Hello, I have a look up field which displays a value generated from a formula that lives on another base. I am trying to create a formula field that multiplies the value in the look up field by the percentage value in another field that is generated within the same base (i.e. is not a look up field).I have tried the following:"Look up field value field" * "percentage value field"and then:VALUE("Look up field value field") * "percentage value field"I have tested the percentage field with a simple calc and it works. When I try anything involving the look up field it returns error so it is definitely the look up field thats the issue I think Any hints appreciated 🙂

Hi airtable Community, I want to prefill muliple fields in an airtable form. The first fields (Project name) is working well but the second does somehow not. Both are normal text fields..What did i do wrong? Thanks & BestMirko

I'm trying to build an automation that, based on a set of input values specified by a user, will output a set of available dates to create timeblocks in a calendar. The user specifies what date to start with, how many weeks to create these blocks for, as well as start & end times for the day, break time & duration, and how long each timeblock can be for (including some follow-up time). The code I've worked up seems to generate the output I am hoping for when compiled, but output.set and the console.log seem null when this runs in Airtable. Here's my script: let inputConfig = input.config(); let daysOfWeek = inputConfig.daysOfWeek; let sessionDuration = inputConfig.sessionDuration; let startTime = inputConfig.startTime; let endTime = inputConfig.endTime; let followUpTime = inputConfig.followUpTime; let startDate = inputConfig.startDate; let numWeeks = inputConfig.numWeeks; let breakStartTime = inputConfig.breakStartTime; let breakDuration = inputConfig.breakDuration; // Hel

I have string fields and I want to extract the first two words (minus any punctuation or special symbols). Ideally, they would remove the white space and capitalize each word as well.So a field with “Midnight: A Tale” = “MidnightA”. ”What’s New in Books” = “WhatsNew” I’ve looked all over to find a way to get two words, but can only find out how to get one. I got into RegEx a bit, but couldn’t figure out how to account for the punctuation/symbols. If someone has a slick way to extract the first two words of a string, I’d be eternally grateful!

Hello,Bottom Line Up Front: I would like to know, how can I use my table's Primary Key as a Single Select / Drop Down Menu option in an Airtable Forms question. Backstory:I am creating a "Sign Up Form" in Airtable to allow Applicants to schedule themselves for my available appointments in the Appointments table. In order to link their Applicant Table (screenshot #1) record with their Appointment Table (screenshot #2) record, I'm planning to:1) List the Appointments (Primary Key from the Appointment Table) as a Drop Down Menu in the form so they can select 1 to schedule. 2) Have the Application # included on the Form, and prefilled through the unique form URL I give them, which will enter their Application # in that field on the form automatically. This will help link their Appointment with their Application. How can I do this???TIA!ML Screenshot #1: Applicants TableScreenshot #2 - Appointments Table

Hi FolksI am a newbie to AirTable, so apologies if my question seems very basic. My automation consists of an action script that calls an API for an external system, and if the API operation is successful, it sets the “Status” and “API_Response” fields in my AirTable to “continue next steps” and “Success” respectively. Then, a conditional logic block is meant to check if "Success=continue next steps" and "API_Response=Success" and if these conditions are a match, a Create Record and Update Record actions are to be executed. However, even when the API operation is successful, the conditional logic is not evaluating to true for some reason, when it should. As a result, the Create Record and Update Record actions are not being executed.I have attached a screenshot showing the automation. What am I doing wrong?NOTE -The code in the action script that updates the Status and API_Response columns is as follows:await airTableTab.updateRecordAsync(recordId,{"API_Response": "Success"}) //Evalua

Hi all, I’m building a CRM and have a field for ‘Contact Frequency’ set as ‘Single select’ with 7, 14, 30, 90 as options. I have a roll up field with ‘Most Recent Interaction’ which pulls from an ‘Interactions’ table. I would like to create a field to automatically mark as ‘Overdue’ anyone who’s ‘Contact Frequency’ has been exceeded. Some searching uncovered a formula which I have tried to adapt no doubt with a glaring error! I suspect that my ‘Contact Frequency’ options are perhaps not in the correct format or need a separate field to convert them into the correct format before a formula can use them? IF({Contact Frequency}=””,””,IF(DATETIME_DIFF(TODAY(),{Most Recent Interaction},’days’)>{Contact Frequency},“Overdue”)) Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Hi Community, this is a little brainteaser for advanced formula wizards. I am stuckHere is the situation:Up to 3 "quality checks" need to be done for some workflow. Each "quality check" has a check box fieldQC1QC2QC3Each quality check also has a single select status field "In Progress", "Review" or "Done".I want to show in a cell a quick overview of what quality check is still outstanding and if all are DONE it should show "ALL CHECKED"- If a quality check "QC A" is required AND QCA STATUS is NOT done -  it shows the letter: "A" (to signal that QC A still needs to be done)additionally to the letter A possibly shown:- If a quality check "QC B" is required AND QC B STATUS is NOT done - it shows the letter: "B"additionally to the letter A possibly shown:- If a quality check "QC C" is required AND still outstanding (not done) it shows the letter: "C"Once all REQUIRED Quality checks are marked DONE, the A, B and C (if required) should dissapear/not show anymore and instead the cel

