Hi! I’m a first-time poster here. I hope the below makes sense. Here goes.I’m a Marketing Coordinator and we have a team of 6. I am redesigning our Airtable base, so that it aligns with best practices and utilises the functions within Airtable more efficiently. Currently everyone works directly from tables, with no interfaces or automations. I have a fairly good understanding of Airtable and it’s capabilities. Our team has deliverables associated with multiple departments and with many external partners. I am starting from scratch, building workflows and the likes, having inherited the Airtable space.Departments include:Product Sales Partnerships (including events) Customer Service RetailRequests include tasks for:Social Content eCommerce Web and SEO Photography and videography Print and digital design (for catalogues, sales conferences, specialty customer product promos, website, etc.) Photo and video processing, editing and creationMy question is; would it be suitable to have all tab

I have three Tables. - Commit Items, Invoice Header, and Invoice Detail. Lets assume that For Commit No ACB001 there are 4 Records in Commit Items Table with many records for other Commit Nos.. When the invoice is received for Commit No ABC001 and entered on Invoice Header table with Invoice No and Commit No ABC001, I would like automation to grab four records from Commit Items table and create those 4 records + Invoice number in Invoice Detail table. How do I achieve this? Just a reminder, I am new to AirTable.

I’ve imported several tables into AT. They each had a day field (no time element). I just noticed all the dates are +1 day from what they should be. How is this even possible?More importantly, how do I fix it?

Hi guys,I’m building a CRM within Airtable and need to create a two-way sync between Airtable and Google Calendar so if an event is created/updated/deleted in one, it automatically updates in the other. This is the current setup I have: A separate ‘Meetings’ table for events created within Airtable and a separate table that’s integrated with the Google Calendar (on the interface, it will all just be one calendar). I am trying to create an “Update Record” automation so if an event is updated in Airtable, it updates in Google Calendar but I’m running into some issues and with the vice-versa automation. The trigger runs successfully but the action always fails:Always the same error processing the actionHas anyone done a two-way sync before and can please shed some light on how to achieve this? Thank you!

Hello.I'm a bit confused about the different types of extensions in Airtable and can't quite figure out which one makes sense for my use case. I already know how to solve this inside a specific base using older approaches, but now I want something more reusable across different bases and aligned with the newer tools.Previously, there were:Airtable Scripting Extensions - easy to reuse by copy-pasting code, but a bit too limited in terms of interactivity. Airtable Extensions (Blocks) - can be built from examples, require Node, and can be distributed across bases via remotes and CLI.Now we have:Custom extensions, available viahttps://airtable.com/create/extensions Interface Extensions, which can be created via prompt.I have two tasks where I’m not sure what’s the right approach. The docs don’t help much because I’m not even sure which section I should be reading.a) Fairly simple: select a table, pick a text field, and run a few transformations (truncate, capitalize, etc.).Ideally, I’d lik

In the interface I have a list with two linked levels. Level 2 (parent) only has a handful of records. One of the records in Level 2 has over 4000 Level1 (child) records. When I open that parent record to vie the child records it is extremely slow and the slowness makes the application largely non responsive - until I move to a different parent record or some other table in the interface.  If I simply open another list in the interface with only the one child table, all 4500 records open pretty much instantly. What's the best way to handle this?

This question has probably already been answered… but I haven’t managed to find it.So here it goes.I’m trying to implement a work control system for a nursing home. Many of the staff only need to view their tasks and record certain information in a couple of processes.I’ve designed a form for this purpose. On the other hand, the Interface contains multiple administrative views and queries.Currently, we only have one editor user and one viewer user.Unfortunately, I can’t get the staff to have access only to creating, editing, and viewing their own tasks.I’ve tried embeds, iframes, HTML… in many different ways, and nothing works. Airtable always limits me.Am I doing something wrong?Do I necessarily have to pay for additional users?Would that give me another interface?Would Fillout (as suggested by Scott Rose @ScottWorld) be the solution?I don’t want to use tools like Make or n8n.Thanks in advance.Natxo Rodríguez

Hi guys,I have been trying to format my gmail body using html tags but i am not getting my desired output. The formatting looks awfl when sent to customer. Extra spaces have been added above & below the text despite setting the padding to 0. Here’s the formatting i have been using: <table role="presentation" width="100%" border="0" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0"><tr><td align="center" style="padding:0;background-color:#ffffff;">  <table role="presentation" width="100%" border="0" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" style="max-width:520px;">   <tr><td style="padding:0px 16px 14px 16px;"><span style="font-family:Georgia,serif;font-size:10px;color:#aaaaaa;letter-spacing:4px;text-transform:uppercase;">Faisal Silk  ·  Order Update</span></td></tr>   <tr><td style="padding:0 16px 0 32px;"><span style="font-family:Arial,sans-serif;font-size:9px;color:#aaaaaa;letter-spacing:2px;text-transfo

In a rich-text enabled long text I can use [] to create a check list.Trying to create a checklist by default in an automation using the same function but it doesn’t seem to work. Is there anything different I need to do if this is a capability? If not i can look into adding it to a script that I have earlier in the automation.

