Hi guys, I’ve got a form with a single select option, that’s linking to another table. However when you click to add, it shows all of the fields for all of the records in the linked table. Is there any way to prevent seeing all of the fields during selection? It pulls every field from the linked table. Thanks for your help!

Hi all, This may be a quick fix that I’m missing but figured I’d ask the community for guidance here: I have a base with 8 tables. On 1 master table, I have a primary field (auto-numbered) and 7 additional fields pulling in information from linked records across the other tables. Each record on this master table is only linked to 2-3 other tables, so the majority of the Linked column fields are blank - making it a pain to see all of the linked information quickly when expanding the record (I have to scroll passed a bunch of empty fields). I’m wondering if there is an easy way (using either a formula or rollup field) to create an additional column on this master table that searches the other 7 fields and if there is a linked record, pulls it in to this field. In a perfect world, the information being pulled in wouldn’t just be the text of the linked record but rather the actual link itself - essentially just combining all linked items across the different fields on the record into this

I’ve got a few questions that I’m having a hard time figuring out the best approach to solve or if it can be solved easily (very much not a JS person)… I want to create a record in a table based on conditions from the original table. The new record should copy information from the original table that are held as different field types. Something like this: Conditions for new record: If xTeam is in thisField, then create new record in otherTable Data to be copied: thisTable.launchDate = otherTable.liveDate thisTable.activityDescription = otherTable.description thisTable.launch = otherTable.launch --> (this is currently a lookup between the two tables where otherTable looks up thisTable) thisTable.activityOwner = otherTable.requestor --> (this is currently a lookup from a 3rd table) write otherTable.status as request Is this feasible in the scripting block? and are there any good examples/resources on the types of functions to write to execute this? I have rate fields low, mid, high. The rate fields are lookups - formatted as decimals. Then I have a formula field IF(rate = “low”, {low rate}, IF(rate = “mid”, {mid rate}, IF(rate=“high”, {high rate},""))) which results in the correct number, but the formula will not allow me to format as a number. What am I overlooking? Thanks!

I am trying to understand a why a simple MOD function isn’t returning the correct answer. ( I can grant you access so you can see the formulas) On the table titled “SEASON STATS OVERVIEW”, in the OVER field, I am trying to build a larger formula and part of it requires me to use the MOD function. The formula in the OVERS field is MOD({BALLS BOWLED},6) but for some reason the record for player 2 is returning a value of 6 when it should be 0. I have tested the MOD function for the number 30 as a number i.e. not generated from a roll up function and that works. But for some reason when the number 30 is generated from a Roll up formula is returns an incorrect value. Hi all! I’m creating an airtable, but I have a user that I need to be able to see just one view, but not the whole table, for privacy reasons. I also do NOT want that view to be viewable to the public (by a link). Is this possible?

I am attempting to create multiple organization charts / “relationship maps” for all of my vendors (on a separate table). Right now the way the block is set up, it thinks that all of the rows belong to the same organization. However, as you’ll see I’ve linked the Vendor name to a different tab because there are multiple vendors that will each need their own relationship map. In the example I’ve shown, I’d like to have 1 organizational chart for Example - Dunder Mifflin and another for Wonka’s Chocolates. Is that possible without creating a new tab for each Vendor?

I want to allocate a list of numbers (product limited editions) to users. They will pick one by one their selected number and I want this number not to be avaliable anymore after the selection. Do you know how to do that ? Thanks a lot

Hi Everyone, I am new to Airtable and enjoy it (for the most part:). I am trying to concatenate two fields (done) and then replace or substitute the spaces " " with dashes “-”. I having trouble placing the substitute syntax and getting a circular reference error. Thanks in advance for your help!

Hi! Is there a keyboard shortcut to expand a linked record? Or has anyone found a different way of solving this? When interacting with mouse, clicking to expand the linked record is dangerously close to the X to remove the linked record… Thank you! Freddie

Hello, I have 2 fields, Collaborator and Formula. When I select a collaborator(any) I want the formula to show last modified time. Similar to this(this is for a checkbox, so it doesn’t work): IF({PAGO} = 1, LAST_MODIFIED_TIME({PAGO})) I have been messing arround with the formula but to no sucess. Thank you in advance.

Hello everyone, I am new to airtable, have been trying out a possible solution for my company for a few days now. Currently I have a table created with all the data I need. I have just created multiple Views with the results I want each collaborator to see and edit. What I don’t want is for them to see all the Views I have created. I know this is not possible(or is it?), but is there any other I could possibly go around it? What I am trying to do is create a database of Cars(car dealership) that are ready to be delivered. But they go through a process(the one I am creating right now). That said, I have a single table with all the fields I need to be filled. I have then created multiple views only showing the data each department needs to fill. I just don’t want collaborators to see or edit all the views. I want each department to only be able to See/Edit their own View. IF this is not possible, what can I do to achieve such results? Thanks in advance, hope you can help me, Daniel

Hi everyone! New to Airtable but already love the product! I’m hoping you can help. To determine which fish can go with another fish in a fish tank I created a table with two columns. Column A is the species of fish and Column B is a self-linked field of the fish that can go with it (simpatry fish). I want to make sure I don’t overuse any particular simpatry fish. I want to create Column C to count how many times my column A fish is used in any of the values in all of Column B. So row 5 (Heros severus) in my screenshot would have a value of 2 in Column C since it has simpatry with the fish in row 3 and row 4. That way I can find out how many times any fish in column A has been used as a simpatry fish. I hope this makes sense. Thanks in advance!