Is there a shortcut to switch to the next/previous table? Like Ctrl+ Page Up/Down in Excel?

I have a base that has client names in a table and appointment date on another table that is linked to the specific client. I am trying to create a formula in the client table that will display the last appointment for that that client that was scheduled and another formula field that will display the next appointment date for that client. When I try to create a formula to look at the linked appointment date table from clients, it says it can't be calculated because it's not a date. Is there any way to make this work, which I am missing? Thanks in advance.

Hi everyone! I'm posting to ask if there's a way to do a search within an interface page that features a list view. thanks,Megan

Hi, I read a lot of questions about this topic, but they are really old, so maybe something is changed ( I hope  ). Is there a way to send the document I created in the page designer extension straight to the attachment field rather than manually downloading it and uploading it to the Attachment field? I don’t have a big budget to pay for external services, but I have a lot of pdf to manage (more than 5k). Thank you

Hi,I'm pretty new at managing users in Airtable. I have downgraded a number of user accounts from "Editor" to "Viewer." However, many of them have regained "Editor" status, within a day of the downgrade. Are users getting some kind of notification when I downgrade them? Are there likely mechanisms for the users to regain Editor status? Are there reasonable ways to control for the Editor status, so that our number of Editor (aka billable) users is manageable? Thanks, and have a good day,Joe Montibello

I have the following script to create records in a table. Event Name is a Single Select field. But I get an error "Error: Field "...." cannot accept the provided value." await passTable.createRecordAsync({ "Event Name": event, "Event Date/Time": date, "Notes": notes, }); }  I tried:  "Event Name": [{name: event.toString()}] and "Event Name": [{name: event)}]  but neither of them work. Any suggestions?

Hey I'm quite new but couldn't find an answer : I'm looking to show the average of a column in the interface. To be specific, I have a set of data from one table and I'm selecting certain data from another table, and I want to calculate the average of specific values from this other table in the interface. (It's for managing events, so I have a list of events in one table and another table with all our members and for example their age, and I select the participants in the specific activity and want to be able to calculate the average for example of the age of the participants from the list of members).Hope it's kinda clear, thanks!!

I've got an automation that creates new records based on content in the triggered record, but the linked info disappears after about 5 seconds and I see the attached screenshot.A more concrete example - I've got a project record that I can add defined tasks to from a task template table. I made a button to generate new task instances for those linked tasks in that project. Those task instances have a link back to the task template record.Initially everything works as expected, and I go to my tasks instance view and I see the new task instances that are linked back to the task template. But, after 5 seconds they disappear and I see the attached screenshot for the linked task template fields.

I am looking for an analytics solution for tracking link clicks and counting attachment downloads from embedded airtable views. Is there a good solution out there for this already? I’m having trouble finding a good resource for this. I have several solutions but they’re rather labor intensive and I’m hoping this can just happen automatically after initial setup. User clicks external link from embedded airtable record on website> +1 count in analytics for that link click. I am about to go test this, but does anyone know if you can use a google events to track link clicks in airtable?

Ok, here's the workflow I'm trying to create:User 1 creates a new ticket by completing a form. (Easy)Automation generates an email to User 2, notifying them of the new ticket, including a few details and a link that opens the record in another form, which includes the details from the original ticket submitted and the ability to update the status and other fields as needed, then submitting the form to update the ticket. (???)User 1 gets an automated email, notifying them of the updated ticket. (Also easy)Is it possible to generate url that will open the record in a form to be updated and submitted? If not, could I instead generate a link that opens the record in an interface that I design for that purpose? I'm trying to minimize the opportunity for either user to get confused by other records or the Airtable interface, since neither of them will be Airtable users.Any creative ideas?Thank you!!!