Hi,How can I change which fields are visible in the “Click to see underlying records” drill-down in an interface dashboard pivot table?Automatically I get “sum” and “link to cost centers” but I’d need to show something else.  Airtable instructions claim that you should be able to do it, but I just can’t see where to do it. “Underlying record detailsIn the User actions section of a dashboard visualization there is the option to allow end users to "Click to see underlying data" from the interface page. This option is per-visualization, meaning you as a builder have the granularity to toggle this on for individual dashboard insights. The option to turn this feature on can also be enabled by double-clicking on a visualization on the canvas. The drill-down will only show the underlying records associated with the visualization and builders can configure: Visible fields Default sort Record details for the records shown Record details for foreign fields (This is available by clicking on

I’m an executive assistant who manages a “phone sheet” for an individual in the entertainment industry for someone who “rolls calls.” For those not familiar, essentially I call on the behalf of my boss and then keep a running log of all the outgoing calls placed but not answered, incoming calls not answered, reminders for calls to make at a later date, and then mark completed/connected calls. I use a program called “Phoneslate” that I’m attempting to make a dupe on Airtable. Here’s my question: I would like to be able to enter in someone, let’s say “John Smith,” and then have a column where I can select any of the phone numbers linked on the record. As you can see in the example photos, I would like to add a column between the lookup “Company (from Person)” and “Notes”, where it’ll auto-pop up the 4 different phone number columns and I can select one of the linked numbers. I don’t need all of the numbers listed to appear in the grid, just the one that I would select as the best number

This thing is extremely annoying and interferes with editing the table. The only way I’ve found to disable it is to turn off Omni for the entire base. Is there any simpler way?

Hi,I need to pad a number to a fixed amount of digits (8), i.e. prepend with leading zeros when the significant number is less than 8.This is easy enough to do for integers with a substitute formula:RIGHT("00000000" & {Test SUM},8)However, in my scenario I have decimals and that doesn’t work, since a number 10.00 will count as 2 digits while 10.11 counts as four digits. Hence the padding will be off.I can replace the decimal character for the decimals with something else than .00, but the .00 ones still counts as two digits shorter.SUBSTITUTE( RIGHT("00000000" & {Test SUM},8), ".", "")The above substitute/right formula gives this result. The .45 decimal number is otherwise right but has one leading zero too little. The .00 number is off by two positions to the right (should be 00012300). I tried to come up with a way to treat the integer part and the decimal part separately, but could not find a way with LEN/MID/LEFT/RIGHT to split up 123 and 00 to two separate parts. The de

Hi,It seems that the Google Calendar: Create Event requires a hard coded (chosen) calendar to place an event in. We have used a shared calendar for this, but it gets somewhat messy.Hence, would it somehow be possible to have the event placed in a dynamically chosen calendar? Either <current user> or somehow derived based on a variable (e-mail addresse for example)?Rgds,Björn

Hello, I have a workflow which includes repetitive data input. Simple copy-paste have some drawbacks.I have a table called Orders. Each row is one order which includes product, quantity etc. Each order requires multiple tasks to complete and there is a linked table for that called Order tasks. Orders come in patches with different products but every product tasks are very similar. I would like to configure first order tasks and then copy it to the rest of the orders. The problem is that then there are only first few tasks which are linked to ALL of the orders. Each order should have their own set of rows in Order tasks table.I have tried multiple workarounds but I haven’t found working solution. For example, duplicating rows in Order tasks table makes it very tedious to relink to correct row in Order table. I have also configured “allow linking to multiple records” but it seems to have no effect when copying and still links to multiple records even when not allowed. Is there some kind o

