Hello, I have a problem with an automation that works intermittently. I tried to follow the errors one by one to try to understand why sometimes it works and sometimes not! First records are created in a table (A) from a “Typeform” form which also fills in a “Parent record ID”. Then the automation must update records on another table (B) found from the “parent ID”. There is no problem to create the records on Table (A). But the automatism which is supposed to update the table (B) does not always work… it drives me crazy! An automation that is incorrectly configured never works! An automation may occasionally fail for x reasons. But when it only works 2 out of 3 times… it’s weird. Note that these issues arose after the new “conditional actions” were implemented last week…not sure if it’s related. Have any of you had issues like this? Thank you for your help.

Hi Community,I have interface with many layouts and with most, I have to allow users to (+ Add Records )  but then if they x out of that window it still creates an empty record and links it! how can I prevent this behavior and still give users the ability to link and or create new records from that button? If users change their minds and decided not to create a new record and just click the X button without putting any data records still getting created! Appreciate any input

Hi Everyone, I am struggling to develop a formula to determine which position in an array another field is located. Here is my example: The Array of Trans# is 2239, 4539, 4792, 8912, 10394 I am trying to find a formula that says Trans# 4792 is in position 3, Trans# is in position 1, Trans# 8912 is in position 4, etc. I can use FIND to tell me the starting position of the string, but cannot figure out to determine which position Trans# is. I want to show the previous email exchange I had with my contacts. “I want to create an Interaction table” with the following fields: (Number of emails, Total interactions, Last interaction, Last email received, last email sent) a. How can I connect my Gmail/Outlook to Airtable for that? For calendar events (google/microsoft): I want to have the following fields. -last time I had a calendar invite with someone -last time I invited them to an event -last time they came to my event How would I automate/formulate this so it appears on my CRM? Have spent the day trying to figure out what I'm doing wrong and I'm totally stumped. Trying to write a formula to populate a status. If a person's start date is today or after, and their end date is today or after OR end date is blank, return "Onboarding." If a person's start date is before today, and their end date is after today, return "Active." If a person's start date and end date are in the past, return "Alumni." Those are working fine. BUTI also want to return "error" when there is something in the start date and the end date is empty. In my table there are two people with a start date, missing an end date, and it's returning "Alumni." Formula pasted below...Help! Hi AT Community,I'm creating an automation email within Airtable that uses percentage field data from my table.  I have set the precision to one decimal place (1.0) in the field column. However, when testing the automation, the preview shows that the token data percentage with 10 decimals (1.000000000), which looks ridiculous. Anyone know why this is happening? I know the workaround is a single-line entry, but I'd prefer to be able to enter the data as the percentage number, as that's how the information comes to us.Appreciate your help!

Hello!I'm creating a base that will capture all of my sales. The base consists of a customer table, products table, sales table, and I'd like a goals table. Ideally, the goals table would be have a column for the month/year, my goal amount of sales for that month, the actual sales made, and then a column that tells me how far from (under or over) the goal I am for that month. Similarly, I'd like to do the same for yearly goals, where it can show me the yearly goal total (based on the sum of each month in that year I'd set), what my actual sales for the year are, and how far from my goal (over or under) I am. My sales table already captures mm/yyyy and individually the month & year for the date of the sale so I'm pretty positive I can link a sale to the monthly goal record based on that month/year field with an automation.I'm just hitting roadblocks with how I show both monthly and yearly in the same table. Hello, Table 1= I have a list of workshops and a multiple select field "date" which allows me to record all dates when this workshop will be organized the next year. Each line has a unique workshop linked to several dates.I have another table, table 2 or program, where each line is built by a workshop given at a fixed date.I would like to automatically fill in the table 2. That is to say I would like to create a new record in table 2 when a date is added in the multiple select field of table 1.Is this possible? (I manage to create the record, but not to extract the value of the date entered in Table 1 to fill the calendar field of Table2). Many thanks for your help!

I’m using the following formula to take a record from one field to update a record in another field. IF({production Pipeline} = "Media Delivery", "Media Coordinator") & IF({production Pipeline} = "Ingest", "Media Coordinator") & IF({production Pipeline} = "Transcripts", {Assignee})Now I’m writing a similar formula but the record has multiple selections and there are too many combinations to use the same formula, so rather than use “=” I would like to use “contain” but I can’t find a way to express contains.I’m trying to get the formula to say  IF({production Pipeline} CONTAINS "Transcripts", Assignee) Is there a work around for thisI tried “!=” and “>=” and “<=” that does not return the desired results

Hi, I'm having a little trouble with a project.I have a table called "Report" with the report names, submitted by, email address, and attachments and another table (Contact list) with a contact list with just names and emails.My customers have to fill in a form, and this fill in the main table (report table). My question is, how can I check if the contact that submitted the form (submitted by) is already on the contact list? I would like to do like a checkbox, so I can link an automation to this column and send me an email with the contact information of people that have not been on the contact list.I can't automatically add new people to the contact list, because that table is synchronized to another base.How can I solve this problem? I thought about the function lookup, but I wasn't able to apply it. Thank you very much!

