Hello! I am trying to create timestamps of the start can completion date based off of a status field I have set up. I have a status field, a Start Date field, and a Completed field. The status has the single selections of “To Do”, “In Progress”, and “Completed”. I have set it up, so timestamps are automatically populated into the Start Date and Completed fields based off of “In Progress” and “Completed” status. I wanted to know if there was a way to clear the records within the Start Date and Completed fields when the “To Do” status is selected? Is this possible? Thank you in advance for the help!

Help! I have an automation set up that when a new record is created in one table, to create a list of ‘to-do’ items in another table. Both tasks are related by their matching ID’s. (It’s a monster of an automation, so I had to shrink it to fit! lol) The problem is that when a new record appears in the 1st table it ‘fires’ the automation, right? But most of the time it is ‘firing’ so fast that it misses the ID number in the 2nd table and JUST lists all of the ‘tasks’. What am I doing wrong here??? Thanks, DG

Hello all! I am working on a project where I am inputting data that we collect into one table based around different areas we collect from and how many days it took to collect data. In the other table, I have been manually updating the rate of collection. It is structured by: Column 1 - Date Data Collected (with some repeat dates as multiple collections happen in a single day sometimes), Column 2 - Single Selection Dropdown of the Area Collected From, and then another Column - Data Points Collected. With these columns, is it possible to update data in another table that has a list of all the offices in one column and their estimated rate of collection in another column based on new data input into the first table. I hope this makes sense and thank you for your help!

I have a table which has a Payout Month Column, which is a formula: DATETIME_FORMAT({Check-in date}, 'MMMM') How can I add the month number in front of the Month word (ie: 1 Jan)?

I need an automation that, when there is a new record received in one table, to check a box with the matching ID in another table. THE BREAKDOWN: I have a (unique ID) four-digit “Repair Order” in table1 that, when the balance = $0, sends out a “Cust Survey”. The ‘Survey’ is identified by the same (unique ID) four-digit “Repair Order” number. WORKING PERFECTLY! I then have the “Survey Results” table, or table2. When a new set of ‘Survey Results’ are received in table2, we need to locate and match the “(unique ID) four-digit “Repair Order” number in table1 and check the “Survey Received” checkbox in that table. All the sudden I can’t think of a flow for the automation!?! I do know that I can’t LINK the tables because there is nothing in table2 to link to… right? PLEASE HELP ME!!! DG :heart:

Hello all, I’m trying to figure it out for weeks to solve this problem. Base A : I want to get address data (zip code) + buying rate from this base Base B : I want to get address data (zip code) + selling rate from this base Base C: When I write that specific address/zip code and it matches with the address in Base A and Base B, I want to see buying rate and selling rate in separate columns automatically. So it is like; zip code base A + zip code base B = buying rate base A + selling rate base B in base C That would be great if you could help me to solve this issue because I’m about to lose my mind :slightly_smiling_face: What is the right way to do it? Is it by a formula? Is it by something else? Please help me. Thank you.

Hey there I still don’t get AirTable to the fullest and would appreciate some help. I got a database with Birth Dates and managed to find out peoples ages with the TONOW formula. I would want a second row telling me wether the Date filed is more then 4380 days ago or not. I tried something like IF(Date > 4380 days ago , “True”, “Not True”) As this does not work - what can I do instead? Thx for any hint.

Hi Everyone, First time posting a question here :slightly_smiling_face: I have a grid with different jobs, and I’d like to create a form for people to apply to the jobs posted. I’d like to enable people who submit the form to choose a job title and company from a dropdown. I’d also like the enable them to upload their CV and cover letter, but without it affecting the fields in the grid (I don’t want the grid to include the files). Once submitted I’d like an automated email to be sent to the employers with all the details of the applicant (I’ll have the relevant email for each company in the grid, so I’ll have to pull this data in the automation). Pour la mise en forme, lorsqu’on sélectionne un champ pour modifier sa taille par exemple, c’est la valeur de la précédente sélection qui reste affichée. Je ne sais pas si je suis très clair, pas facile à expliquer : je sélectionne un champ qui est en “taille 13” pour le modifier en “taille 16” lors de la sélection du champ suivant pour effectuer la même opération, le champ s’affiche en “taille 16” alors qu’il est toujours en “taille 13” et c’est vraiment pénible… déjà que Page Designer n’est pas très ergonomic ça le rend carrément ingérable. I’ve set up the following formula in an effort to show either the data that is entered into the ‘Invoice Contact Overwrite’ field, or if that is blank, then to show whatever is in the ‘Company’ field. IF({Invoice Contact Overwrite}!=BLANK(),{Invoice Contact Overwrite},Company) This formula has been applied to a field called ‘Invoice Contact’, that’s where I want the result to show. In this case, the formula is only showing data that has been entered into the ‘Invoice Contact Overwrite’ field and for anything that doesn’t have any data, it is showing as blank, rather than adding the Company name. Am I missing something? We use a variation of this formula to create a ‘Final Fee’ by showing whatever is in our ‘OS Fee’ field, but if our ‘Fee Overwrite’ field has data entered, then the ‘Final Fee’ is updated to whatever is reflected in the ‘Fee Overwrite’ field. Hello, I’m new at scripting and have, I think, a basic question if someone can please help me. I want automate the creation of pre-filled fields with the script app. I’ve been able to run that successfully for basic ‘text strings’. But now I’m trying to add data to a field that is formatted with ‘duration format’ and I haven’t been able to make it work. I want to change a date field to a create date in a base that already has records in the base. When I do that, all the dates in that field get converted to today’s date. Is there a workaround to have today’s date added to a field when a new record is created without modifying the existing dates in the field?

