Hi all! So, here’s the use case that spurred some thinking… I have a HUGE, monster of a base that is a bit out of control. It contains many intricate rollups that drive some housekeeping/reporting processes. Now that Airtable Sync is available, I’m working on moving those high-overhead processes out to their own bases in the hopes of speeding up the “master” base. One of those processes is a nightly report. The report is driven off of a view in the master base. I synced this view over to a new base, and set up a duplicate of the report. To test it, I’ve been letting it run the past few nights to compare the new version to the current version… and surprise surprise, they are not the same. Current Report: Runs from source/master base, triggered by a zap that runs on a schedule - every night at 8PM a record is added to a table called [Automation Launcher]. This record triggers a script that aggregates the report data, spits out the HTML which is then picked up and emailed by Zapier. New R

Usability problem when linking to a record from the from the ‘one’ end of a many to one relationship.We visit homes to help people reduce carbon footprint and save money by taking energy efficiency measures.On every visit we recommend or take one or more actions, each of which has a specific ‘deliverable’  that holds standard values for savings etc.The entity relationship is:Visit to action = 1 to manyDeliverable to action =  many to 1We have many different deliverables, over 200. When adding a new action, which is usually done using a form that is prefilled with the correct Visit, the Deliverable field presents a long list that is in seemingly random order. I cannot find a way to sort or group the selection of links. Interfaces do not seem to help.Can anyone advise?  This must be a common issue . . .

Hi All!I am trying to change a single select field in my base to a linked field, with all the single select options populated as rows in a new table. I have a long list of single select options that I do not want to have to re-type manually if possible.I could have sworn this was possible in the past with a right-click action, but I can't find it anymore (or I don't remember right).Thanks,Jaco

I created an interface dashboard with several groups (different charts, different numbers, etc.).  For aesthetic reasons (making the data make more sense to execs), I would like to have 2 groups side by side. For example, I would like to have a YTD group of numbers next to a Month's group of numbers.  The YTD and Monthly data will come from different tables, so they need to be in separate groups.  It seems I can only create a new group below or above another group, but I would like to create a new group next to an existing group.  Is this possible? Thanks in advance!

Hi Airtable community,I am an avid user of Airtable for some time now, and am going deeper into spreading data in different bases (within 1 workspace) and letting these bases interact. I checked some other forum posts and the Airtable notes on how to get tables to sync manually, however am only able to find the below:beyond the manual trigger button, there is no way to directly trigger a sync action between 2 tableswork around is to update a record in a synced table, to trigger Airtable's automated sync actionanother work around, or combined with the above, is to use 3rd party tools eg. Zapier to touch a record and trigger a syncI was hoping for another way to trigger a sync action (API or Airtable functionality) directly eg. by automation, so not by doing the above. But to my understanding this does not (yet) exist. FYI I am on a Team plan. The use case would be to overwrite data for scenario management, meaning different bases represent different scenario's that need updating on

Hello Airtable Community, I've started building a Project management tool on Airtable for a marketing agency that sells consultants time.The Project management part is quite straightforward even though I believe this might change based on the agency needs and internal processes.However, I am now facing some difficulties to implement the "Time reporting" part to this tool. (bases are connected) :   1 - Project (information regarding customer, start/end dates, tasks, sub tasks, consultants,  #total available hours, #total spent hours #nb of tasks completed ...) This is meant to organize projects, track budget and project progress. Use-case: As an Automation user, I have a use-case where I want to on a weekly scheduled (cron) basis query records that meet the criteria in one table and then create new child records of another table to the parent table and then email a consolidated report that includes the newly created childed records to the relevant recipientsCurrent outcome I can use the `Find` action to query for the specific and relevant records just fine, however, it is my understanding that once I use a `repeater logic` block, I can't "exit" the loop and append an Action outside of the repeater block once that the repeater has finished,Is my understanding about this feature limitation correct? Current work-around: I set up two separate Automations, both triggered by a cron schedule:The first Automation is triggered by its cron schedule, finds a list of records and then in a repeater block iterates thru each record in the list and creates a child record of a differ

Hello! I am currently pulling info from Jira into a table, and then pulling Sprint Start / End dates from Jira into another table. Because Jira doesn't expose that information directly, it is pulled into a GSheet, which I then pull into Airtable.The Sprint Name is pulled from Jira directly into my main table, and there is an exact match for each in the Sprint Info table. I created a Link to Another Record field which sources from the Sprint Info table, and corresponding Start / End date Lookup fields based on that table. I created an Automation that looks for any records in my main table that have a non-empty value and updates the Sprint Info 'Link to' field with the value from the Sprint field (screenshot below).When I generate a preview of the automation results, I can see that the Sprint Info linked field gets a value, but when I go back to my table, nothing is actually being updated. Any idea what I might be doing wrong, or a better way to accomplish this?

Hello AirTable Community,I am trying to export multiple AirTable records in one PDF. Concrete case is a list of samples that have several values, I want to create a pdf that will be handed to the lab for testing containing a list of multiple selected records in a nice format, not just a CSV. Are there any tools or extension for that? I couldn't find anything so far. If this is not possible in AirTable, does anyone know a work around? For example exporting a view as CSV and then automatically converting the CSV to the PDF format, maybe in Google Workspace? Or through the interface?Thank you very much!

