I have a automated email that goes out to a group of non-collaborators when a form is filled out.  The emails contain an inserted grid with designated information from that form including any attachments that were submitted.  These attachments are, however, not viewable by the non-collaborators.  Share and sync is turned on.  Is there a setting I am missing?  Is it not possible for non-collaborators to view the attachments?  Is there a workaround that doesn't involve giving the non-collaborators access to the base?Thanks for the help!

I'm experiencing something weird - I have a formula field ("Cheque 2 amount") set up to subtract different currency fields. All fields, including Cheque 2 amount are set to currency format with 2 decimal places.  Everything looks normal in Airtable:However, I have a "send email" automation set up that uses the Cheque 2 Amount as a token, and some of those emails are displaying this token with 14 or so extra decimal places (here is the email generated from that same record above): Seems to be happening to maybe a quarter of the 160 or so records I was working with this morning. I can't see anything different about the ones that are experiencing this glitch. My best guess is it has something to do with the Cheque 1 Amount field, which is a formula that calculates a percentage (SUM(.75*{Approved budget})) - however it is also set to currency format with 2 decimal places, along with all the other fields. Anyone have any ideas???

I found this formula in the community. However I want to include a timestamp aswell. Since {date 1}, {date 2}, {date 3} may occur on the same day. I tried adding a format specifier but it wont work... I’m really excited about the new interface designer features. Airtable has given us the tools to build functional apps without getting people too deep into the database side. Unfortunately I can’t quite fully embrace it yet – it seems like the interfaces don’t work at all on iPhones. Moreover the degradation is pretty un-graceful, users just get a message to login or use the app with little or no explanation of what went wrong and how they could fix it. Our folks – especially some key stakeholders – are on iPhones more than any other platform, making this an important thing to solve for here. Does anyone have any ideas about how to deal with this? Does anyone know what Airtable’s roadmap is? Would love to leverage the features if I can figure out how to manage this challenge.

Apologies for the confusing title. To not confuse things further, I'll minimise the story/context. I'm developing a crop planning and record keeping system for our farm.For this issue, I have 3 tables in question. 1) Crops (basic info about all our crops)2) Crop Plan (for planning)3) Field (what actually happens in the field, as plans are never followed 100%).More than one Crop is added to the crop plan via a linked record. An automation creates a record for each crop with a "planned" status in Field. In Airtable, a normal one-to-many relationship between two tables is bi-directional. When I create a link-to-record field in the parent table, Airtable automatically creates a mirroring link-to-record field in the child table. But if I create a link-to-record field that links to the same table – a self-join – that mirroring field does not get created. I was trying (as an experiment) to create a one-table to-do list, but I wanted a task to be able to have sub-tasks. So I defined the link-to-record field linking the Tasks table to itself, and called that field (that relationship) “Subtasks”. I created a task like “Prepare for vacation” and then added subtasks to it by clicking into the “Subtasks” column’s + button. And then Prepare for vacation [Subtasks: Get gas in car, Pack, File vacation form…] Get gas in car Pack File vacation form at post office etc. That works fine. What’s the best way for someone to use my base? Lots of people will need to use it and add/edit records but they should not see each other’s information. They are individuals and not in the same company or organization. Can they copy my base and then use it freely? What is the best way to share so they’ll have the base to be able to add, edit, update and delete records?

How can I do a negative filter? Let's say I have a multiple select field with letters A-E. I can easily filter to show all records that contain all of D, E, and F. But I want to filter OUT all records that contain all of D, E, and F. Just D is fine, D and E is fine, etc. Thanks for your help!

Currently, formula fields support numeric, date and text output only. Are there any plans to extend formula field to work with other types of output (such as the single select field)? A bit of context: I have 3 single select fields (let’s call them A, B, and C) which represent the status of a task. Statuses may have one of the following options: Todo, Doing, Paused, and Done. For example, given some task, it could have the A field as Doing, B as Paused, and C as Todo. With that in mind, I’d like to have a field D that automatically selects its value based on fields A, B, and C. Let’s say D is a formula field that does some least common denominator logic to figure its value out. The problem I’m facing is that the output type of D is text, and I’d like it to be a single select field’s value type. Also, is there a dedicated place to ask Airtable for feature implementations?

Many times we wish to have a single select or multi select field automatically choose an output based on other fields. Automations are useful for this, but are limited and become convoluted as a separate module, especially when you have many of these use cases in one table.It would be very useful to have a single select or multi select field with an inbuilt formula box, where the select output could be determined by the formula. You could then introduce another option to lock formula mapping (ie no ability to edit), or freeze mapping, where an Auto value output would generate unless the field was manually overwritten.The workaround at present is to create three Fields, 1 select field for manual input, 1 formula field for automated input and one last official formula field to take the most relevant of the two previous outputs. This generates clunky database design, similar to when there was no today() function.

Hi, I have a Single Select field that has the options “This week”, “This month”, “This quarter”. I’d like these to be automatically chosen and updated based on a Date field. The purpose of this is to use a Matrix block to display records by a “Event Type” Single Select on the Y axis and in relative date categories “This week” etc on the X axis. Is this possible, or can anyone suggest a better solution?

I created an "upgraded" form and gave users commenter access to the base and workspace. However, when they try to upload a file (images to be specific), they get an "invalid permissions" error. Is there a setting that I am missing? I tried out this setup with the old forms and it seemed to work.

Then, for each student, we manually linked the individual records and had "lookup" fields for the fee & comments in the main Student table. Hi AT CommunityI have a Google Sheet which has cell values (text/currency) which I would like to bring into Airtable. Along with those values I need the user to answer some questions. I would like to prefill form fields with the cell values from the Google Sheet, hide the fields, leaving visible only the questions which I need answering. Any suggestions on how I could go about this please? It needs to be a one step from Google Sheet to Form. I have looked into prefilling a Google Form from Google Sheet, this then populates Google Sheet (form response Google Sheet), when a row is added it creates a record in Airtable Base. I don't think you can hide Google form fields which isn't a huge problem, but not my preference. Any other thoughts or suggestions. THANK YOU.

Hi,I have a field with created dates. I would like to be able to create a chart that shows this data, grouping by the month of the created date. However I want the year to be irrelevant. For example, March 2024 and March 2022 to be shown in the same group within the chart.I have created a new field with a formula to show the month only which works perfectly. But then when I create a chart on the interface, they are in alphabetical order and not date order which is not want we want.Can't think of a way to make the chart display the months in date order, or another way for this all to work. Any help is appreciated!

Hello:New to Airtable and new to the forum here...Looking for a solution to combine records in my field {Component], for every change in records in my fields {Location ID} and {Room}.  For example, in the attached image I would want to combine WF218, W361824, RF9624 3/4, W3330, and so on to B18, in a new field.  This is to correspond with {Location ID} 1-3-302 and with {Room} A Acc Kitchen.  For the next combined field, the result would be ADA SB30, for location 1-3-302 and room A Acc Bathroom.  I would like to accomplish with a formula, but I understand I may need to create a new linked table.  I am attaching 2 views; one is grouped and one is a straight view, for clarity.  Thanks so much!!  

Hi, Table A, B, and C. Table B fields are linked with Table A and Table C. I'm trying to run automation. Whenever a new record is added, I will filter the records from Table A and Table C based on the condition. Then I need to create a record in Table B by linking the data from Table A and Table C. Now I can filter the records from Table A and Table C using the Find Records action. but not able to run a nested repeating loop.
