children’s books via Airtable API. This is my code so far(hiding my API KEY). It renders every book, but in a random order. I want to sort them by year. I am trying to follow the documentation from Airtable, which demonstrates the code to sort by multiple fields. I don’t really know where to place this code in my original code, and how to adapt it. Hello everyone! This being my first posted question, please let me know if I haven’t provided enough information / context, or if this question is being asked in the wrong Category. This will help improve the way I phrase the question as well as where to address it. I am looking into Zapier, using it to automatically create a record, and when creating this record automatically filling in some of the data. Most of it is pretty straightforward, but I can’t figure out yet how to instruct Zapier to automatically check some of the checkboxes in the row / record. If anyone either knows the answer, or knows where I can find the answer, that would be great! Hi! I would like to use Airtable to do my accounting, but I need a formula that is way above my paygrade, maybe someone here can help? I have a (single select) column 'deposit/withdrawals" and an amount column where all amounts are positive. I’d like to have the withdrawal amounts show as negative. So I made a third column where I’d like to say “if column 1 says withdrawal, then please give me column 2 amount as -amount, if it says deposit, then please give me column 2 as +amount”. Maybe that’s not the right way to go (?) but in any case, I’d love some help if possible! Thank you!

Ok this seems like it should be simple but I can’t figure out how to just cut and paste multiple records. It always overwrites the existing data rather than creating new records. Super frustrating considering how tedious it is to enter data manually into Airtable! What am I doing wrong?

I have a view which is grouped by project name in order to show total time spent per project. My options for sorting the groups are alphabetical. I would prefer to sort this group by a date field so that it shows the most recent project at the top of the screen. Is this possible? I was able to create a formula “Date” & “Project” field which was successful, but it’s not a particularly clean way to go about it. Thanks!

Hi ! I’m searching since days the solution on the forum, i just can’t find it, but it might be really easy ! I have two tables, in one of them i have all the informations i need, and in the other i would like to have a general view of my data, and organize it. For example, i have a column with a single select, and i would like to retrieve in the other table, only the records that have the “Yes” option. In the second table where i want to retrieve the data, i already created a link to the first table, to count afterwards, but it doesn’t work … Any idea ? In general, i want to retrieve certain data from a table depending on specific criteria, to another one.

How many tabs on the top is “too many”? How do you work out what to add to a table and what to bring to a different table. For example, I am tracking clients and behaviors. I want to create customized behavior goals and bill for their services (and eventually other things). Right now I have: Table 1: Client Information (names of kids) Table 2: Contact Information (parents, foster providers, case workers, team members of the kids, linked to their kid) Table 3: Notes that I write about each visit Table 4: My invoices (linking to the start/end day and time, duration generated in Table 3) Table 5: Goals, behavior tracking I guess my question is should table 5 be on it’s own, or should this be consolidated in “client information”? What is the benefit of having Table 5 house behavior tracking (linked to Table 1) vs. having a separate view in Table 1?

Hi all, I am a free user and I´ve been sharing a few bases with other free users for a while. I am thinking of upgrading my account to a paid subscription, but I am afraid this might affect collaboration with non paid users. How does this work? If this sort of collaboration is possible what happens to the product features available only for paid subscriptors when working on a shared base? Thanks!