Hello - I am very new to Airtable (meaning…this morning :)) and I’m very much a newbie to any kind of spreadsheet. I’m trying to create a formula and am hoping I can get some guidance here . I’ve attached a screenshot to help illustrate what I’m trying to achieve - if the column Pay(X) is checked, then the amount in column Balance Due will be put into column Amount to Pay. Finally, the Amount to Pay should be totaled and put into column Bills to Pay Total. Thanks in advance for any assistance that can be provided! Sarah

I created a scheduling system in airtable where people can sign up for scheduled slots through a form. One table has the slots that are available, call this A. Another slot has the actual schedule where people can sign up for slots, call it B. When a person signs up for a slot, they pick their team which is referenced from another table, call it C. So, table A will link to a schedule entry B which will link to a team C. Is it possible to also link table A, the actual slots directly to the team C once the team has signed up?

I plan to make a database of transactions between users. In that case I can easily reach 1.200 rows, this means only 35 users making 35 tx between each other… this is nothing. Even 50k is too limited: only 200 users 200 transactions each. Am I understanding correctly the “Records” limit? Thanks. Javier Bonet

I’m using a Kanban view. When opening one of the records, I open a linked record from another table. How to I control which fields of that related record are shown vs hidden? It seems random.

Why is this this Balance Column not equal to Zero 0.00? My Formula is {Net Bill Amount}-{Total Paid} How can I build the Formula that is should say 0.00 , I need it as a 0.00 !!!

Is there a way to initialize fields of type Created Time and Modified Time from existing records of an imported sheet? That way, those fields will be correct for imported records and will be automatically updated as we add and edit subsequent records.

Hi all just trying to decide if AirTable will work for our businesses. So far so good except for this snag. We are in childcare and NEED to calculate our babies ages in Months not years based on TODAY(). This is the section of the child table so far, I want the Age field to return ages under 3yrs (<=35months) in months and the rest in years… Formulas so far M_age DATETIME_DIFF(TODAY(),{C1_DOB},‘M’) &“M” (works fine) Y_age DATETIME_DIFF(TODAY(),{C1_DOB},‘Y’) &“Y” (works fine) Age I’ve tried… to get under 3 years in Months and over in years: IF(M_age <= 35,(DATETIME_DIFF(TODAY(),{C1_DOB},‘M’)&“M”),Y_age) IF(M_age <= 35,M_age,Y_age) No matter what I do the age field returns age in years.

I don’t understand why this was flagged. Hi Airtable! I have a scenario that places data into GS, using a public API and basic trigger with a collection of arrays for tv shows data. I also wanted to use Airtable in the scenario, too. Hi everyone, I’ve got a table that I’m having trouble with. In the “Act” column, I have a single-select with Act 1, Act 2, Act 3, and Act 4 as options. When one of those Acts is selected, I want the next column (“Act Dynamics”) to return a string of text. I’ve gone through similar questions from other users and have tried a few different possibilities, but each time, Airtable says my formula is invalid. Can anyone see what the issue is? I need to make a workspace where there will be a few different bases and with a bunch of different users not all having access to all bases. Some people will need access to the whole workspace, but then there is some that only will need access to 2 out of 3 bases within the workspace. What I can’t figure out is how Airtable calculates usage if the same person will be invited to 2 bases will that count as 2 x user or will it calculate as one user as it’s the same user within the one workspace?

Hi there, I am using the following formula to calculate total donations received within a period of time: IF( AND( YEAR({Received Date}) = YEAR(TODAY()) ), {Amount} ) However, I would like to modify this, so that instead of “TODAY()” - which gives the current year (2020) , I can set a time period like March 1, 2020 to February 28, 2021 (which matches our financial year). How do I do this in existing formula?

Hi, I am getting my table data from Jotforms with an integration. This is working well. I want to then customise my table further and add lots of extra fields in Airtable for workflow, but I kind of want to keep the original import data structure intact and simple. My solution to this is to create a second table which has all the data from the import table linked plus all my extra goodies. I am aware that I can achieve this by creating a new table and manually linking all the fields from the import table, but I wondered if there was a simple solution to creating a complete linked table duplicate in one click? Am I just being lazy? I could have probably done it manually in the time it took to write this but I hate doing stuff the hard way if there is something I am missing. Thanks Pete