Hello Airtable Community!I'm exploring the possibility of building an auction system using Airtable and I'm hoping to get some insights on its feasibility. Here's what I'm looking to create:Use Case:An auction system featuring 6 items, each represented by an imageAbility for users to place bids on these itemsA way to recognize and identify users for subsequent bidsReal-time (or near real-time) updates of bid prices as new bids come inCurrent Plan:I'm considering using Airtable as the backbone of this system, potentially with Airtable Interfaces for the front-end. Here's my proposed structure:An "Items" table with fields for item details, current highest bid, and auction end timeA "Bids" table linked to the Items table, recording each bidViews to display active auctions, ended auctions, and bids by itemAn interface with pages for browsing items, viewing item details, placing bids, and viewing one's own bidsQuestions:Is this use case feasible with Airtable, particularly regarding real-ti

Could someone share the correct way to update a multiple select field using a script?I have one table where I receive data from form submissions. When a submission is received, I use data from the submission to update a multiple select field in a record in another table. When I manually type my field update, as below, the script accepts the value: await table.updateRecordAsync(id,{ 'Multiple Select Field': [{ name:example1 }, { name: example2 }] })However, when I use JSON.parse() to create an array of objects with name keys and values using my submission data I receive a 'cannot accept provided value' error://My raw data is brought into an automation script as an input. Here is an example of the format: let rawData = ["example1", "example2"] //Here, I convert my rawData into objects with keys and values let data = rawData.map(datum => JSON.parse(JSON.parse('{ "name":"'+datum+'" }')); //Here, I attempt to update my table using the parsed data await table.updateRe

A few years back I set up a base for one of our clients who was new to Airtable. I invited them as a collaborator to the base to start to familiarize them with the system. Since then we have been paying for both us and them as a collaborator on the base. The time has come that we want to transfer owernship of the base to them completely so they will both be managing and paying for the base. How do I go about doing that? Do I invite them as an owner and then delete them as a collaborator? How do I remove myself as an owner for the base? How do we get them set up to be billed for the base?

Hi - I am building a base that serves as a marketing tech stack document. I am listing software titles in the first column, and then have columns for "Features in use" and "Features available but not in use" etc.  Each of those columns have multiple selection options.  My goal is to be able to create a view that will group all the software options by the individual features.  So one example use is that I want to be able to see all our software that has the Available Feature to do SMS texting in one group. Did I set this up right to do that?

Hello,I'm moving into the List View Interface, and I am loving the "Prefix" field which allows me to use visual indicators to quickly see the status of records. My current roadblock is this, I haven't been able to figure out:How can I have a Single Select Field automatically assigned based on a formula? As shown in the screenshots below I have:1) Created a Single Select field that has a "Stoplight Anaylsis" of a record's status as Red, Yellow, or Green.2) I added this Single Select field as the "Prefix" in my List View Interface3) Now I want to know how to automatically assign the status based on other fields. Specifically:GREEN if {Leader} and {Client} are filledYELLOW if {Leader} AND/OR {Client} are emptyRED if {Leader} AND/OR {Client} are empty AND the date is in the Past. It's not a difficult concept, just trying to see how to implement it in Airtable.Quick Update 10/7 4:35pm EST:* I was able to generate the emojis using a formula, BUT formula fields are not available for me to

There are times when I need a data field to be "Required".   Otherwise, data quality issues are introduced. When this is needed, usually the data field must always be "Required" (Use Case #1).  There are also times when a data field needs to be "Required" only conditionally (Use Case #2), based on a value present in another data field within the record.  What I have observed:Airtable supports Use Case #1 during data creation via the Interface Creation Form, but not during a data update.  I can delete the data in a "required" data field, subsequently in the same interface.Airtable doesn't support Use Case #1 at the table/view level.  It can't be specified when defining a column.Regarding Use Case #2, "Conditionally Required" enforcement is not supported, either at the table/view level or within an interface.  Am I missing something?  Please let me know if there is another means to enforce these rules.

I’m new to Airtable, and have been browsing the help center and playing around with the features. One thing I didn’t see mentioned anywhere was input validation. For instance, for a numeric field requiring the value to be less than, greater than, or between values-- as an age field which must be 21 or greater. Or a date field which must not be a future date. Or a currency field limited to 10000. An so on. How would these be done in Airtable ?
