Good afternoon, everyone, I’m now trying to set up my tables so when “Shoot Date” is updated in the “Shooting Schedule” table, the box is checked under “Interview Scheduled?” in “Interviewees’ Contact Status” for the corresponding interviewee, in this case, Alan Barker. Shooting ScheduleInterviewee Contact StatusHowever, I’m running into issues when setting up the automation. I have a table (Invoices: House) that uses a sequential Invoice # entered in a field type: Number. I am currently entering each one manually as I create a new invoice record in the table. I would like to automate the process of assigning the next sequential number as I create a new invoice record.I am trying to figure out if I can do this with a formula or if I need to use an Automation or a Script.Does anyone have a way to do this?Thanks, Scott

Hi -I need to collect data on the number of projects per month that change from “potential” to “launched”. We currently have this field set up as a single select drop down that we manually update once the project status changes. I am assuming in order to track this I will need to add a time stamp or something to the changes being made? Or can an automation do this? We need to track over the entire year the total number of product status changes, but I am unsure how to collect this info. Maybe a monthly report that gets emailed to me showing the changes that I can then tally?Appreciate any help/ideas! Thank you!

I’m trying to automate period assignment in Airtable and want to check whether I’m missing something or if this just isn’t possible without scripting.I have a Periods table where each record has a Start Date and End Date for a 13-period fiscal year. In other tables like Orders, Packaging, and Transfers, each record has a single Date. What I want is for a record to automatically link to the correct Period when it’s created or when its Date is updated, based on whether that Date falls between the Period’s Start Date and End Date.I haven’t been able to find a native way to do this. Automations don’t seem to allow comparing one date field to another date field, Find records can’t evaluate date ranges using the triggering record’s Date, and rollups and filters don’t allow referencing parent record fields. Hi,We run a photography studio. The customer journey starts with a discovery call, before proceeding with a deepened consultation call for some, and then the actual photo session. The bookings for the discovery call come primarily from Meta ads.When monitoring that we have enough bookings (and potentially need to work on the Meta ads to get more bookings), we need to see historical data for how many bookings we’ve had. This would be on either daily or weekly basis, the problem is the same. For example, we’d like to see a table showing how many bookings we had for the coming two weeks and have this for each day, and see what the historical levels have been.This is how I tested: I first created a new table with one record per day. Then I linked the event bookings to each record (day). I want to look up certain related Procedure Records in my “PNP” table, then I want to add all the related Procedure Records to one field in every Work Record in another table. SO: Triggers: Possibly every time a Work record is created? or on a time schedule? Hi guys,I'm relatively new to scripting, so I've mostly used scripts I find in this amazing community and adapted them to my tables. Once such script I've tweaked to create junction tables. It automatically creates entries in a junction table when a linked record field is updated. It has been working pretty well for a 5-6 months now, then all of a sudden earlier today, it started giving the error:ERRORTypeError: Cannot read properties of null (reading '0')at main on line 38"Usually I can figure out what is going on and fix it, but this really has me stumped. I didn't touch the script today (I'm the only one who manages them). I took a snapshot of the base from this morning and the script works in that, so I tried to copy/paste the code from that to the live version, but it still didn't work. Hi all, I import CSV files with salary ranges.There are two fields from CSV: “Salary Min” & “Salary Max”. Their format is $75,000.00. I want to have them in one field ($75,000 - $100,000), so created a third field with the formula IF(  AND({Salary Min}, {Salary Max}),    "$" & {Salary Min} & " - $" & {Salary Max} & "/yr",    "") However,  I get “$75000 - $100000/yr”.I looked around and tried AT’s AI but so far luck.Is there a way I can resolve this? Thanks a lot 

I have a separate table for contacts, name, email, tel, address, etc. In the primary field, I enter the person’s name, eg. John Smith. Having read somewhere useful for the base design to have separate fields for a person’s name, I have added two fields immediately to the right of the primary, field name FN (for first name) and SN (for surname). Each field option Single Select. Which means that whenever I add a record in the primary field I also have to add the person’s first and surname separately to the respective fields. I sort on primary field and that suits my needs, as in the event not finding instantly does a filter or simple search. But unless there is some benefit to the database set-up evolution in having two separate fields for FN and SN I can’t see any advantage. Is there? and if so then what is it? tia

I have a table with a linked field to another table. The linked field refers back to the primary key of the table I am linking back to (eg a unique project number) but that is just numbers and it doesn’t mean anything to most users when searching. Is there any way I can have the linked field search for the name of the project rather than typing in the unique primary key to the record I want to link back to? I have added a lookup field but this only pulls in the project name field once I have linked back using the link field by entering the corresponding unique job number,

Hello! Currently for a school project (Software Development and Design) I am making a game in unity complete with an online highscores leaderboard through Airtable. The leaderboard side of the project is now done but I wanted to add a replay system to the game. Much like demo files from the old doom games my replay solution is a JSON array that contains the positions and rotations of the key game objects over the lifetime of the game. The file that is generated is only about 1mb in size and such shouldnt take very long to upload if sent with the rest of my run information (such as the players username and their time) The issue I have run into is that im getting an INVALID_REQUEST_BODY error every time i try to put the entire JSON string into a Long Text feild on airtable. I beleive this may be due to the fact that it is a JSON string inside the rest of the JSON request that is sent to irtable. Is there a way to isolate the string so that airtable doesnt try and parse this data? Alterna

