Base Design

Hello! I am organizing a large amount of photographs. I often have the year but not the specific date. I would like to use Timeline view to see all these photos in their rough year-by-year order. Suggestions? The DATE field makes me list day-month-year. Thanks!Julie

Hi everyone,I wanted to share some feedback regarding the new Airtable design.The new interface feels less comfortable to use, mainly because of the extensive use of bright colors and white across most of the page, unlike before. It feels tiring on the eyes during long work sessions.Also, I noticed that the sidebar can no longer be resized, which reduces the flexibility we previously had.Is there any way to switch back to the old interface, or at least adjust the colors and sidebar size to make it more comfortable?Thank you.

Hello,I made a CRM with interfaces that my company uses (all mobile). There must have been an update because the UI looks different. The primary concern is that when someone tries to comment on a record within their interface, it says “an error occurred” , backs out of the record to the interface, and then when you go back in to the record to click comments there is no comment. I nor anyone else at the company have touched the CRM and it was working perfectly up until this “update” - Also there are a few other issues that have popped up. Is there an explanation or a possible fix to this?

Hi All, Struggling to get the following functionality into a base and hoping you can help a novice here. We are attempting to use Airtable to track & visualise AWS logs for interactions with our service. I the graph above I have outlined a rough schematic on what we are aiming to achieve however we are running into issues with tracking on a daily basis. I’m not sure how to structure our base so that we can gain the ability filter by day, see which products were trending, measure performance based on view count and feed that back to the client’s tag. Ideally we want to enable our clients to change a date field and see the product list re-order as such, with views, revenue etc following. We can populate the records via an API, we are just struggling with the base design.

Hi guys, I am new to this… I am trying to sync my Shopify orders to airtable. If customer order 2 times, how can I separate the 2 items to 2 records instead of all jam in one? We used to manage it on GoogleSheet with zapier, and they have a function of creating multiple lines, how I can do that in airtable? Thanks xoxo

Hello!We have been using Airtable to great success as part of our curatorial process (choosing puppet theater productions from around the world to appear in our annual festival.) Now we would like to use Airtable for other processes like - assessing financial feasibility of each show, documenting production needs for shows that will be appearing in the festival, and archiving information for shows that have appeared in the festival. We also have many venues, many artists, and many countries that the artists are from and we want to track all of that easily as well. We often use forms to get info from artists directly into the Base.  The way I am planning on doing it is with - 1 Base with 4 Tables (Shows, Venues, Artists, Countries), and the Shows table has over 100 fields that are used for various stages of the workflow. In my setup, each of my clients has their own base and interface. They can submit support tickets through their interface, and those tickets feed into a synced table in my team base. I just got my 21st client and it says I cannot add any more sync sources to my support ticket table.I have the support tickets going to a second support ticket table right now, but our support team doesn’t get them in their support ticket feed. I thought maybe I could create an automation that copies the support tickets from the second table into the original support ticket table, but that won’t work because I can’t create an automation to create a record in a table synced to another source. I thought about creating a new base just for support tickets and then syncing that back to my Team Base, but then my team can’t edit the records once they get to the team base.  Is there another way to create a table that syncs all of my clients’ support tickets into one table in my team base that my team can edit?

We are a marketing agency that manages social media calendars for many clients. We love the platform for building the calendars and sharing amongst our team BUT sharing the calendars to the clients for approval is an actual nightmare that I can't solve. 1. We have too many clients to add them as paid collaborators and not be super cost prohibitive2. They can comment but would love for them to just be able to use the direct toggle to click approved to streamline.How are you delivering your social media calendars to your clients? 

right now I have two calendars for my inbound and my outbound dates. I want them both to be on the same calendar

Good day.I have a “whole” staff table, with various “statuses” SOWs, Guests, and FTE.  However, a newer table was linked to the base, with “special” contractor statuses.  I need to have these “added” to the above Full Table, along with their statuses, etc.  The whole needs to be the final source as it’s used across bases.  How might I go about this?  

Hello community, I created a DB to collect startup informations through a form.To impose a synthesis, I need to set a certain limit of characters for “long text” question.I can not find a way to do it with Airtable form, so I am integrating a different tool.Nevertheless, it’ll be more practicle for us to stay inside Airtable.Any suggestion ? Best regards,Marco

I have a decent sized based we’re using as a CRM. Every entry is tagged with a representative’s name in a single select field. Over time, some reps have come and gone, and I don’t want to have their names available to select for new enteries, but I don’t want to lose the data of who made previous entries. What I really wish I could do is toggle certain single select options on and off, but I don’t believe I can do that without losing the formatting that we have now, which is helpful. Anyone know a way around this? Screen shot below of what I’m trying to achieve. I do not want to use an interface to resolve this problem, as my team typically does not use interfaces that are built for them! Thanks for any advice you all might have! 

