Hello! I would like to set-up an automation using "Run a script" that checks the text in the primary field [Name] for a matching value in a multi-select field [Topic] and then populates the field with the matching value. Would greatly appreciate any help with creating a script and automation that can accomplish this as I am unfamiliar with scripting. Included sample data screenshot for visual. The real dataset has ~ 20 selection options.The process should look something like this:1) Record is created2) Script runs3) Record UpdatedThank you!

I am trying to solve the problem that I have illustrated in the image below. I am trying to create/calculate (see image) {Rate} and {Day Total}. In the below example, the first record for "Old Cypress - Weaned Calves," if the "Weaned Calves" == "Pasture" then pull in the value .70, and then multiply that value with the "Inventory" of 450. This will result in a "Day Rate" of $350. Any help will be appreciated! Thank you! 

I'm trying to get two conditons from two fields that contain certain text that if True produces a duration value.  I can get it to work work one condition but when I add the second it will not work.  Can someone see what I'm doing wrong? This Formula works: IF(FIND("ABC",Origin),3600,0) But when I add the second condition it shows all 0's on the fields that contain "ABC" and the fields the doesn't contain"ABC" gets the 3600: IF(AND(FIND("ABC",Origin)),AND(FIND("New",{Lane class}),3600,0)) Thanks 

What's a good way to copy data from one field to another in the same table?Currently, I have data in Field A that I want to copy to Field B because I want to deactivate Field A (probably hide it.) Then, going forward current processes where data was entered via a form to Field A would instead be entered into Field B.So, this is a one-time need but there may be other changes in the data structure where having an automation in place that performs this task would be handy.If this is an automation, I'm not sure what to use as a trigger.Any ideas are welcome.

Hi! I think this is simple, but can't figure it out...I have a base where I have a “Sales“ tab, here I have the date, client, and price sold. This tab has all the sales for the entire month. I can make a new “Daily view“ and filter by date, so now I can see only the current date. I can see totals here...I need to have an automation send me the total sales for the DAY. I can get(find records) the “Daily View“ from the sales tab, but I can only see a list/grid with numbers for each sale... i want to see a TOTAL DAILY SALES.Help! 

Hello All,I have an automation that uses a for loop to create a new record based on input from a form. When the automation is tested in "run as configured" mode the new records are created as expected. However, when testing live the automation fails to create the record. However other aspects of the automation completed correctly so I know the automation is triggering as it should. The fact that the tests are working correctly makes me think that the issue lies with something on the Airtable side and not the automation side. Could this be the case? Thanks!

Hi fellow Airtablers!Could anyone suggest how can I make the ''Next charge'' date field recurring on a yearly basis every year if the toggle in ''Frequency'' is set to ''Yearly''? This dilemma is driving me nuts 😞 Right now, I just have a formula in that field:DATEADD({Latest charge}, 1, 'years')But it's not ideal because I would need to manually update ''Latest Charge'' field with the previous year every year.Ideally, I'd love to solve this with a formula because I'd have lots of entries, and it may be a bit cumbersome to create automation for each and every entry.But if automation to update the latest charge is absolutely needed, what is the best way to go about it/set it up? 

I am trying to create an automation that will update a record. I want to add a linked record from one field (Field A) to a different field (Field b). Field A will have only one linked record in it. Field B allows multiple linked records. Right now, whenever i update the record with the info from Field A, it either overwrites everything that was in Field B or it creates a new linked record that merges the info that was in Field A with the info that was previously in Field B. Is it possible to automate this kind of update? thanks for any help! is this possible?

I have a multipart task that I think can surely be accomplished with a few formulas. I looked around the forums for a while and I think I have an idea but I haven't been able to put it all together yet! Basically I have lookup field collating all the dates that a certain client has ads scheduled across multiple products. For our scheduling purposes, the first of each month have a "- [Month]" text added. I want to identify the first date among this group of dates, for a notification automation to let the team know when this client's contract starts. Using a Formula or Rollup field I can transfer that into a string separated by commas. From here, my general understanding is I need to:> Strip out the text so its just dates (I tried REGEX_REPLACE but it also removed everything after the first instance of text. These type of coding functions are really over my head)> Format the dates into YYYYMMDD numbers that can then have the MIN function applied to find the earliest

Hi Does anyone know of a way to ‘Filter’ a ‘Date’ column by something similar to “this week”? Basically, I’m just trying to create a Grid View that shows - via a Filter - all enquiries that have been received ‘this week’ (which is from Monday through to Sunday of the week I’m looking/accessing the View in). when i'm viewing my tasks i'm not able to see some projects. Probably because the project doesn't have tasks but I'm not able to add task if the project does not show. Anyone knows how I can solve this ?