I need to pull some data from a computed field (actually a filtered lookup field) in Airtable to prefill a form in Jotform. It should be easy as Jotform have introduced the feature (bizarrely under the publish menu) but despite several ways of trying, it will not map to computed fields.My inteded workaround is to map it to a long text field which an automation would update with the value from the lookup field, triggered if the lookup field is not empty. On mapping the fields in the automation, Airtable greys out the lookup field {Instruments} reporting the same issue as occurred whilst trying to mp directly from Jotform, that the field cannot be used because it's computed.I've spent a whole week on this. I've tried converting to text, using a string, an array, and concatenating, but of course, they all need computed fields to hold and reference them.  Anyone know a workaround? Post edit/after thought....Perhaps I can use a script with the same trigger but I'm not really a scr

We're a publishing company and we keep track of content that we publish over the course of the year with these different columns showing publish dates. I'd like to do 2 things:Create 1 column that combines the dates (combining them so that they remain separate would be ideal, but otherwise, it could just be text formatted like this "MM/DD/YYYY, MM/DD/YYYY").Then I'd like to have another column that shows the oldest date and a column that shows the most recent date.Another column that just adds the number of times the content has been published, so counts the number of fields with a date in them.The error you see currently in the far right field had the formula that I tried on my own which was:DATETIME_FORMAT({Publish Date 1}, 'MM/DD/YYYY') & "," & DATETIME_FORMAT({Publish Date 2}, 'MM/DD/YYYY') & "," & DATETIME_FORMAT({Publish Date 3}, 'MM/DD/YYYY') & "," & DATETIME_FORMAT({Publish Date 4}, 'MM/DD/YYYY')A screenshot is attached. Thanks in advance!

Hello. I'm trying to create an IF formula that returns some text if the date field is a specific date. Each date would need its own specific text.e.g. If my date field was 05/01/2025, then the IF formula field would return specfic text (e.g Day 1).The bit I'm struggling with is doing this with lots of IF formulas in the same formula field. (I need about 47 different dates each returning their own specific text. Is this the easiest way to do this or am I missing a trick somewhere? Thanks in advance. 

I've been submitting tests for me event form however there is no restriction on being able to put the end date earlier than the start date. Does anyone know how I can remedy this?Thank you.

I have a project management base. I use the in-built Time Tracker extension to track the time spent on each project. I have several ongoing projects, and I work on more than one project each day. It annoys me that I have to select the project from a relatively long list before starting the time tracker, so I am trying to figure out if there is a way to skip that step.I have a table with clients and another with projects (Project name, Authorized number of hours, Time spent, and Time left). Is it possible to use the button field in the projects table to start the time tracker for a specific project with one click on the button in that project's row? Hello there, I’m using Make / Integromat to create Google Docs and upload them as PDFs to Airtable. Occasionally this results (without obvious reasons) in broken PDF files. While the file name is correct, they’re missing a preview, open as blank and are read corrupted in external PDF apps. The automation completes successfully. If I open the Google Docs PDF export link, the PDF comes out alright. This makes me think the PDF file breaks while being imported to Airtable. Is there a known error, fix or workaround to this? I can’t find an indicator to tell the system the file is corrupted (still has regular file size) to let it redo it automatically. Thanks for your input

Hi,I am new to the Airtable forum but been using Airtable for over a year now. I am trying to create a Gantt view with multiple start and end dates for an employee (the employee has multiple contracts and I want to make sure the contracts don't overlap (too much!) with a visual display. Currently I was able to create a Gantt as seen here:The different contracts are highlighted with boxes, are sourced from a Lookup Field (from a separate, linked table) and separated by commas. How can I make the Gantt recognize the start & end dates associated with each contract? Right now it just shows the employee working (this is hidden off to the left side of the screenshot) from the start date of their first contract through the end date of their last contract, even if there are dates in which they are not working (on the top example 7/7–7/11).The Grid View the Gantt is based from is this: Person#1 is the upper Gantt chart & Person#2 is the lower one. For example, I want the Company details to be blurred.Is there a way to do this in Airtable (the app itself doesn't have any). TIA 

Hello,I am using make to create a google doc using information coming from airtable. I then download the google doc into a pdf that I upload back on my google drive, it works fine.Trouble comes when i try to feed back to Airtable. I have no problem with sending back a URL into airtable to open the document stored on Google Drive.But I do not know how to send the PDF into an attachement field in airtable. Here is my Make scenario:I have tried to insert a google drive share link action before the last airtable action and to pass this share link in the attachement field. Scenario works, and attachement field is populated, but clicking on the attachement in airtable opens a blank document (the direct link to the same document does open correctly).What do I need to do to correctly populate the attachement field?Thank you for helpingPascal 

Hi all, Hoping someone can help with a solution! My company has numerous assets that are “active” for long periods of time. I have a formula to calculate the “Active Status” based on the Asset Launch Date & Asset End Date (see below for reference). I would like to make an additional field that lists ALL dates an asset is going to be active based on the start and end dates (placeholder included in the image above). For example, if Asset Launch Date = 9/1/22 & Asset End Date = 9/5/22, I’d like the ALL ACTIVE DATES field to read: “9/1/22, 9/2/22, 9/3/22, 9/4/22, 9/5/22” Note: This field would be hidden 99.9% of the time and ONLY used in an Interface Filter element to allow users to type in specific dates (i.e. 9/3/22) and see the assets that will be “Active” on that date. If there is another solution you can think of, feel free to leave it here as well! Thank you in advance!