Hello,I am trying to figure out how to create this base without over complicating it. I have customers who need to request licenses for three different softwares. This needs to be in the same form. They need to specify length and quantity of those softwares.  In the from I'm also asking for basic customer information. I've currently set it up so the customer picks the software from a linked table, with conditioning then asking for 'Length' and 'Quantity' for each selected software. https://airtable.com/shrw2mPLjYm203vkk My problem is, that in my base, I'd like separate records for each software picked by the customer, but I'd like it to happen in one form submission, so the customer doesn't have to do it more than once:  Customer 1: Software ACustomer 1: Software CCustomer 2: Software BCustomer 2: Software C Is there an automation I can run for this? Or just a smarter way of setting it up?

How can I default to opening bases from the icons as it used to be instead of it opening interfaces always when clicking on an app? Very inconvenient for many of my users.

I am trying to use Airtable and Softr to create a page with fund applications for individuals so that I can track which year a fund was applied for and what its status is (ongoing, granted or rejected). It is important that each fund is presented on individual lines through Softr. If you look at the picture, that is how I want it and managed to do it with Google Sheets and Softer. But I am having problems with Airtable. Does anyone have an idea how I can do it?  

Is this base design possible? See image. I need to schedule a variety of sessions categories (29) across a variety of times. Each of the session categories has a varied quantity of allocations. In the photo attached, at the top you can see the session times and the rooms. In each cell is a pull-down list of the allocation type. At the bottom left in the image, you can see the allocation type and the quantity. The table at the bottom sums up the amount of time session allocation abbreviation is entered in the top table and then allows for a horizontal sum calculation.The top table would be very easy to construct. What I’m wondering is if we can make the bottom table a visible entity on the same table? It will be important to see totals as the sessions are allocated. 

Let me first preface these questions with I’m a vet tech not a computer programer/data person, and I’m only doing this for my hobby. I have these two PDF files that I would like to add to my air table to help me classify my model horse show string. I would like to put conditions on the drop down list so If I select one general breed or specific breed or class only a certain list comes up,  Is this possible? Hi, I’m trying to build an event management board. Some of my events are recurring, but the current date data type does not allow multiple ones. Do you have a best practice for it? One way I’m thinking about making a separate date table, and link the event with the dates. But the calendar view looks odd for this date table, as it use dates as the primary id and does not allow me to display big event name on it. Also, I don’t know how to filter the ‘date’ data based on conditions in the event table.  i.e. if I want to only show the dates where the event has been confirmed.  Wonder if you have better options? And if yes, please show me!! If not, how to make my current date table better looking?

Hello everyone,I've been working with Page Designer to create invoices that sometimes span more than a single A4 page due to the length of item lists. In tools like Excel, I've been able to manually manage page breaks and ensure that content flows smoothly from one page to the next. I'm facing challenges achieving this in Airtable's Page Designer.The challenge:When I have a list of items in an invoice that's very long, I need the content to seamlessly flow over multiple A4 pages, maintaining the same design format. This is something I could do in Excel by manually adjusting the beginning balance on a new page, but I'm struggling to replicate that here.Has anyone encountered a similar issue? If so, how did you address it? Are there any workarounds or best practices that you've found effective?I appreciate any insights or solutions you might have!Thanks in advance!Sasi

I have a Master Inventory of all line items for a project. We then create Material Requests where we collate a number of these line items (maybe a few hundred) per vessel sailing. I need a way of effectively viewing the Inventory and selecting a checkbox or similar, then allocating these items to that Material Request. This creates a new record for that item. I can go into my material request currently and select individual items that are added, but cannot find a method of bulk selection and allocation.

Hi everyone! Our library uses an Airtable base for approving programs, some of which are one-time and others are repeating. We’re running into a problem where we’re sometimes overbooking on a single day (this is across multiple branches, so we have the room, but we try not to host too many programs on one day) and we’d really like to see all our programs on a calendar view. The problem is with the recurring programs. Right now, the base is set up with a text field where programmers put in their dates (e.g. “every third Wednesday from 11-12”) but obviously Airtable can’t read that. We could set up individual date fields for each occurrence, but some of these programs are staples, held dozens of times a year and would necessitate dozens of date fields. As a work around, I tried making a separate “Calendar” table with the dates as primary fields, and then in the main table, the date field became a linked record field. Hi AllI have a Base A with Table 1 and Table 2. One of the fields in Table 1 is a linked record field to Table 2.I also have Base B with Table 1 synced to this base.Rather than showing a linked record from Table 2 in the field in Base B Table 1, a text field with the entry in the primary field for Table 2 appears - is this expected behaviour? If so, how should the setup be structured to show the linked record? If I have a Table 3 in Base B that has a linked record field to Base B Table 1 and I want it to have a lookup field to the linked record field already in Base B Table 1, is that achievable?Thank you.

How to make new inventory items automatically link to the corresponding room in our building by linking or with a formula or automation.When a new item is added, how can I make that item auto populate in another tab by room (multi select)?This is the base. We have a robust inventory with “ALL ITEMS” and items by room.
