This seems simple but I am not sure how to accomplish this. I have my educators complete a form that requires them to enter their course start dates in ISO. This format is important for some concatenate fields and dropdown menus in other tables and forms, and thus I cannot change the format when the forms are completed. Currently, I am asking my instructors to enter the date twice: Once as ISO and once as friendly. In order to avoid entry mistakes and disgruntlement amongst the ranks, I would love to be able to do this with a formula. In short, I would my like instructors to enter the date as ISO and then in a second field the friendly date format populates magically. This: 2021-06-11 becomes June 6, 2021 in a second field. Hi, I am trying to prefill a form using the following formula: CONCATENATE({Applications URL}, ‘?prefill_Which+role+are+you+applying+for?=’, {Name of opportunity}) The ‘Name of opportunity’ field contains more than one word, but the formula is only pulling the first word. Here is an example of one form’s URL: Airtable Apply to our roles today! - Airtable Fill out the "Apply to our roles today!" form quickly and securely on Airtable. When the ‘Name of Opportunity’ is actually ‘Logistics, Freight and Warehousing - DSV’. How do I ensure that the form populates with all the words? Thanks!

Hi Airtable Community, We are using the “enable rich text formatting” on a “long text” field, using bullet points to indicate points of attention or statuses. Is there any way to use this rich text and do the following: Filter out first / last 3 bullet points by using a formula? Filter out items under a bullet point matching a certain category, eg. text in bold - by using a formula? Screen shot attached where I’m looking if I can filter out basis eg. “Week 13” or filter on bold. Many thanks!

Hello all, I’m working through the parent-child relationships of a self-linked table. I need to build a hierarchy or path which traverses a multi-level hierarchy using a “child” relationship. Some other solutions in these forums are focused on a “parent” relationship column, such as the excellent solution by @Justin_Barrett here: https://community.airtable.com/t/parent-child-tree-hierarchy/44094 Using the above solution as an example, I would like to build the following hierarchy: I’m open to other feedback on how construct this, even if it isn’t a scripting solution. I’ve just used the above example as a starting point. I’m also aware of the parent vs child tradeoffs of self-linking tables. I’ve gone through multiple iterations of this project already, trying both approaches. Thanks for the help!

Hi, I would like to ask what is wrong with this script below. What I’m trying to achieve is search a particular word on a given string and make sure that the word is not misspelled by not having any additional letter or numbers at the beginning or end of the word (Special characters are allowed. Case sensitive search). What happens with this script is, it fails to search for the given word even if nothing is added before or after the word. I have tried my RegEx on online testing tools and it actually works fine. If you guys know any alternative for my scenario please do let me know! Hello Can someone give me an advice? Sorry, but my english is not great to explain everything as I want. For a restaurant, I have recipes, with ingredients, and they came for vendors. What is best? 3 bases linked, or just 1 base with everyting? The 3 bases, that look logical to me, are: recipes, inventory, and vendors. recipes, with photo and calcs to estimate costs inventory, to track ingredients costs from different vendors, quantities in stock, and reorders vendors, where I can see their ingredients, with their contacts, and track the payments Ingredients is the only thing that must equal in all the 3 bases. But I never did any base, so maybe I’m thinking wrong. Thanks in advance

Hello, I have a problem with data manipulation when grouping records on a date range. Each record has a date and a time, (they are cash receipts linked to a cash register). Of course I have multiple records per day. I want to group these records by day and verify the data via another table (the cash register verification table). To group my records on a date range I have no problem (I used formulas of type DATETIME_FORMAT(Date, "DD/MM/YYYY ")). On the other hand I want to use the sum of each day and link this sum in another table of my database and I can’t do it with the rollup because it considers the records unique and not grouped. In short, on the one hand I have customers who buy, and on the other hand I want to do a data validation on the totals of several columns per day and this without having to link via a rollup each record of each customer. Hi everyone, I have a fairly complex base tracking financials, burn rate, and runway. I have run into a snag trying to come up with a formula that will automatically update based on what month of the FY we are in (for burn rate). For example, I have a table specifically for burn rate. If I want to see our burn rate YTD, I have to manually update the formula with the current month (burn rate = (starting balance-ending balance/# of months)). Starting balance - ending balance is an easy part but currently I need to manually update the divisor (our FY is from Jan to Dec, so right now I am dividing it by 8.5). How can I get it to update automatically? Can anyone help?

