I’m new to Airtable, and trying to understand the big picture of what it can and cannot do when it comes to app building. We have a need to build an app that displays customer & internally submitted ideas, with a navigation (tree?) of Products & their categories to help filter results. I see we can allow non-paid users to submit ideas via a Form, see results as read only, and possibly interact with some additional Form / automation work arounds for things like voting and comments on other people’s ideas (hopefully without making it cumbersome to the user). I’ve experimented with Interfaces a bit to review what kinds of elements are available, and am exploring templates. Questions I still have: It is possible to have just an expandable tree of Products and their Categories in one element, that when selected filters a second list element? We would be starting with 30,000 records, and would need to filter down the view. The Record Picker ele

Does anyone have experience with integrating the SSO capability with Google Suite. Specifically I am wondering if the Google permissions override the Airtable permissions or is this integration just to allow users to use the same login for both services. Thank you in advance.

Hi, I’m new on using this product and we are trying to integrate this into our system. I managed to setup the api and make some requests however, during my testing in the list records api with `POST` method. I was trying to use this parameter `returnFieldsByFieldId` in the request body but got an error stating this..```{ "error": {      "type": "INVALID_REQUEST_UNKNOWN",      "message": "Invalid request: parameter validation failed. Check your request data."  }}```Mentioned parameter works with `GET` request. Tried a bunch of boolean equivalent for this parameter like-  1-  true-  True-  TRUEHoping someone can help. TIA.

Hi folks, I’ve searched and attempted to fix this on my own to no avail. Whether on my iPhone or iPad I cannot get the images I take within Airtable (using their camera inside the app) to save to my devices camera roll. I have toggled the app setting for this on and off multiple times in an effort to get it to work and my version of the app is the latest. Any ideas?

Dear Airtable Team,I have encountered some difficulty when working with tables that have many columns. Currently, to view the information on the far right, I can only use the mouse to drag the horizontal scrollbar at the bottom of the webpage. This method is inefficient and somewhat inconvenient.I would like to suggest considering improvements to the horizontal scrolling functionality, such as: Enabling horizontal scrolling of the table using the mouse wheel; Alternatively, implementing a canvas-like mode similar to Photoshop, where holding the spacebar and dragging with the left mouse button allows users to pan across the table smoothly. Such features would greatly enhance the convenience and efficiency of navigating wide tables. Hi Team,Need help to get this function running.I’m trying to build a formula that could work as linked field.So far, I managed to create the formula to combine the columns into “Product” column. However, I still need to copy past to the column “Products” to link to the Products table.Wondering if there is any way to create formula on linked field to make it all in one.Or at least, a script to create the links without need to copy past every time. 

trying to store latest revision on a HEADER record from multiple rows (each with an ascending revision) in the same table. The first row far right on HDR should be the max of 4 shown below. currently says 0.Have two views - HEADERS ONLY and REVS ONLY - so created a link to another record to use rollup.When there is a new revision in the REVS ONLY VIEW - I try to fire an automation that detects the new rev, and automatically copies the ME35 number into the field I use for the link…. argghhargghh…..does not want to work !!!! Hello, I’ve been using Airtable for years, but haven’t looked at Interfaces since the last massive overhaul they got. I am building a revenue model that is based on several variables: estimated pax, estimated discounts, and tentative pricing. I would like to be able to play around with different inputs for each of my products (which would be the records), and compare outputs: gross revenue, profit margin, etc. It seems to me that we did this at my old company using the old Interfaces, but now I’m at a loss figuring out how to set this up. Basically my question is which of the Interface types should I select, and where/how do I configure fields to make them editable within the Interface?

I am trying to embed a domain restricted view and/or base onto a website. I've used a Google Site and Notion now and tried it with a view and a base. Chrome consistently works just as intended but Safari does not. In both cases, the embedded view/base loads a little cartoon plant and says I need to sign in. This is important because the cartoon plant is unique to embedding. That means that the embedded view/base recognizes that it's embedded in both Safari and Chrome. I then click sign-in, it opens a new tab, I sign in, and then it says I can close the tab and go back to the embedded view/base. I do that and nothing has changed for Safari or Chrome. The difference is I simply have to refresh Chrome and then it recognizes that it's authenticated, no problems. In Safari, I refresh and it looks exactly the same, still asking me to sign in as if I'm not already signed in. I'm pretty sure that this is a bug in Airtable that needs to be addressed and not something particular to my setup.

Hi, I need to extract text from multiple (thousands) of PDF files and load it to Airtable so that I can read that text by AT script, each portion of text for each file. Files are stored locally, and I wrote an uploader, which can, for example, for each loaded 200 files (file1, file2 etc…) create new table with 1 record per file. I can use bulk conversion by Acrobat (to doc, html or txt format) and upload those files in the same way. The question is - what format could be used to retrieve the text by AT script? For now I see that I need to write some node.js script (with pdfjs) that will retrieve the text, or remix some AT extension using API to upload text. Can it be done with less efforts? I didn’t consider, at least for now, using 3rd party tool subscriptions because I cannot tell for now how often it be used. maybe one time, maybe more and more, with the total of files up to hundred of thousands. Hello!I’m working on moving our team into an interface for a better UI experience (and for more control on what is seen and editable). We currently have our work split among two tables (actually there is also a need to connect a completely separate base, but one problem at a time).Is there a way for me to have dates from both tables in one single calendar view that I could have as an interface page? The tables have a parent (projects) and child (tasks) relationship where the tasks are linked to the project record. However, not every project has a connected task.Can I build this with lookup tables and formulas and automations?

