Hi! I would like to use Airtable to do my accounting, but I need a formula that is way above my paygrade, maybe someone here can help? I have a (single select) column 'deposit/withdrawals" and an amount column where all amounts are positive. I’d like to have the withdrawal amounts show as negative. So I made a third column where I’d like to say “if column 1 says withdrawal, then please give me column 2 amount as -amount, if it says deposit, then please give me column 2 as +amount”. Maybe that’s not the right way to go (?) but in any case, I’d love some help if possible! Thank you!

Ok this seems like it should be simple but I can’t figure out how to just cut and paste multiple records. It always overwrites the existing data rather than creating new records. Super frustrating considering how tedious it is to enter data manually into Airtable! What am I doing wrong?

I have a view which is grouped by project name in order to show total time spent per project. My options for sorting the groups are alphabetical. I would prefer to sort this group by a date field so that it shows the most recent project at the top of the screen. Is this possible? I was able to create a formula “Date” & “Project” field which was successful, but it’s not a particularly clean way to go about it. Thanks!

Hi ! I’m searching since days the solution on the forum, i just can’t find it, but it might be really easy ! I have two tables, in one of them i have all the informations i need, and in the other i would like to have a general view of my data, and organize it. For example, i have a column with a single select, and i would like to retrieve in the other table, only the records that have the “Yes” option. In the second table where i want to retrieve the data, i already created a link to the first table, to count afterwards, but it doesn’t work … Any idea ? In general, i want to retrieve certain data from a table depending on specific criteria, to another one.

How many tabs on the top is “too many”? How do you work out what to add to a table and what to bring to a different table. For example, I am tracking clients and behaviors. I want to create customized behavior goals and bill for their services (and eventually other things). Right now I have: Table 1: Client Information (names of kids) Table 2: Contact Information (parents, foster providers, case workers, team members of the kids, linked to their kid) Table 3: Notes that I write about each visit Table 4: My invoices (linking to the start/end day and time, duration generated in Table 3) Table 5: Goals, behavior tracking I guess my question is should table 5 be on it’s own, or should this be consolidated in “client information”? What is the benefit of having Table 5 house behavior tracking (linked to Table 1) vs. having a separate view in Table 1?

Hi all, I am a free user and I´ve been sharing a few bases with other free users for a while. I am thinking of upgrading my account to a paid subscription, but I am afraid this might affect collaboration with non paid users. How does this work? If this sort of collaboration is possible what happens to the product features available only for paid subscriptors when working on a shared base? Thanks!

I saw a post with the following formula: IF(IS_BEFORE({Due Date}, TODAY()), “ :boom: ”, " ") This formula puts the emoji in a column if the due date for something is past. I’m not really good with formulas. Is there a way to make it have that emoji if it is ON the due date AND after?

Hi. Is there any way, programmatically or by some setting (either on block or on the dashboard) to change the height of the block within the dashboard? No matter how many blocks are displayed in the dashboard, each of them seams to be 304px tall (including its heading). So even if there’s just one block, there’s a lot of unused whitespace while at the same time the block would be able to display more data. Our custom block displays a lot of content within an iframe, it expands the iframe to occupy as much space as available. But since the height of the block is fixed, it’s rather limited (read “very small”). I know the user can switch the block to the fullscreen, but that doesn’t help as that covers the data in the table, so when the user wants the block to react to cursor change (which is the coolest think and the only reason to use the block in our case), they need to exit the fullscreen, select another record in the table and then either scroll within the block or enter the full scr

Does Airtable offer view of family tree. i.e say I want to know all the family members of my uncle, does it come in one page. ( earlier I would have put the details of uncle and all his family members in separate rows- so is there a feature to connect them and then retrieve the family in one page) . It would come to use when I meet my uncle , I want to recollect all his family members names and birthdays, etc

Has anyone retrieved data from multiple tables via the api? I can retrieve one set from one table no problem and I know how to to do this in SQL for muliple inner or outer joins but I have a little bit of a block doing this in node.js using the api. Thank you

Hello, I am building out a client database and want to have a column that designates which consultant is the lead relationship manager on each client. I want to relationship manager column to be a Collaborator field, but I don’t want those collaborators to receive the invite email yet, this is because I am adding about 40 people, and I want to complete this first iteration of the database before allowing everyone to get into it - I don’t want to cause a bunch of confusion in my organization by inviting those collaborators and having them start looking at and using the data before it is ready. Is there anyway to add emails as collaborators but just hold the invite back?

When I try to set up my clipper it says my fields with dates are unsupported. Is there a workaround or specific field I can use to add a date stamp of when the clip is stored?

Hi I am using the free version of Airtable and using one base very heavily for my day to day work to manage workflow. Suddenly over the last 3 days I have been getting a warning message saying “This webpage is using significant memory and closing it could improve the responsiveness of your Mac” I didn’t ever get this before and also I have the latest (1 month old) 16 inch MacBook Pro with significantly greater memory and faster processor than my old MacBook Pro which was 5 years old and a lower level model Please help!

Hello, I have a formula for UTM and its pulling from the other columns in the sheet, but for some reason, it is not hyperlinking the entire URL. I not sure why, But I have doubled checked the formula to make sure there are no spaces. I am new to Airtable formulas so I am not sure what I am doing wrong. Thanks!

I just upgraded to the pro plan (from the free). I don’t see anywhere where it gives the price to add a base collaborator. I really don’t think i want to pay much for something that i don’t know if they are going to use much. i paid for Airtable myself because it was my choice to get myself more organized. I really only need my boss to come in every now and then (like once or twice a month) and change a drop down for a job from “billed” to “paid”. That and maybe she would log in every now and then to see the status of things. Is there not a way she can do this without me having to pay to add her as a collaborator? I can make her “view only” for free, right? or can i give her my login so she can just check in every now and then? (and change those drop downs). i know she’d have access to all of my bases, but that is fine, i’m probably only using this for work anyway.

I’m importing a csv with the Airtable markdown for pretty urls but, they’re not parsing. If I manually create the individual record it parses fine. So, I’m importing this: Google Search e.g. the above in markdown as [ x ]( x ) I have a ton of records and doing this manually cell by cell will be difficult. I’ve tried clearing my history, logging out/in, and refreshing the page many times with no change. I have also tried manually copy/pasting CSV, as well as using the CSV import block both as a new table and by replacing existing data. Nothing is working. Thanks!

I have created a bunch of categories that I am using in a multiple select field. My question: how can I export those categories that I created into a list somewhere so I can manipulate it?

Hello. I’m having a problem importing ICS data, where the start and end date from the ICS file are importing as one day earlier in Airtable. The ICS file is set to Europe/London, but not sure if the timezone would affect the days themselves. Can anyone suggest how I investigate further or fix this? I have a few thousands of records to import from a Google calendar.

Hello, I have a contacts record with peoples first and last names and for some reason many of them (not all) were imported with a space before their name. Is there a way to remove this space for each record? Thanks in advance!
