greeting - airtable noob here with my first post :slightly_smiling_face: i need to take a text string from a field called NAME - make it lower case - and then do search and replace for a number of characters . I have it working for one condition - replacing spaces with dashes. SUBSTITUTE(LOWER(NAME), " ", “-”) now i need to find special characters like ( ) " etc and eliminate from the string. is there a way to nest multiple commands…? or…? thanks!

Hello, I’m trying to subtract a specific time (3:30 hours) from a duration field using formula that looks like this: Difference field = IF({Ride duration}=3:30,0,({Ride duration}-3:30)) Basically, I want to subtract 3:30 hours from the duration field to know the difference between the times What am I missing here? I know that Airtable has recently changed a few things and as someone who struggles to remember the technicalities of all of this, I just want to make sure that I am not doing any more work than I need to. Or maybe the update has made it simpler as it has for other things! What I want to do is populate fields from another table into a single cell, one on each line. This has multiple purposes, though right now I am trying to display to-do ID’s one at a time so my brain can actually grasp it, and then make a makeshift-dashboard displaying multiple categories in one place. Another purpose this has is when I do documentation I want to list goals we addressed and have it listed on a different line to, again, make it easy to read. I currently have a link to the table, an “array join” rollup, and then a formula to substitute the commas for new lines. Hi everyone, I have a base where I have a list of invoices which have a date an an amount. I need to know the average earnings for each working day of the month the invoice is billed. To do so, I wanted to calculate the number of working days for each month of the invoices. I saw that there’s the WORKINGDAY DIFF formula, but to make it works I’ll need the first and last day of each invoice, as the screenshot below: Here, for example, I entered manually the 1st and last, but is there a way to automate this? With my manually entered 1st and last date of the month, I calculated the working days for the month. Then, I created a formula which calculate the average amount billed each day from the amount of the bill (Formula is: Amount of the bill divided by the # of working days in the month). Finally, I sum all the bills of the month to know the average amount billed by day for the whole month. I created a time tracker block to track time and wish to create a billable time calculated field that will calculate the duration and set to 30 minutes if the duration is less 30 minutes. something like: IF( duration is less than 30 minutes, set "Billable Time Value to 30 minutes, Otherwise set to Current Duration). I’ve been using Airtable integration for a few years and its always been seamless. But since April 2020 I can’t do it anymore. When I try to open a new Airtable base directly from G-Drive I get a message " Sorry, the page you were looking for was not found". Does anyone have an idea what’s happening?

I consider myself a fairly adept user of Airtable, but I think this question is going to say otherwise. My objective is to see this (the red dollar sign represents my Job Cost field): So on a calendar view, I want to see a concatenation of the Company Name, Contact Name and the Job Cost. The Company and Contact are two separate linked tables, and work fine in the primary field using the following code: {Link to Companies}&" | "&{Link to Contacts} But my Job Cost field is a Lookup from another tab called Proposals. My modified code of: works fine in any field/column other than the primary field/column: When I add the same code to the Primary Field, I get this error: Which makes no sense to me (novice apparently). Hi! I’m working on a historical database and am putting in birth and death dates for historical figures. I currently have those field types set as dates (YYYY-MM-DD). However, there are birth/death dates for which I don’t know the months or days for these people. Is there any way to input a date as just the year (YYYY) in records where I don’t know the month or day for these fields? Thanks!

And i want to copy it to other tables (in same project) several times and filter by category. like this But as i understand, this is available in same table to another (grid) view. (i need table, not view. becuz the reason i do this is i am making an app by Thunkable) Or if i just duplicate a table, then it will not update automatically. So please help me. Do i need a script block or something?

Hi guys, I’ve got a form with a single select option, that’s linking to another table. However when you click to add, it shows all of the fields for all of the records in the linked table. Is there any way to prevent seeing all of the fields during selection? It pulls every field from the linked table. Thanks for your help!

Hi all, This may be a quick fix that I’m missing but figured I’d ask the community for guidance here: I have a base with 8 tables. On 1 master table, I have a primary field (auto-numbered) and 7 additional fields pulling in information from linked records across the other tables. Each record on this master table is only linked to 2-3 other tables, so the majority of the Linked column fields are blank - making it a pain to see all of the linked information quickly when expanding the record (I have to scroll passed a bunch of empty fields). I’m wondering if there is an easy way (using either a formula or rollup field) to create an additional column on this master table that searches the other 7 fields and if there is a linked record, pulls it in to this field. In a perfect world, the information being pulled in wouldn’t just be the text of the linked record but rather the actual link itself - essentially just combining all linked items across the different fields on the record into this

I’ve got a few questions that I’m having a hard time figuring out the best approach to solve or if it can be solved easily (very much not a JS person)… I want to create a record in a table based on conditions from the original table. The new record should copy information from the original table that are held as different field types. I have rate fields low, mid, high. The rate fields are lookups - formatted as decimals. Then I have a formula field IF(rate = “low”, {low rate}, IF(rate = “mid”, {mid rate}, IF(rate=“high”, {high rate},""))) which results in the correct number, but the formula will not allow me to format as a number. What am I overlooking? Thanks!

I am trying to understand a why a simple MOD function isn’t returning the correct answer. ( I can grant you access so you can see the formulas) On the table titled “SEASON STATS OVERVIEW”, in the OVER field, I am trying to build a larger formula and part of it requires me to use the MOD function. The formula in the OVERS field is MOD({BALLS BOWLED},6) but for some reason the record for player 2 is returning a value of 6 when it should be 0. I have tested the MOD function for the number 30 as a number i.e. not generated from a roll up function and that works. But for some reason when the number 30 is generated from a Roll up formula is returns an incorrect value. I can grant creator access to you if you need to see the formula fields/ Any ideas/assistance, all gratefull

Hi all! I’m creating an airtable, but I have a user that I need to be able to see just one view, but not the whole table, for privacy reasons. I also do NOT want that view to be viewable to the public (by a link). Is this possible?

I am attempting to create multiple organization charts / “relationship maps” for all of my vendors (on a separate table). Right now the way the block is set up, it thinks that all of the rows belong to the same organization. However, as you’ll see I’ve linked the Vendor name to a different tab because there are multiple vendors that will each need their own relationship map. In the example I’ve shown, I’d like to have 1 organizational chart for Example - Dunder Mifflin and another for Wonka’s Chocolates. Is that possible without creating a new tab for each Vendor?
