I want to create a formula or an automation that automatically sets the “Business Due Date” 16 weeks after the “Onboarding Call Date” whenever a record is entered in “Onboarding Call Date”. I don’t know if there is a formula for this or an automation. Any advice will be helpful.

Hello! I’m trying to set up a Gantt view for our team. The tasks are primary deliveries which last less than a day, and in the view the task is a block that spans the entirety of the day. Not sure if this can be changed to specific slots to show the portion of the day! Added context: my start and end dates are computed (formula) fields. Hello! I am new to Airtable and working on setting up inventory for my organization. We have raw materials that are used in different quantities and combinations in different craft kits which correspond to different books. Multiple materials may be in a kit and the number of each material will be different for each kit as well. Some kits go to two or more books. I currently have a table for book titles, craft kits, and raw materials. I have them linked to each other so that for example, the craft kit “daisy crown” has a field that lists the raw materials needed (white paper, green paper, etc) BUT I’m struggling to figure out how to add the calculation for the number of each material for that craft. A daisy crown requires two sheets of green construction paper whereas other crafts require a different amount. I’d like to link the quantities for each craft so that I can project what I will run out of based on how many kits of each craft I’m making coming up. If anyone has any solutions or

Hi, I have changed the field type of some columns from “Attachment” to “Long text”. However, now I need to go back to the old format without losing the data. If I try to do so, the content of the columns is not converted and it is lost. So is there a way to convert columns from “Long Text” to “Attachment” type ? Thank you for your help, Damien ROCHE

Hi Everyone, I’ve come across an issue where I can’t seem to get the date to print the correct time within a formula. Please see example, I’ve stripped it down ot its bare bones. On the left is a date (and the time is correct). On the right is that date reprinted as a function. It appears to be an hour off. This is the formula for the function (simply reprinting the date): It also gives the same result (incorrect) if I set the time to my time zone, which is GMT. Any help appreciated

Hi, I’ve spent hours on this and I’m not sure what I’m doing wrong. Here’s what I’d like to accomplish: Each row in the table is a person (a child in daycare) I want to automate a way to change the location of their daycare on a certain date I have these columns: Current Location (multi-select) Change Date (date) New Location (multi-select containing the same values as Current Location) I’m trying to set up the automation so that on Change Date it will update Current Location to match the value in New Location, but it isn’t working and I haven’t been able to figure out why. I get a “received invalid inputs” message. Any help is much appreciated!

Context I’ve made an Airtable script to get some info automatically calling an API after populating a single field. Everything is cool besides the fact that one of the fields it’s a linked field to another table. In this case, I would first have to create a new record in the other table and then link it (via the record id) to the table in the first “main” table. Problem I’d like to understand if there’s a way to get back the ID of a newly created record to link the record in the main one. I could read the values in the whole table after creation, filter them and get the ID of the created field. Tho it seems very inefficient since I’d have to read the whole thing just for a single value. I’ve read through the docs but I couldn’t find anything about this use case. Is there a more elegant way that I’m missing? Thanks

My code works, but only if it you’re looking at it on the Monday of this week, otherwise it’s off. I’m able to make this formula work but I keep getting errors when I try to insert ‘WORKDAY’ into it: IF({Original Release Date}, DATEADD({Original Release Date}, VALUE(’’ & {Days Needed Before Release}), ‘days’, ‘’)) I am trying to return the closest workday after subtracting a formulated number of days from my original release date. hello. is there a way to import outlook email attachments directly in Airtable? I have an automation set-up to import the data (e.g. subject, body) from the email, but have been unable to get attachments to come in as well. appreciate any insights.

Hi everyone! As a preface, I’m not a coder and this is new waters for me - but willing and capable to learn! What I’m trying to accomplish: I want to use Airtable as a database to store all my products which will each have their own unique PDF {which I’ll upload to Airtable} and then link said PDF to a QR Code. I’ll print these QR Codes and the expectation is that should a 3rd party {not a contributor} scan the code it links to the PDF in the database. So, I set up the QR app and generate a code pointing to the PDF, when scanned I either get directed to the Appstore to download Airtable, or once I pointed it differently it returned a “[Object object]” string value. In short - I’m against a wall and can’t seem to figure it out! Do I need a unique script or setup from Zapier? Or am I missing something?

Hello, I would like to have some info that is not officially provided by Airtable. I am using airtable to manage a database, which I export to a CSV file. I then use this CSV file as a database for a REST API in this way I am not limited by the maximum 5 requests per seconds imposed by the Airtable API. Where I am wondering is about the files uploaded via Airtable, in my CSV I see that the files are uploaded at this address: https://dl.airtable.com/.attachmentThumbnails/xxxxxxxxxxx If I have a mobile app with 1,000,000 active users viewing the image uploader through Airtable, do I face any limitations or blockages?