I need to create and save my own custom base template for strictly personal use (i.e., not for sharing.) I need to create dozens of bases with the same exact schema (field structure). I can only find information on sharing bases, not on saving a custom base as a template for your own personal, repeat use.

I have a list of tasks in my table and a date range for each task. The date ranges are entered into two different columns, Start Date and End Date. Each of those are formatted as dates. I’d like another column to list all the months that are included in that ranges of dates. So for example, if Start Date is Jan 1, 2020 and End Date is April 30, 2020, I’d like the Months column to list Jan 20, Feb 20, March 20, April 20. Is there a formula for this?

Happy weekend all! So I have built myself two awesome automations: Creates 10 tasks for each record added Email me the list of ‘tasks’ for each new record added So when I ran the 1st automation it ran flawlessly! It was #2 that boogered me all up! It sent 10 emails for each new record… each with all 10 tasks listed beautifully! PROBLEM/OPPORTUNITY: The issue I am running into is that the 1st automation is running from where the new record lives. I found that if I add the ‘send email’ option with the same trigger, it emails an empty list (I’m guessing because it is sending the email before the list is populated). I’m sure this is an easy one, but Its been a loooong week already. As always, thanks for your time! DG

Hey y’all – I am working on a local school board campaign and looking to map both the precinct locations in our district as well as our yard sign locations to make sure we’re balancing visibility across the district. I’ve got a Precinct table with address, # of registered voters, # of voters in our universe, etc. as well as a Signs table with address, location type, sign size, etc. I’ve already created an Map app block to display sign locations which is working great, but I’d love to pull in the precinct locations onto the same map block so that we can visualize around those locations. Is this possible? Suggestions on how to do it? My clunky workaround is that I’ve just been adding the precincts in as sign locations and making them a different location type and color coding the markers, but I’d love to have a cleaner experience that maintains the precinct name from the precinct table. I might be overthinking, but would love suggestions!

Hello, I am trying to work with three levels of categories that each have their own totals. This is the way they should work. The top category has a sum of all the sub- and sub-sub categories, the secondary level sums itself and the tertiary categories. I realize that this is simple in Excel but it seems as though it might work with some linked fields. I have a budget entry table where you can select the three types of categories for each record, as applicable, And then I have tried various scenarios to get something similar to this table that has an overall total for the first category. Are there better ways to try and do this? Thank you for any help you can give!

I’m trying to workout a formula to identify a text field that starts with “The”, or “A”, and move the “The” or “A” to the end of the text string with a comma. So if the field said The Blue Book, I want it to say Blue Book, The Or at the very least I want to delete “The” or “A” from the start of the text string, but not from Elsewhere in the string. Can anyone point me in the right direction?

For some time now I use the attachment field to store images, and I had “show attachments in reversed order.” option toggled on. Now, I want to toggle off “show attachments in reversed order.”, but keep photos in same order. How can I accomplish that without doing it manually, since I have a loot of files and reccords? Hi all! I’m new to Airtable and trying to figure out how to pull multiple variables out of a single long text field. I’m pulling the Description from an event in Google Calendar and syncing it into a Description field in Airtable. This field will have some things defined in a predictable pattern, such as the Zoom URL, name of the presenter, etc. - each corresponding to a field that exists in Airtable. What is the best way to set this up to be parsed through in Airtable? Is there a tutorial out there that could point me in the right direction? Feel free to suggest something else if I’m going about this the wrong way. Thank you!

Hi there, I am creating a participation tracker that I can use for an upcoming project. The concept: There are 10 different groups, and each group can have 3-10 members. One “leadership” group contains at least one member from each of the other groups, so theoretically each member can belong to up to 2 groups. I have used a many-to-many relationship to link members to groups. Here is what I have: A table that lists all members with their group(s)(& other pertinent info) A table that lists all groups with their members (& other pertinent info) A table that lists all meetings with the members that attended and their group(s) as a lookup field A table that lists all emails and phone calls with the member they’re with and their group(s) as a lookup field What I need: identify how many times a group has participated in some way (meeting, email, or phone call) identify which groups did not attend each meeting identify how many meetings a group has attended A group “attends” a mee

So, a co-worker is leaving our company and she’s set up some Airtable workspaces for her duties. I’ll be helping to train her replacement and am considering moving my collection of Google sheets over to Airtable at the same time. There are some stumbling blocks I’m trying to work through that I don’t have answers for yet and I’m hoping some of you can point me in the right direction. Mostly the issues are coming from importing existing Google Sheets where I track television programs and all the data associated with them. Issues so far are as follows: In GS I have a column containing program titles. On the program titles I have a note that shows up when I hover over the cell. With 1500+ rows I don’t want to have to recreate all these notes. Is there a way to bring them in? I will be doing a lot of my work in AT in the Grid View. Hello! I am trying to set up a timesheet in Airtable and I want a formula or automation to assign a new pay period every two weeks. I don’t care if it is just a number (pay period= 1,2,3,4…etc.) or a single select field or something else! I just need to indicate a change in the default entry every two weeks. My first thought was to set up an automation and set the trigger as a scheduled time (every two weeks). But, I keep hitting a roadblock when trying to set up the action. I do not want to FIND, UPDATE, or even CREATE records… I just want the default field entry for new records to change every two weeks. In my mind, the sentence would be “Every two weeks, add 1 to the pay period number.” Any thoughts on how to get this done?? Thanks to anyone in advance!