Hi, EDUsers,My name’s Sean---I’m the fellowships/scholarships advisor at the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire. I’m reaching out to all of you Airtable EDU experts with a question about accessibility and WCAG compliance. Some background: I use Airtable for awards/fellowships tracking, on the back end to automate student contact points, and on the front end via a public database of award opportunities students can explore. I’m a one-man team charged with advising several thousand students, so Airtable has been crucial to my scaling up my capacity for advising. My state-funded, public university has scrambled over the past year to update our student- and public-facing resources to WCAG 2.1 standards, in line with the latest Title II digital accessibility rules. For most offices, this has meant new PDFs, new website content, different PowerPoints, and so on. For me, this has meant figuring out how to make the external components of Airtable (forms and interfaces, especially) digitally acce

When I created my Airtable Community/Academy accounts forever ago, I set them up with my work email because that was my only Airtable login at the time. I’m now leaving this current position and want to transition my logins to an email account that will still be accessible (which is also tied to my personal Airtable account). I can’t seem to find a spot in the Settings or Profile where this can be changed--am I missing something, or do I need to go to Airtable support directly?

Hello,I am new to junction tables and have pretty much zero scripting experience, so bear with me.I am trying to create a breakdown of call sheets for group shoots and create individual “shifts” in a junction table. The goal is to be able to adjust start and end times for those linked in the shoots and to be able to create a more comprehensive reporting interface to track hours and OT by multiple criteria.I cannot show the actual base, but have created a basic example of the structure and result of Airtable’s junction table extension.Client tab:Franchise: Franchises have assigned POCs for internal notifications. This could include executive roles/higher level visibility. Would not include anyone linked in “Shoots”Assets: Linked directly to Editors, Creative Directors, and Producers. Shoots: Only linked directly to Directors, Camera Techs, and Actors.Settings for Junction Table Extension: Result - Shifts (Junction Table)  As you can see, it is pulling in combinations for Producers, Edit

I’m using the same automation with the same attachments, but it only runs a few times within about 5 minutes and then starts failing repeatedly for 20-30 minutes.I’m on a Business plan and have more than enough AI credits, so I don’t think it’s a usage limit issue. Does anyone know what might be causing this behavior?

I just want to highlight or select 20 views or more at a time and delete them when we move from one school term to the next or one year to the next. Is there now a way to do this? There are some posts about this from years ago ...

I want to use the Claude - Airtable connector in my team which allows them to create records from within claude. I want to make sure that when they are creating a record, for eg. a Task, they are asked to give all the information that is required for my processes. I don’t see how I can set the SOP when allowing them to create/edit from claude.

Hi everyone,I had a great time at Buildathon NYC! Really enjoyed meeting so many of you. It was awesome connecting with such a talented and friendly community!During the event, while tackling different challenges, I had the opportunity to play around with the "Image Generation" field agent. It sparked a bunch of ideas for how we could use it in projects at my organization. Now that I am back (after rough flights)! I have enabled all AI models and AI Labs features in our Airtable workspace (we are on a Business plan). However, even though everything appears to be turned on, I am not seeing the “Generate Image” option, nor do I see any image related field agent available. Interestingly, I do see the "Video (AI Labs)" option.Am I missing a step to enable image generation? Is there a specific setting, permission, or rollout limitation I should be aware of?At this point, I am starting to feel like the AI agents do not like me 😅 During the event in NYC, around 2:30PM'ish, they suddenly stopp

I am very new to airtable so excuse me if I misunderstand some things.I am trying to use airtable to create a calendar of my bookings.I have two types of bookings. One that lasts exactly 30 minutes and one that lasts several days and start and end time are customizable.Because its a chore to pick a date and time exactly 30 minutes past the start time for my short bookings Im trying to run an automation so that anytime I create a record with no end date it will set the end date field to exactly 30 minutes past the start date.Is this possible?

Hi,I’m new to airtable and I try to make a script triggered from a button field. I need to get the selected record linked to the button clicked but could not find how to achieve this.I can’t believe there is no way to get the current record id from the script, what am I missing? Thanks.

We use Airtable Interface to match caregivers to clients based on required skills such as Alzheimer’s care, hospice experience, and Hoyer lift. Multi-select fields are the best structure for this type of data because they are clean, scalable, and easy for our team to maintain. In the Interface, we use multi-select dropdowns such as “Skills and Experience” to narrow down caregivers. However, when selecting multiple values in the dropdown, the behavior uses OR logic instead of AND.For example, if we select both “Alzheimer’s Care” and “Hospice Experience,” the results show caregivers who have either skill, not those who have both.In real workflows, we often need to find caregivers who meet multiple required criteria at the same time, such as Alzheimer’s care and hospice. The current dropdown behavior makes this difficult and not intuitive. We understand there are workarounds such as adding multiple conditions or creating helper checkbox or formula fields for each skill. However, these appro
