Hello!I'm new to automation and trying to figure out how to copy data from one field to another when one field is not empty and the other is empty.I have a Tasks Due table and a Reminder field that is a Dateadd formula which calculates a date from data from another linked table. I want to copy that Reminder field and paste it into my Date Due field if the Reminder field is not empty and the Date Due field is empty. Can anyone help? Screenshots of how I currently have it set up. I've tried changing up the conditions, Record ID and field but can't get it to work.Thanks so much for any help you can give!

How can I automatically generate a new record ID in Airtable that continues sequentially from the last number in the existing data?

Hello!There are a LOT of posts regarding the popular error of "Received Invalid Input" but in my search I didn't find anything that was specific to the conditional logic of the automation being the area that returned the error.I've created a video to show how the conditional logic works when the list properties length = 1, but if it = 0, then the conditional logic check returns the "Received Invalid Input" error. Any help is appreciated.

I feel like what I want to do is very simple, but honestly, I'm wasting a lot of time without succeeding. My level of incompetence is quickly reached.So, I have in my Table 1 a Date field and a field that I'll call field N. In my Table 2, there is also a Date field and a Number field.I want AirTable to find the corresponding Date in Table 2 for each record in Table 1, then return the Number field and enter it in the N field of Table 1.I've been searching for the function, but I can't find it. Does anyone know how to do this?"

Hello, I’ve been trying to work this out for hours but I’m afraid my knowledge of airtable formulas is quite nascent. I’ve got this current formula: IF( {Due}="", “”, IF( AND( DATETIME_DIFF({Due},TODAY(),‘hours’) >= 12, DATETIME_DIFF({Due},TODAY(),‘hours’) <= 48 ), “Due Soon”, IF( IS_BEFORE({Due},TODAY()), “Past Due”, IF( IS_SAME({Due},TODAY()), “Due Today”, “Upcoming” ) ) ) ) Which gives me different values depending on how much time is left in the “Due” column. I’m trying to add another variable that says that if checkbox column “Done” is ticked, disregard all the above formula and return value “Complete”. How can I go about doing this please?

Hello,I have a table containing information about clients: surname, first name, end date, etc., as well as the number of hours sold. In another table, I have the tasks for each customer with the number of hours used.I've created an interface that summarises the job information by customer. At the moment, I need to filter by customer to display all the tasks, but I also want to see the number of hours sold directly in this interface.However, to obtain this information, I need to apply two filters:Filter 1 on the Tasks table to select the customer. Filter 2 on the Customers table to retrieve the hours sold. Is there a solution to avoid having to filter twice?

I have been trying to develop a formula to output the amount of work hours between two date/time fields. This is for a base that has Time Off requests for employees.I have a field with a start date like this (9/16/2024 10:00am) and a field with an end date like this (9/28/2024 3:00pm). What is a formula that would calculate the amount of work hours between those two fields, assuming:Work hours are 8am to 5pmExclude 12pm-1pm if the span crosses that time period, since there should only be 8 hours between 8am and 5pmExclude weekendsIdeally, and I realize this is a tall order, it would exclude New Year’s Day, Independence Day, Memorial Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, and Christmas Day for say, the past 5 years and next 5 years.This has been driving me crazy for a long time, and I cannot come up with a reliable solution, even with ChatGPT. Can anyone help?

I'm trying to determine from the API whether a table is hidden or shown, but looking at https://airtable.com/developers/web/api/model/table-model there's no obvious field with that information. Is there another API that has it?

Up until yesterday, when I changed a filtering option, the table would automatically update. Now it doesn't and I have to hit apply to see the changes.I use filtering a lot to test my data - I look at a summation field and check, for example, what is the result when field X >1? >2? Etc. With the filtering dynamically updating whenever I changed it, I'd get instant feedback. Now it's a real chore, not only do I have to hit apply, but the filter box goes away and I have to reopen it, go to my filter choice, and enter my next value to test. Am I missing something? Is this an intentional update? Thanks!

Hi everyone,I'm looking to create a formula where, given a specific day of the week, and a time range, the formula will generate an output, and then write a script where it will take the output and enter it into a Linked Field box. For example, on Wednesdays between 7:20am to 8:00am, I want to generate a result that says "Period 1." 8:06am - 8:50am would be "Period 2," and so on, so forth. We have different bell schedules for different day of the weeks. And then, once it generates the result, I want to have a script run to add the "Class Period" into the empty Class Period box. Is this possible? Thanks in advance for any help that could be provided! 

I've built a powerful "knowledge database" from which I share multiple tables which hold various interlinked records (from one table to another). These tabels are shared across to multiple other bases I run for my businesses, benefiting from a single source of live-linked data.My problem is that the synced tables flatten out any linked records that exist, even if I've also synced the second table which holds the other side of the linked record.We want our users to be able to open and work with these linked records coming from synced tables.Is there any sign of this being improved upon by airtable?Is there any workaround for this?

