Solved

Hello everyone, I have two tables: Pre-production and Production. I was able to make an automation so if I "approve" a project submitted through form to Pre-production table, a new record is created in Production with the same name and info. Now I want to make an automation so if the info in Pre-production table is updated, it will also update the same info in the Production table. But I keep getting an error. What am I doing wrong?

I’m trying to make shortenings of company names using a regular expression, by taking taking the first letter every part of the name. Fx ‘Great Garden Centre’ → GGC I’m not sure if this is possible without a loop, but I’m also no buff at using regex. I’ve sofar I can only extract the first letter using this: REGEX_EXTRACT(Company, "\\b[a-zA-Z]") Is this possible without looping through every word?

Hi all,I have a problem that feels like it should be simple but is giving me a huge headache, lol. Here are some past questions I found that seem to intersect, but I couldn't seem to find my answer in the replies: 1, 2 I replicated my problem in a sandbox base to try to narrow it down, but I'm still confused. Okay, two tables:1. Classes2. Staff. This is synced from the Data Library, and has the same sharing permissions on as all my other sync-able tables. I have creator permissions in both bases, and I'm the owner of the data set in the library. (I've also tried syncing directly from the base because the library is new to me, but it does the same thing):   Here is the Classes table. The goal is to link to the record to the Staff table, and then lookup the email from over there. I can successfully link the record by hitting the + in the Link to Staff field and manually scrolling until I find the matching name, but this is not a

How do I concatenate these two fields so they show values with not so many digits. I would like to show 2 decimal digits.

I'm new, so apologies for any blatant errors. I'm trying to create a SKU in the table primary field using the SWITCH function based on other fields in the table. My initial try included a lengthy list of colors (all unique) and the 5-letter results (not unique) for output, and the formula failed to even load. Removing the color section, I was able to generate the appropriate results based on the other columns. However, after struggling with the color field and failing, I reset the formula to the original (no color), and now get #ERROR!. I cleaned up and sorted the color entries to perfectly match the fields, and now get #ERROR!, which is progress, I guess, as at least the formula loaded.Next, I added a lookup field for the color code I want in this table and changed the color SWITCH section to reference the lookup field, but I still get #ERROR!. Here's my new formula:SWITCH({Product Type},"Apparel", "APP","Accessories", "ACC","Blankets", "BKT","Brock", "BRK","Other", "OTH") &

Hi I was wondering if anyone would kindly help. I am creating a form from a grid view I have created. One of my fields in the grid view allows me to link with a master data base and pull all required info through using added lookups. This doesn't seem to be something that forms allows or am I missing something? Thanks for any advice.

Looking for some help regarding a formula. Here's a little context of what I am trying to do. I am working on importing my teams marketing budget plans into Airtable, and so far everything is working well. As a final step, and in order to avoid have two column with repeated numbers for Actual Variance to Budge and Planned Variance to Budget, I wanted to create a formula combining the two numbers and then group by that column (and hide it), so that it is always present but it doesn't need to be repeated. The look that I am going for is ($ x,xxx, xxx.xx | $ x,xxx, xxx.xx)I ran into the same issue that I found a lot of people here have faced. Once I use the currency values in a text formula, I automatically lose the "$" symbol and the number separators. The symbol (even with my limited knowledge) is easy to put back, but the separators were not. I found this solution in the forums. I can't take any credit for it because I simply do not understand it, but it seems to work for a rou

Hello everyone,In an interface page I created an automation that is launched when I click on a button. The automation will allow me to duplicate a record. However, when this automation runs, I stay on the page of the record I've just duplicated. Is there any way of adding a step in the automation, or whatever, so that the new record, which is the duplicate, is displayed?Thank you for your help.Julien

I have a rollup cell that is pulling a range of data from another sheet.  Is there a way to:1) Format these so it's easier to read : MM/DD/YY-MM/DD/YY 2) Format these so I can create a calendar view that would show these dates in a row on the calendar? Thanks!!

Hi, I am trying to automate a process whereby if a record in one table is not empty, it will automatically create a duplicate record in a different table, filling in some select fields. To be specific:I have a table called tasks. It has a URL field called "output" which typically links to a google doc:I also have a table called "Resources" which I will usually populate independently, but in the cases where there is a task connected to the resource, I want it to automatically create a new record.I was able to make it work in a test, however it only worked for the test record. How do I make it such that all records that fit the condition "not empty" will trigger the creation of a new record. The automation is already set to "on".

Apologies in advance if this was answered elsewhere, I did try to find it.I have a lookup cell that is pulling information from another sheet.  In that other sheet, the cells all share an attribute called “Daily Flow.” I’m wondering if there’s a way for me to format this cell so that if there are duplicates, (like you see “An insect’s world” is shown multiple times), that it only lists it once? Thanks for the help!

I need to understand one thing regarding billing per user per workspace. If I am the owner and at the same time creator/editor/everything of 3 different workspaces, am I charged as “one user” or “three users”? There are three of use in the team who will need access to many different workspaces. Will we get charged per email address (even if that user uses 4 workspaces) or per number of workspaces that user uses? I hope this is clear! :slightly_smiling_face: Thank you in advance for your help!

I have a formula in the primary field of my table that combines a Date/time and the name of the brand in the appointment.  Formula I am using: DATETIME_FORMAT({Appointment Time},'MM/DD, H:MM A')&" - "&Brand results are randomly adding 2, 4 and 6 minutes to the time format, ex:04/09, 9:04 AM - Gregory(appointment time is 9:00 am in the calendar column) I'm lost, what am I not specifying that would prevent this? Thanks!

