I’m trying to build a dashboard for investors on top of our sales and client data. I don’t want them to have access to the data itself, but only see charts and summarized values. I believe that with the built-in Airtable data visualization tools, this is not possible as I have to give access to the entire base. How would you approach this? Which third-party app would you use for some simple graphs and sums? Thanks!

Hey all. I am trying to use Airtable to manage farming schedules. I’m trying to figure out an automation that would create an entry in one of four other tables, whenever I update a status on a primary table. Specifically, I have a primary table with all the seeds I am using, and one of the field types is a single-select with labels [Seeded, Transplant, Finish, Harvest]. I also have several scheduling tables that correspond to each of those labels. The idea then, is that when I set a seed status to “Seeded”, an entry for that seed would be created in the Seeded table, and so on for the other tables. Would a REGEX_MATCH formula work for this? I have zero experience writing up complicated formulas.

I want only current records to show in a view. There doesn’t seem to be a way to filter for “date created after dateX”, so I figure I can create a field that says “yes” if the date created is after whatever date I put in, then filter on that field. But what would be the formula for saying, "If ‘date created’ is after September 13, “yes”, “no”)? Thanks!

I’m not too sure where I’m going wrong. The Javascript examples I’ve read indicate that this should work, but Airtable isn’t processing them as I’d hoped - and judging from the results I’ll need to modify my script somehow. Hi all, I’ve been spending around 2 hours trying to understand what I was missing in a simple “if X superior to Y, then show X, otherwise show Y”… Here’s a screencast of what’s happening, can’t believe my eyes :Screencastify I have Y = 11.8 If I change X to 9, the formula says X is higher than 9… Very weird behaviour here as shown above. Hi everyone, I currently have a base where there is a column for DIMENSIONS in the form of manual entry formated as such: 12" x 10" x 8" I would like to SPLIT the numerical values into 3 different columns (column 1 = 12, column 2 = 10, column 3 = 8) From my research I have not been able to find an adequate split formula (I know that airtable, unfortunately, doesn’t have an easy way to SPLIT) How best would I go about splitting this information by a split-like formula?

I am trying to count the number of values entered in each cell of a column, just so that I can perform certain automation. like for example, if the column name is 'Colleagues" and the first row in this column contains three names of colleagues. Then how can I automatically detect that there are 3 names/values entered in this cell?

Hi everyone! I have been using Airtable together with one collaborator for a while and reached record limit on one of my bases. Unfortunately, I think the service has a rather steep cost rise for users like me that have few basic bases with one collaborator only but who surpass a thousand records x base. I am currently paying for premium services but none of them is $20 x month with the prospect of having to upgrade to $40 sometime soon. I was thinking of excluding my collaborator from the base workplace (making him not billable) and hence cutting my costs to half. Before doing that, I need to be extra SURE that my base data will remain as it is, and if I eliminate him I won’t lose any records and changes HE had previously made to my base. Can anyone please advise me on how to proceed? Thanks so much.

Hi there, I am using a formula field to pull the time stamp (and t-zone) from a Date and Time field. I am using this formula currently: DATETIME_FORMAT(SET_TIMEZONE({Day 1 - Start}, ‘America/Los_Angeles’), ‘h:mm a’). This works wonderfully, however, if the time and date field is blank (which, in my case, does happen) my time stamp field shows #ERROR. How can I add to this formula so it knows to leave the field blank if the date and time field is blank? Would appreciate all and any help on this. Daniel

Hi, as the title says, is it possible to remove the stickiness of primary tables while scrolling horizontally? It’s irritating because sometimes a field that’s hidden behind it seems to be having a blank title while it’s only hidden. So is there a way? I didn’t find the option to when I right clicked on it. Progressing with Javascript and airtable, was distracted with the thought - can I gear a scripting app button to open a link? I know I that the button fields can open links within a base (but annoyingly their labels can’t be configured on a per record basis). Hey all! I’m stumped. I have a “Link to” column compiling every testing date, then a “Most Recent Test Date” rollup column using MAX (VALUES) to list back what the most recent date is. However, sometimes we schedule testing dates in advance. HOW do I get a column to determine what the most recent testing date is before TODAY? Thanks so much!!!

Hi there, I’m using airtable to compare an actual quantity with a goal quantity, then using an If, Then statement to tell me whether I’m at my goal, need to increase, or need to decrease my actual. Here’s my current formula: IF({% of total}={Goal % of total}, "OK", IF({% of total}>{Goal % of total}, "Trim", "Expand")) This is working fine, but what I would really like is if I were able to specify a range for values that are “close enough” to the goal. For example if {% of total} is plus or minus 0.5 of the goal, I want it to return OK. Anyone have any thoughts on how to do this? Thanks in advance!

Pretty much what the title says. We have a role in the company that is going to be split. One of the users / accounts was given “Creator” status, and we need to change it back to “Editor”. I’ve done that, but the account can still do all of the things that a Creator can do. Is there a known issue about this problem?

This is a tough one to describe in one sentence. Basically, I have a group of people who “sponsor” one another. There is no real hierarchy. Person A could sponsor Person B who could sponsor Person C who could Sponsor Person A. Some Sponsors might have multiple Sponsees. So I have one field, “Name”, and another Field “Their Sponsor” that links to the Name field. So I can see each Sponsee’s Sponsor, and what I would like is a way to see each Sponsor’s Sponsees, ideally in the same table. And, ideally, when the field “Their Sponsor” is updated, the “Sponsor’s Sponsees” field is automatically updated. Thanks in advance.

I have a formula field that takes 2 datetime fields and creates a “week overview” with them. But value of [Day] 11:59pm in the End Date field seems to round the day up to the next day, which is misleading. Earlier today I responded to a question from a new user here, explaining how she could hide a field on a locked view and keep the field hidden from non-creator users by making it visible only on a personal view configured by the creator. I then had to add that this is security theater (I think that’s the phrase we use these days) because in truth, any user with editor or commenter privileges can simply duplicate the locked view as a new personal view, which they can then configure to their heart’s content–including making visible the fields that the base creator wanted hidden. After posting my response, I began to feel uneasy, so I looked into this a little more deeply than I have before, and I’m a bit disappointed by what I’ve found. I’m praying someone here tells me that I didn’t look deep enough–that there are better answers to my concerns. Hello Everyone, I have tried watching some videos to no avail… I have a CRM base with many tables. One is [Leads] which I populate with as many different fields as possible to qualify the company. Since I take the time to populate many fields, I then dig into the company and decide if I want to pass them along to sales but I do not want to loose the history of companies I have researched. So I have a pass/fail check box field that is filtered so only the pass appear in that view. I have this table linked with [Sales] so they can enter into the linked field and simply “pull in” leads from the [Leads] table from the + POP Up window. What I would like to have happen is when the sales team brings that record into the [Sales] table it “disappears” from the [Leads] table so it is no longer available. I would prefer an updated field action in the leads record so it can be filtered out of view! I have run a successful TRIGGER in the [Sales] table view by using (when record enters view) or (whe