Hey guys,I have a team that is using the comments in airtable for their communication, where they tag users and user groups. When they tag users the user gets an email notification, but when they are tagged through a user group they do not get an email notification. Is there a way to turn that on?As a side note, I feel that the comments section needs an overhaul in general.Thanks!

All of automations have suddenly stopped working, while they test successfully. It's not about one automation, but for every and each automation in the base. The question is, what could be causing this problem, as everything worked perfectly until now.   

Hi community,I'm struggling to understand why this whatsoever perfectly working tiny piece of script stops doing so when (seemingly) the 'start' date and the 'end' date are not in the same month.I am rather new to Airtable script editor so I couldn't find a step-by-step run mode, or a variable value watcher, but it seems that the 'days' variable is not computed correctly when 'start' and 'end' belong to a different month (for instance, 2024-07-15 and 2024-08-07 - however works perfectly with 2024-07-15 and 2024-07-31, and then 2024-08-01 and 2024-08-07)... leading to not entering the 'for' loop at all.Any clue anyone? Hi! I'm new to Airtable and I'm trying to create a dynamic data base. The goal here is to have a table with Clients info and then other tables that relate to the Clients info table. Let me explain it further: I have a table called Clients info but then I also have other tables such as Spaces (which offices they are renting and other information about these offices), Communication (social media profiles, presentations and others). I want for each record on the tables Spaces and Communication be related to the Client Info table records.How can I do that?Thanks!  

I am trying to extract the first 6 digits from a rollup so that the main column is automatically filled with the resulting ID, but when I use this formula, I get #ERROR in the fields.

To simplify our current workspace, we would like to duplicate our main base (let's call it A) and delete any entries in the duplicated version (B) with a deadline after June 2023. B will be used as archive for our past work.Then we would like to run an automation in A to remove any content with the deadline set till June 2023 (so we are only using what is for use " current content")This is a one-time automation; we do not need it to run multiple times. I have what I suspect is an array issue with Airtable's back-end, but it's preventing me from filtering on the front end, so I would love some help.I have 3 tables: Books, Products, and Authors. A book might have multiple authors, and each author may or may not have a bio. I have made a roll-up in the books table for author bios with this formula: IF(values, ARRAYJOIN(values, "\n\n"), BLANK())I have also tried it with just the ARRAYJOIN, and no if statement.I then have a 1-to-1 relationship between Books and Products. In the Products table, I have a look-up of the roll-up of the bios in the Books table. Here's the issue: when a title has multiple authors, but none of them has a bio, the roll-up should obviously return blank. The look-up in the products table should return blank. But when I filter products by having the look-up be blank, the record in question won't show up. I tried filtering by newlines, whitespace, anything I could think of, but I can't find how AT

Hi there!I need to send calendar invites by email automation to people I book for events. I'm using Make to create the calendar invite and upload it as a file in Airtable.Then, I'm using automations to send the .ics file as an email attachment to people I book for my events. They can then download it from their email and it creates a calendar invite for them. Everything seem to work just fine when I test things.However, I have two types of emails to send via automations : Initial invitation when I'm booking someone to an event :Triggered when the entry matches conditionsSends email with .ics attachmentThis one doesn't work and the error is 'An attachment url is disallowed' Updates (for when something changes such as the event duration) : Triggered when the entry is updatedSends emails with .ics attachmentWorks fine! Any idea why my initial email won't send? My guess is that it's because the trigger is too fast and the file hasn't completely uploaded to Airtable

Hello!I have a formula field set to format as a percent in the table. That field is then part of a linked record lookup field in a table that will trigger automation to send emails. I want to share that percentage in the email. I am working on a database for a daycare. I have a table called Time Sheets with fields Arrival (date), Departure (date) and Duration (duration). (There are other fields in this table to link to each child.)I have a second table called Meals with fields Name, Start Time and End Time (currently they are all single line text). This table has 4 records:Breakfast, 7:30am, 8:35amMorning Snack, 10:30am, 11:00amLunch, 12:15pm, 12:45pmAfternoon Snack, 4:00pm, 4:30pmI want to determine if a child qualifies for each meal based on when they arrived and departed. If the child is present when each meal is served, they qualify. What is the best way to do this? We have formulas to check character counts and they're returning with "over character count" for long text that is actually not over character count because they're adding characters for line breaks. Is there a way to adjust the formula to not include line breaks as a character?For example, this would return 338:Lorem ipsum dolor sit amet, consectetur adipiscing elit. Fusce ac magna volutpat, pretium arcu non, ullamcorper erat. Donec dictum eros in tellus elementum sollicitudin. Morbi sit amet justo purus.