Hi, We have different bases in a single workspace that correspond to specific projects. One tab in each base is the project schedule. We would like to link all of these up in a separate ‘master-schedule’ base that can house a Gantt chart to keep track of our project pipeline. We would rather not have all the projects (dozens of tabs) in a single base. Is this possible with Airtable?

Hi,I have an automation in Make.com that adds a record to a table in Airtable. The connection uses an Airtable Personal Access Token. I have given the token all available permissions in Airtable, but am still receiving the below error message in Make.com:[422] Insufficient permissions to create new select option ""Microsoft PowerApps""I suspect it is because I am trying to add an option to a Multi Select field that doesn't already have this option specified in Airtable. Would appreciate any feedback on where I'm going wrong on the permissioning / access approach - it seems like this MUST be possible.I should add that I am currently on the Free plan; not sure if that has an impact. Many thanksBrett

I have been using this booking form template (here is the community post where I found it) to try and create a student registration form, but I'm running into some snags. I'm hoping someone may be able to help me. The basic requirement is below (once I have that established, I'll play around and try and make it a bit better). What I need is a form where:Student enters in their student ID.Student chooses a research topic from the list. When they submit, this reserves that topic for that student, assigning their student ID against the topic. I have five topics (for simplicity sake: blue, green, red, pink, brown), and each topic has 25 spaces available. My setup so far is:Table 1: Available Topics:The fields are:Primary: Topic (this is not a unique field, it will be one of the 5 colours)An autogenerated numberUnique ID using formula based on auto ID and region nameStudent ID (linked to the other table)A status field (formula tests if student ID is blank, if yes "available" i

Does anyone know why creating or linking records in elements with a linked record source is disabled (locked icon)? Right now, you see this when you mouse over those disabled buttons: This feature is not currently available in Interfaces for elements with a linked record source  Because I do need a linked, filtered, and sorted list element with a record source, I came up with the solution of adding a record picker element, just purely for the ➕ button that isn't disabled. I think the hover message means that the Airtable team is working on it, but not sure what the timing or issue is. Anyone know?

Hello. I am currently on the "Team" plan and by mistake one of our collaborators ended the available automations. Because from this workspace we manage two companies we need to resolve it urgently, although unfortunately after 24 hours of contacting the Airtable Team we still have no response. The recommended solution is to upgrade the current plan. Given that it is a specific situation that should not be repeated, what would be the best way to resolve it? It's okay if I have to pay.1 - Upgrade my current plan to the Business Plan, hoping that this will reset the automation count and then return to my current plan.2 - Since my current plan is annual, if I keep it (not upgrade) but change it to a monthly plan, will this reset the automation count? If you have any other solution I would appreciate it.It seems like a very bad idea to have to change your plan because you made a mistake. A change of plan should only be due to permanent needs of the company.Greetings.UPDATEI really feel very f

I'm having trouble updating a date field with results from a formula. Please helpMy desired outcome is the following: When the user updates the "last communication date" field, then Airtable will automatically update the "next communication date" to be 7 days after the "last communication date." This allows the user to manually update the "next communication date" if desired but doesn't make that step mandatory. What I've Created:-Editable "last comm" field-Formula field "calc next comm" with this formula: DATEADD({last comm}, 7, 'days')-Automation set to update "next comm" with the data from "calc next comm"Error from Automations Test:"Field "next comm" cannot accept the provided value: Could not convert string to date." The user kuovonne previously provided this answer to a very similar question, and it seems like it should resolve my question."If it is a native Airtable automation, the display of the time shouldn’t matter. Your formula of  DATEADD({Estimated

I have two automations set up that send me reminder emails when my records hit a specific date condition.  It is a "days remaining" type of condition.  I want to wake the base up every morning so that it can update the records and send the appropriate reminder emails.  Do I need to have the schedule automation first in the list so that it performs that first or does it not matter?

Hi,I am new to Airtable coming from Xano and using Thunkable as my mobile front end.In Xano I can create and API endpoint which will allow me to search for a specific value in a column in a table.  I see that I use the AirTable API to get a record but that is by record id.If I wanted to search by a field, email address for example, how would I accomplish this?ThanksSteve

I have synced my calendar (using sync to an external calendar option under share view) to my google calendar on my laptop. I see the events from that calendar there. On my phone, I have set up to see google calendars. When I look at a date that I know there is an event for, I do not see it. Any ideas as to why I would see it on the desktop calendar, but not on my phone?

I have created a space for the company that my clients can access to see their results (in a control panel, interface). But in order to see their results, currently, they have to create an account on airtable (which is strange for them since it is my company that provides the service)I want to know if it is possible that they can access to their dahboard (interfcae) without logging into airtable, or something similar, it is very important for me.Thank you

Hello. I have a table with a field I want to copy and paste into a new table. Seems like a simple thing to do, yet I cannot find out how. Any insight? Much appreciated.

Hi there. I am not a habitual Airtable user, nor am I much of a tech person, so I apologize if this question has been answered and I wasn't able to find it.I am developing a database for my perfume collection using Airtable, and for most parts of this project it's great. I would really like to be able to track the dates that I wore each scent (currently I do this in a hand-written notebook, and I have years of data that I'd love to input). I can't figure out if this is possible or how I might do it. I have seen both "no" and "yes?" posts but nothing definitive or for what sounds like the kind of tracking I am doing.Thank you very much in advance!