Hello Airtable Support,I noticed that in the Timeline view, it’s currently not possible to display expanded hierarchies in the same way we can in List or Grid view. Additionally, it’s not possible to double-click and edit date fields directly on the Timeline view, which would be extremely useful for making quick adjustments without switching views.Would you consider adding these capabilities in the short term? They would greatly improve workflow efficiency, especially when working with projects that have nested tasks and need rapid date updates.Thank you for your attention and for all the great improvements you’ve been making to Airtable!Best regards,

Some cells have a lot of content, and the height is set to be larger; for some cells, the content is less, and the height is set to be smaller. Excel can do it, why can’t airtable do it?

I have a table with 8000 records that lists out where in our warehouse we keep our items. I’d like to group the locations of the same item by listing the locations in one cell and deleting the duplicate records. How could I go about doing this? I have an automation that has two find actions.Find a record (a person) on table 1  Find an interaction on table 2 After the two find actions have run, I have a conditional logic group in order to update the record from table 1. In the first condition, I want to check if a value from Table 2 exists on the record found on Table 1. The value is a formula field on Table 2. However, when I try to make a condition using a formula (either “Activation name” or the array version of that formula, “Activation name array,” it is greyed out and gives the error Cannot assign list of string with strings. How can I use a formula as a condition here? 

Hi everyone, Table A is meant to be just an overview of the project. The start dates, deadline given, and date returned will be entered manually as they change often. Here is a screenshot of the relevant part of Table A.Table A Now I’m creating Table B. In Table B I want to keep track of how long it took the team to finish each phase and each stage. I am slightly confused as to whether this functionality exists, GPT seems convinced it does but I can’t make it work.I am on the ‘teams’ plan for reference. What am I looking to achieve:Via interfaces, filter records from my ‘People’ table. (straightforward enough) Then select these records in bulk (100+ of them). I am using a grid as this allows me to tick all the records nice an easily. The problem comes when I want to update a field for all of the selected records. The purpose of updating this field is to move them to another table - ‘Projects’.  I have found 2 potential solutions: An automation that adds a new record into the relevant project based on a dropdown.  A script trigger by a button within interfaces that moves the selected records to the designated place. I am no geek when it comes to sheets, most of the stuff I do comes from watching a video on youtube. I have a retail booth at a flea market and I get  my items from various resources, Some items come from estates that I buy, some from garage sales, some from a local auction house etc. I use the cents in the pricing to help identify where the items were purchased. For an estate sale, the price would be, for example, 10.31, so I can look at the daily sales report and immediately identify every item sold ending in .31came from the estate sale. What I’m wanting to do is  list the different sources I use and have sheets track and total each item based up the cents.  So in the Cell that has a heading Estate Sales, create a sum formula with the criteria of searching the sales report looking for every item sold that ended .31 Thanks in advance for the replies.  If this isn’t possible, is there a way to copy and paste selected random cells.  When I highlight multiple cells using the ctrl tab

Are there any plans to make a more robust print/export/embed functionality in the Interface feature? I know there are some graphs that can be printed, but I want to be able to export the full Interface as a PDF. We are using the Interface for an org-wide dashboard of our shared goals and the best way I could figure out how to do it was to take screenshots and recreate it in a separate program, which in addition to being cumbersome, creates a low-quality final product. Can you please prioritize this feature so we can use the interface as a share-able dashboard with a broader audience? We don't want to have to have everyone in our org to have to log into Airtable to see the dashboard, we want to be able to embed, print, and share.

Hi, I’ve recently downgraded from a team account to the free account. I duplicated my bases to make sure there were less than 1000 records and archived older data but I’m still getting the error. I’m not using any attachments or AI automations. Is there another criteria I should look for as I’d like to continue adding data to these bases.

Hello im trying to build an ERP for my food business we manufacture and package fast food, so my main goal using airtable is to control raw materials, receiving of raw materials, production control, finished product control, recipes, and inventory.Since my Finished product (recipe) consists of various ingredients, im wondering if its possible to populate said ingredients taken from my recipe table to my production table every time I add (manually) the quantity of items to be produced in the day. or if the is a simpler solution would be great, im trying to control de raw materials consumption during production.    

Hello! I am struggling to create an easy database template for importing data from a manual CSV export with some weirdness to it. Then an interface for data visualization that once was done using a platform that linked directly with the app generating the data. The app generating the data exports two CSV files, one for a list of “interactions” and one for a list of “buttons”, so I started with a table for each with the same fields. Each interaction row contains a lot of data pertaining to the user, so I added a 3rd table of Users in Airtable, and just made those fields in the Interactions table lookup fields to pull from Users. The Interactions can have up to 12 Buttons, and the export has several columns for each button - some of it is unique to the interaction and some applies to every use of that button, so I have put that info in the Button table and the fields in Interactions are now a lookup.
