Can someone please share what formula I would use to update the day for holidays that change each year? For example, MLK Day, President’s Day, Good Friday, etc. all change each year. I’m using a social media calendar template and the current formula is not auto-updating the holiday dates for 2020.

From what I’ve read about the field permissions this isn’t possible, but I hope someone has found a workaround for this? Without Forms, preferably! On View 1 I’d like a field to be utilized by all. then as the workflow progresses and moves to view 2 this field is locked to prevent the user from making changes to the filed and so on.

I manage online content for multiple companies. I need a way to get feedback on content revisions from my client, but don’t want them to see any tables or data that is not specific to their company. For example: Company A has 12 items. I have a view in a table that is specific to this company’s items. I have edited two fields: 1. Title and 2. Description I need to give them visibility to these fields, in addition to about 6 others that are reference only and static, but I also want to give them the ability to give feedback in a “Client Comments” field. A shareable URL does not allow them to add “Client Comments”. I think I could do it in a form, but am not sure how to filter it such that the form is ONLY Client A and the items/fields/values that are displayed (Title and Description) are ONLY for Client A.

I share different data with outside organizations. Should I setup a Base for each organization? If so, how would I track activity globally among all of the organizations in the same workspace?

Hi, when I call for a view, is there a way to only give back how the view really looks like, with all the hidden fields not in the response? Otherwise the view= Tag makes no sense imho. Best

How can I capture selected text using CSS selectors. The use case is that I want to capture some interesting lines/quotes from articles that I am reading. I tried using the ::selection however it does not seem to work. I am selecting the text manually myself so, it’s not that difficult to make a copy and do a paste after opening the extension. But having the selection populate automatically would be cool.

Hello, everyone! Could you guys lend me a hand, please? I am using this formula to calculate the number of delayed or advanced days for a step in a project development: IF(AND({01 Limite}, {01 Entrega}), WORKDAY_DIFF({01 Limite}, {01 Entrega}, ‘2020-05-01, 2020-06-11, 2020-09-07’), 0) But for some reason it is miss counting. For example: right now 01 LIMITE is 11/05/2020 and 01 ENTREGA is 11/05/2020, and the answer is ‘1’. Should be 0, right? Thanks in advance!

Is there a way to label unread items in Calendar view? Our planner is populated by a form and it’d be great to have a way to star or colour new items submitted by others outside of our team that haven’t yet been expanded. I think it’s to do with GMT/BST but I would like any help in solving this because I can’t get it right. We have an event table that keeps track of our client’s events around the globe. Each event takes place in a different time zone. But Airtable doesn’t allow us to attach a time zone to a date/time field. We need to view this time in 2 different ways: The “local time” of the event. This time should always remain the same in the system, since it is the “local time” of the event. The “translated time” to each user’s time zone when each user logs into the system, so they know what time the event takes place in their own time zone. How can we successfully use Airtable to accomplish this? Is this even possible in Airtable?

I love the idea behind editing field permissions but I think I’m missing the concept. I hope someone can answer a few questions or give me an example of how they are using this new feature. Thanks in advance. Is there a way to allow someone to fill in the “blocked” field? Preferably without using forms. I see potential in the field restriction for an issue we currently have. When a team member inputs project details to send to a 3rd party vendor to price - they are going back and editing these details AFTER they submit the form to the vendor. This is a huge no, as it could cause problems later since the quote will not match the original details. The only way I can think to avoid this and use the field editing restrictions is by using a form to write up the initial project details then prevent a change on the actual table. Ideas or suggestions? If a field is restricted what keeps a blocked user from deleting the record? Am I missing something here? I would love to see how others are

Hi all, Trying to wrap my head around this one. In my table I have 4 overarching categories: say A, B, C, D. Underneath each of those I have a variety of sub categories, around 5-10. Those two categories are single select fields. And each of those sub categories has a number of items attached to them, which are just longform text. What I’m trying to achieve is a numbering system that looks like this: 1.2.5 which translates to Category 1, subcategory 2, item 5 Is it possible to set something like this up? I’ve been playing around with formulas but have gotten stuck.

Is there any way to use the FIND function to search a field backwards (in reverse order)? In other words, I want to find the LAST occurrence of a certain letter/symbol in a field. So, let’s say I had this text in a field: cats_and_dogs_in_playground_part2_lg600125X7aspUT I want to find the position number of the FINAL underscore character so I could then use the LEFT or RIGHT functions to strip out all of the text before or after the position number of the final underscore character. The problem is that all of the fields will have a varying number of underscores, and all of the fields will have a varying number of characters both before & after the final underscore If the FIND formula enabled us to search BACKWARDS in a field, I could simply tell it to stop at the very first underscore character that it finds when searching in reverse. We’re still in the testing phase with airtable so we’re new to the tool. Question: how can you/do you filter (or search) on a number field? I’d like to filter for greater than or less than, or for numbers within a range, but the only filter options I see have no relationship to numbers and search doesn’t seem to work on a range. Use case: creating a mailing list for businesses of a certain size, or within a size range.

When I retrieve the content of a rich text enabled long text field through the API, only “bold” formatting works. Strikethrough and Italic are retrieved with a whitespace before the markdown symbol and therefore are not parsed correctly. I’ve tried not passing in any option, passing in the field ID, etc. The query totally ignores any of the parameters. The table is full of data, and table.fields shows the other columns. Any help?

I am currently trying to get by without a dedicated TIME field with no date attached. I am currently trying to convert a text field into a timefield with the following code: DATETIME_FORMAT(DATETIME_PARSE({Start Time}, ‘hh:mm’), ‘hh:mm a’) The focumula is working fine, however when I write in a time, such as 3pm, it still parses it in as 3am. I note that if I put in 1500, it correctly parses the time to 3pm. I have worked in systems where you could put in variations of (3pm, 3p, 300pm, etc) and it would always know that meant PM. Is there a way to make airtable do this, and of course the converse with AM, so that I do not have to use military time?

Hi all! I have two fields, both filled with features. I want to see which features are repeated in both fields. For example, I want a column that would tell me that ‘Feature2’ is in both columns of row 1 (record1), Feature3 and Feature4 are both in the columns of record 2 and 'Feature1 and Feature3 are also both there in record 3. Maybe a formula like: If the text in column A is similar to the text in column B, then insert it in column C? I hope this is clear! Thanks in advance for your help!

I have shared with him a form to introduce the pills he takes… .but I still have to add up the number of tablets he takes in a day, a week or a month…. I have tried with sum and rollup formulas … BUT I DON’T KNOW HOW TO DO IT! Could you help me get it? What steps should I follow…. What can you think of? Hello all! I have been losing my mind for 4 hours on this ‘simple’ task I am trying to implement in my base. I want to automatically update several fields (example : set Phase to ‘Initiation’) when a new record is created. I am able to update all required fields with Zapier. My problem is I am unable to use the ‘Find record’ feature to update the last entry. It would be easy to fix if I was able to simply ‘Find record’ when ‘Field x is empty’ or ‘Find record’ when ‘Auto update for Zapier… = Created’… I don’t understand why I keep getting an error on Zapier… this field exists with only 1 entry set to ‘Created’… and this is the entry I want to update.