Hi, Thanks for your time. I’m looking for some help with a form that allows facilitators to sign up for training sessions. These sessions happen every week and require multiple facilitators. I’m asking for their help, so I want them to have to do them minimum amount of form-filling possible. My ideal situation is: A form in which facilitators can select their name from a drop down list (that bit is fine) A form which lets them select which sessions they are able to attend (this bit is where I’m having issues) And a backend system in which I can see which facilitators are attending a session easily. Hello fellow airtablers… So, im new to airtable, and i want to set up a base for tracking goods in our warehouse… So I made a row called “total in stock” and now i wonder if its possible to set up another row, that will subtract the number entered, from the “total in stock” row? The number entered here, would preferably dissapear afterwards, so that if someone else picks up from the same item, they can also put in the ammount, and it would get subtracted from the total… Hope I explained this understandable, and that someone is able to help. I’m trying to create a simple automation where a slack message is sent when updates are made to a specific record and I get the error “Message could not be converted to a string”. I’m not sure what I’m doing wrong here but I went over the trigger and the message itself but nothing seems to help my cause. For some added context: There is an automation setup already (which works without any issues) that sends a slack message when the record is no longer empty. I am attempting to set an automation that sends a different message when the same record is updated with new values. These fields are synced from an external table within the same workspace. Not sure if this is too many complications or if there is a way to work around it!

I’m reposting this request because my original was closed 15 days after a single reply by a Mac user who suggested a solution that is Mac specific (thanks for the suggestion, though) that didn’t translate to Windows because as speculated, it maps to the Switch Applications hot key combination (). So let’s try this again and hope that some with Windows experience replies within 15 days. I’m on Chrome (latest) on Windows 10 (21H1). I cannot find a key combination that will move the cursor out of a Long Text field. The usual suspects including Esc, “Tab” in various combinations with Alt, Shift and Ctrl don’t do it! I hate having to take my hands off the keyboard to use the mouse just to move to the next cell and then try to find the “home row” on my keyboard accurately with barely perceptible index finger markers. The cell value of the field ‘Stage’ is “This is just some dummy text | this is a string” and it’s searching for “this is a string” (this is called ‘stage’ and is a string from a previous step in an automation). i remains 0 in this case. Can anyone explain why includes doesn’t work on the second condition? Thanks!

Hi, (TL;DR "it triggered on all new records, no matter if conditions are met, when they include formula field) I have following issue: table1 (near 1500 records) has button field “Confirm match”. when a key pressed, the record partly copied to table2 (by my script, ~500 records), linked to it’s “parent” in table1 table2 contains formula field “Control”, relying on some data including lookup from linked record in table1, result is “OK” or “_error” “_error” records supposed to be removed, from time to time. I can’t filter at this step, because sometimes “OK” record in table2 may become “_error” after table1 update. it’s usual process, and it worked as expected. Now I decided to automate cleanup for table2 and setup new automation “When record matches condition”, second step is Remove record, where Control contains “error” (by way, I was surprised that Remove action is not available, i did that by scripting) The problem is that trigger works on records, which supposed to be “OK”, while my

I am using the switch formula to have Airtable populate a numerical value into a cell based upon the input chosen from a multiple select option. Prior to this I was typing the amounts in and it was working properly. Now I have set up the switch to populate the cell and it works and puts the correct number into the cell that the formula was pulling data from, But now I receive an error message in the end cells. Why is this? The cell the formula was pulling from previous has the same numerical values showing in the cells, it is just being generated by the switch formula instead of me inputting it into the cell. Hey folks, I’m trying to calculate the number of days someone has worked in a job. I’m familiar with the DATETIME_DIFF() function, which works great when you have a Start Date and an End Date, but what if you don’t have an end date? In other words, imagine that someone is currently in their position, therefore the field registering their end date is empty. The theoretical solution I came up with is creating another field with the formula TODAY(), and then, if the field for end date is empty, use the field for today to calculate the difference between today and the start date, and calculate the time that the person has worked. I’m having trouble with the syntax! Any thoughts be greatly appreciated.

I have slowly been developing a custom app that interfaces with several external APIs that supply additional data to airtable entries. I started out with the utility as an automation script - here I was able to use remoteFetchAsync() to avoid any CORS issues with my fetch calls. However, since moving to the custom app and React, I am having to go through the proxy at https://cors-anywhere.herokuapp.com/ to run my API calls (and avoid the CORS preflight errors). The issue is the proxy is only for development - I would like to either duplicate what it does myself or find a similar service that does the same thing. I am relatively new to JS and web development, so I am looking for a well documented solution that would be easy to implement in a few hours. Does anyone have any hints on where to look? Since Airtable has the server fetch functionality built in for scripts, is it also possible to use it in custom apps?