Hello all, We have recently implemented Airtable on our team to account for hours worked by employees. To gather the information, I created a form in which they answer at the end of every work-day to take into account the actual hours worked. These answers feed a database that groups every reply by week/employee. In the database, I created a column of “Work-day” which is the employee’s weekly hours divided by 5 business days. This way, when they answer the form, I would have the daily overtime and then it would be grouped weekly and it would give me the weekly overtime.However, the team is mainly composed by part-time workers and that’s where it becomes tricky. We don’t really enforce a fixed start/finish hour, so a person who has a contract of 18 hours/week, may work only 2 days one week and then 5 days the next week, picture below.  What I would like for it to do, and that I wasn’t able to, is to calculate how much overtime (or time they didn’t work) they are doing per week, based of

I run a small non-profit and we use Airtable to track all of our donors/volunteers/etc. I want to do address labels for a mailing. We currently have the columns set up as First Name, Spouse Name, Last Name, Street Address, City, State, Zip. Is there an easy way to print labels from Airtable? If the best way is to export, then how do I get around that my columns are too specific (ie I need First, Spouse, Last name to be one line, and City, State, Zip to be one line). Thanks!

Hello everyone,I’ve created an Airtable to help manage pre-production workflows and am struggling to get what I think is a simple automation running; I’d like that when a record is assigned a contact person (The “Assigned?” field is “Yes”) and given an “Assignee” to carry out this task, that the status of that record be updated in the “Interviewees” table to “Contact Assigned.” This is the automation I’ve set up so far but no matter what I do, I keep getting the “Record does not exist” error.I can’t get it to update the status of the record within the “Interviewees” table. Now I’m wondering the problem lies in the fact that the record name or interviewee name is not the primary field in the ‘Interviewee contact status” table, but you can’t make a primary field a linked record. Is there any way to get around that or is that not the problem at all? Is this an automation problem or a table infrastructure problem? Thank you!

I’m looking at building an interface to streamline inputting some information but before I think about redesigning my current database I just want to check if it’s possible to create an interface that would allow information to be updated across multiple tables?Even more complicated, would it be possible for the interface to react live to automations? To try to give a bit of context I want to have a contract table where the top line contract information is kept - as part of this an automation creates different versions of a product linked to that contract in an editions table…Could an interface handle me entering the contract detail and then have the editions appear ready to be edited?  

I just added a new user as Portal Editor in a portal interface. Let’s call them {USERNAME}After they used the portal, Airtable upgraded their seat to Editor.(I am the only admin, and I know this upgrade was not done by me, so it was done by Airtable) The Admin panel lists the upgrade event as, “{USERNAME} made edits to Interface {INTERFACE}"Now, I know that {USERNAME} didn’t actually edit the interface, because they don’t have base access. And I know that portal editors are *supposed* to be able to change fields via the interface.So what the heck does the upgrade event “{USERNAME} made edits to Interface {INTERFACE}" mean? Automation in AirtableI have a Donations table with the field Donor that contains a Single Line Text field with the donor name in it. I have a Summary table that is linked back to the Donations table using the Link Another Record filed with Allow Linking to Multiple Records to be selected. The linked field in the Summary table has a list of Donors from the Donations table. I want to automate the insertion of a new Donor name into the linked field in the summary table when I create a new record in the Donations table.It seems it should be straight froward but I keep running into a problem with figuring out what to select in the Actions section.Trigger = When a record is createdIn Actions:I choose Update Record I Put in a description so I don’t forget whY I did this. When, how, and what is not clear at all to me yet, so I wanted to open up the discussion early on to make sure this is really community led.Brainstorming:Format: Virtual (for sure). Synchronous (everyone builds during a given time frame) or asynchronous (projects submitted over a few weeks). Themes: Specific theme (e.g. procurement, marketing ops, nonprofits, etc.), or leave it totally open to “build whatever you enjoy”? Why I think this could be fun: A chance to show off creativity. A way to learn from each other’s builds. An opportunity to meet new peers. A reason to push Airtable to its limits in unusual or inspiring ways (different to the day-to-day work we do for our clients or within our organizations).  Would love to get some input from the usual suspects here, and from any other Airtable enthusiast!​@Scott

Hello all, I'm looking for some help with a dynamic date filtering challenge in automations.I have a Social Media Metrics table where each record needs to link to all previous records for the same Contact/Platform combination, but only where Date Recorded is before the current record's date.The challenge: Airtable's Find Records action in automations doesn't support dynamic date comparisons (e.g., "Date Recorded < trigger record's Date Recorded"). This means I can't filter to only link previous records—it would link to all records including future ones.I've considered:Manual linking (works but not scalable) MIN/MAX rollup pattern with formula logic (works but still requires the linking step first) External tools like Make.com or scripting (viable but checking if there's a native solution first)Has anyone solved this elegantly within Airtable?