Hello, I have posted about 15 questions this board and I have always received a solution my problem. So thank you all very much. I think I have a really tough one this time. I have a base to manage memberships and donations and legacy gifts for a not for profit. There are 6 membership levels with specific dollar amounts attached to them. So all is well as long as a person pays an amount that corresponds to an existing membership level. But when they pay an amount that is not a preexisting level, I have to assign the difference to a donation.I have a Currency field that records the actual amount paid. I have a formula field (thank you Alexey_Gusev) that shows the membership level closest to the payment amount. For instance, $35 would show as an Individual membershi which is set at $25. I need to then add the remaining $10 the donation field. The next level is $45 for a Family level. To be completely honest, I have no idea where to even begin with this. Due mostly to the h

Images to make it easier to understand. When a record gets the single select category “Investment from private”, this automation triggers. This is synced directly from my business bank account every day. This is the record i want to update: Thought i had it covered with this automation: Buuuuut the automation overwrites the linked records instead of adding to the end of it. Is there any simpler way to deal with this? Do i have to use a script instead? This is for a client that deals with tons of transactions and i have to make a separate table categorizing cashflow.

Apart from equipment details I have these fields:Last maint date (a date field - to be manually entered)Next maint date (formula which returns a date 120 days after Last maint date)Actual cleaned date (date field - date on which an equipment was actually cleaned - to be manually entered)Status (Formula - I want this to be evaluated for 3 conditions and return text phrases accordingly)Conditions:If the 'Actual cleaned date' is greater than 'Next maint date' then return 'Delayed' in StatusIf the 'Actual cleaned date' is equal to 'Next maint date', then return 'Cleaned on time'If the 'Actual cleaned date' is lesser than 'Next maint date', then return 'Cleaner early'  I tried this nested if IF({Actual date cleaned}>{Next maint date},"Delayed",IF({Actual date cleaned}={Next maint date},"Cleaned on time")) But it is not returning any phrase as needed.Kindly hel

I'm using sidesheets in Interface Designer and want to add sections/groups for organization. Maybe it was luck, but I do have one sidesheet with sections that I cannot reproduce. View the screenshots. One is my base, and the other is from Airtable documentation.How can I add sections to a sidesheet when they are not available?

Hi, I'm a little lost with where to start looking for a simple tool that allows me to create a permission-based API on top of my Airtable data.I'm looking to enable an external collaborator to request the availability of a certain set of products. For that I would like to limit the user to1. Read only access2. A set of records via a view or filter3. A set of fieldsThis is a small scale experiment and I would prefer a quick to setup and free solution.I have looked at nocodeapi.com, which looks great but it doesn't appear to support the permissions I'm looking for.Thank you! 

It seems the more I learn here the more ideas I come up with that I need help with.I have a membership payment table. There are 6 levels of membership.Individual  $25.00Family  $45.00Patron  $60.00Sustaining  $100.00Benefactor $250.00Sponsor  $1,000.00I would like to write a formula in the membership level field that fills in the membership level in the membership level field using the amount entered in the amount of the membership payment field. There are 6 membership levels as above. So if they pay $35, then it would put in as an Individual membership, etc. The $10 difference would but put in a field of the donations table as a donation. I will start that formula when I get this working.This is what I came up with but it has an error. Hello, I'm trying to find a function that will pull all of the long text; rich field checked boxes away from any unchecked boxes. I've found the solution linked below and it worked great for the opposite problem. Does Airtable have a simple search feature similar to the "Find" in Excel? Suppose a user is updating random fields in a 10,000 record mailing list. They need to quickly find a specific record based on varying criteria such as an unusual last name, phone number, address, whatever information might be available to find the record. In Excel this type of task is a no-brainer, what is Airtable's (hopefully) equivalent search functionality? I've seen the filter feature, that would be extremely tedious for random searches of this type. I'm new to Airtable, maybe the feature I need is right in front of me and I overlooked it. Thanks

I have a database where I have a check box that’ll indicate that a material has arrived. Im trying to have a formular to automatically record the date the check box was checked. Sofar I’ve tried with the following. IF({Trim arrived}=1,TODAY(), BLANK()) The problem that the date follows todays date and dosen’t stay at the date the the check box was clicked. Is there a way record the date it was checked in in the formular field