Here’s my scenario: Every day I make a plan, I screenshot the plan and put it in a ‘plan’ table Every day I might make 3 trades, each of which are stored in another ‘trades’ table I have an interface where I review my daily ‘daily review’ table I would like to include in my ‘daily review’ interface, a grid showing all the trades for the day (so the daily review’ interface would need to list trades with the same date as is on the daily review table/interface. Each day could have many trades. But a specific trade can only belong to one date. I am not sure how I can do this. Can anyone help?

Hey all, I’ve been happy with my JavaScript progress but have hit a bit of a roadblock this morning, hopefully it’s an easy one. I’m parsing records with a matching string Name field - in this example “Tropical :palm_tree: ”. Then, from each returned record, I’m then filtering out any records where “myLinkedField” field is null. From the four records found, we return the three with Colours. What I’m now trying to achieve is to grab the array of linked “Colours” Record Ids found in the remaining filtered records (3 in total) - which I can do, but not in the desired return structure. Hello I need some help with the Rollup, I have two tables: Points Tracker and Members In the Points Tracker table, there are 3 columns: Member Email, Event Name, Points. Whenever someone joins an event, we get their email and the name of the event that they joined and based on the event name they got different points. Same people can join multiple events and collect points from each event such as: first @gmail.com - Event1 - 15 Points second @gmail.com - Event1 - 15 Points first @gmail.com - Event 2 - 10 Points The Members table has two columns: Member Email and Points What I’m trying to do is to feed the Members table back with the sum of the Points a member got looking at the Points Tracker table: first@gmail.com - 25 Points I used Roll Up in the Members table but I need to manually select the related records anytime there is a new record in the Points Tracker table. I have several linking records that involve student teachers, what school they are working in, and what times they are teaching. What I want to do is compare one student’s availability with another student’s availability. I started with this: But I would like it to look something like : I thought about using a formula on my first table to create the information : ` IF(Student=“Student 1”, “Yes”, “No”) However, that returns “No” for everything. How do I set this up so that I can compare two or three students’ availability while eliminating all the extra information? For instance, if want to compare student 1 or student 3, I don’t want to see student 2’s information. (I am actually dealing with 12 students on 5 different days.)

Hi, One of the things I am trying to automate is sending an email with an attachment. This attachment is the latest file available in a dropbox folder, that would be uploaded as soon as its available. Here’s an overview of what I am trying to do: New file is available in dropbox folder > File is uploaded and added to attachment column in airtable base > Status of row changes to send > Custom email is sent to set email. This seems possible, but I am stuck at understand how to let airtable know that new file is available. How would you create this?

If you create a template in Airtable Universe and someone signs up and registers with Airtable for the first time because of your template, do you receive referral attribution for this new user sign up? I think this would be fair, and a great incentive for users to create ultra high quality templates and then publicly promote them on their social media, courses, marketing, email signatures, etc…

Just a small thing, but the change your password flow is a bit odd. If I see two boxes, I expect the first to be ‘current password’ (for validation) and the second to be ‘new password’. Either that, or they’re both ‘new password’ with the second as a confirmation. Airtable has it backwards! ‘New password’ then ‘current password’. This is odd, and caused me to go in circles. Of course I could just be an idiot but this could be a lot clearer.

Hi everyone! I’m new to learning how to use the deeper aspects of Airtable and how to use linked records. The problem I’m having … I have a multi-question survey, and am trying to calculate the percentage that people answered a question “yes”. However, some people skipped the question, so I need to remove these from the % calculation. My goal is to determine what percentage of responses were “yes” from those who actually responded. I tried by making a lookup table for each question that would only show answers yes/no (so no blank answers), and then the formula COUNTALL ({my lookup field name}) to first tell me how many responded, but I am not getting the correct answer. Does anyone have recommendations for how to solve this? Thank you I

What are the reasons you would create an additional (new) base for your company’s info rather than store it in another table? We have a lot of info to track but I’m struggling with when to know what belongs in the same base, and what calls for its own base. For example, we have 2 separate production divisions that handle the same kind of work, just on different types of accounts. Clients Jobs per Client Projects per Job that can utilize different internal teams Deliverables for each project Tasks that add up to the delivery/completion of a Deliverable Regarding the users… There is a leadership team above these divisions with the need to see data from both divisions rolled up into one place. This makes me think Division A and B’s work should all happen in the same base. For the most part, the team members within each division are not shared with the other division (although this could change in the future). For this reason, I tend to think Division A and Division B should be in

I was wondering if there was a way to filter based on linked records. That is: for the current record, you only add the current number to the sum of running totals of linked records. Would anyone know how to do this?