No idea, why my every attempt to paste data via the API fails.Now, I try to paste the complex string to the column of type "long string".Data sample:   ["https://app.clickup.com/t/123","https://app.clickup.com/t/456"]  When I paste it manually, it works fine and I see in the airtable.But when I push this data via the API, I get an error  ERROR: Your request is invalid or could not be processed by the service Cannot parse value "["https://app.clickup.com/t/123","https://app.clickup.com/t/456"]" for field tasks  PS: the same data goes to the google spreadsheet just fine.

Hello, I do have a table with 10k rows in it. The table contains WooCommerce orders (including the address from both the buyer and recipient). Each address has about 5 different columns (i.e. address, second address line, postcode, ZIP etc.).So what I need to do is to append both address types (buyers address and address of recipients) in the same columns. At the end it won't make any difference if it is an address from the buyer or recipient. All data should be in the same columns.So at the end there should around 20k rows in the table (containing the addresse of both buyers and recipients). I.e. row 1–10000 should contain the buyers addresses and in the same columns from row 10001–20000 the addresses of the recipients. How can I add 10k more rows and copy paste the values from the columns (recipient) in the corresponding columns of the buyer? Thanks a lot for help, Michael

Hi,I use n8n to do some automated data collection that i want to store in the Aritable.I get the current date in the n8n with the code var data = DateTime.now().toFormat('dd/M/yyyy'); return { json: {Date: data} } the output is  [ { "Date": "27/6/2023" } ]  The format seems to be valid, due to the airtable date documentation  As the next step, i add some extra data and append it to the table, i get the error Cannot parse date value "27/6/2023" for field Date  That is super confusing because the format is exactly as in the documentation: {name: 'european', format: 'D/M/YYYY'}  

Hello.  I'm new to Airtable, but have some experience in other db applications. I am creating an app to track trading.  I have a trade table where details about each trade are stored.  It also stores the result of the trade in a field called TradeResult.  I made a grid view where I summed TradeResult grouped on TradeDate so I know the total results for each day. What's the best way to display that in calendar view?  I'd like to be able to look at the calendar and see how each day went. And not to be greedy, but if I could display the weeks total result on Saturday, that would be perfect.Any help is appreciated.

Hi There! Fairly new to airtable - and loving it! Context: I’m in the process of developing an interface whereby users can view or create ‘parent’ records, whilst also being able to view and update linked child records. Currently you aren’t able to ‘create’ linked child records in an interface (unless you do them one by one), so I’m looking for a workaround to create those records via clicking a button in the interface to trigger running a script via automations. The script would work on basis of: For this record > create X no of linked records in ‘child table’ (X = numerical value in ‘no of child records’ field) Problem I know there are multiple script examples out there that deal with creation of multiple linked records (namely the script developed by @ Kuovonne in 2020)- but I’m struggling to adapt them to my use case as a lot are built in the scripting app, and throw up errors when using them in scripts within automation . I have this working formula to return 'Reaction Hours'...ROUND(DATETIME_DIFF({Reacted Date & Time},{Request Date & Time},'minutes')/60,2) If the request and reaction times are equal, 0.00 will be returned (correctly).  But then I embed it in an IF statement (simply to prevent #ERROR outputs if 1 of the input fields hasn't been populated yet)... IF(AND({Reacted Date & Time},{Request Date & Time}), ROUND(DATETIME_DIFF({Reacted Date & Time},{Request Date & Time},'minutes')/60,2),"") Now it works fine apart from the situation where a zero is returned, in which case the result is empty/blank.  Both date fields are present, so the first part of the IF statement is triggering, but for some reason the 0.00 value is replaced by empty/blank.  Any ideas why?  

As the topic suggests, i'd like to create a formular field using the API and assign a formular value. The purpose is to use RECORD_ID() as a primary key for my records. I have made a call using the API to attempt to do this but i'm getting a validation error.I will be grateful for any pointers, thanks.

Hello. I've just started using Airtable today. I've created a database of workshops for my job. I have add a calendar view, which shows the workshop title and facilitator. It all looks great! However, when I subscribe to this calendar through Outlook or Google Calendar, it only shows the workshop ID. How can I also display at least the title, too?Thank you!

Greetings. i am having difficulty narrowing down the conditions for an automation. I want to activate this condition in my automation only if the name of a specific linked record contains the word “Conversation”. I could not make it work using the the linked record name, so i tried creating a Lookup Field that would just reflect the value of the Record name that i wanted. But it still does not work. Is there a way to accomplish this? Thanks for any help you can give!

Hello. I am setting up automation and need to program "To" to grab the emails from a field in my airtable base.  For example, when I need to send a report to just the operations department, I want to assign that report to that email group.   I use Outlook Email for the automation.   Here are some screenshots.   I can't get the automation to recognize a field I enter with the email addresses.      I tried a field using the addresses as one line separated by a comma and then tried three fields with a different email address in each.  Neither worked. What am I doing wrong or is there a better way to handle this? The PDF is generated by PDF Generator API if that makes a difference.  Thanks. Wendy
