Hello !We have a list of contacts for each entity that we work with. Within this list of people, there are 1-3 people who are designated as authority contacts.I am trying to automate an email to send out periodic reminders to review their information. With a single auth contact, I have a working automation with links personalized to each person. This becomes harder when there are multiple auth contacts. I need the email to be sent to the group of people rather than individually. If I use a token to pull the URL value for the record, it’ll show duplicates of the URL in the email body. Anyone know of a way I can rework this or add to it to make sure that only one of the records’ values displays?

I would like to see the date instead of “5d ago”.  Is that possible?

Hi everyone! I’m currently looking for my next long-term role as an Airtable Specialist / Operations Manager.I have extensive experience working with American startups and firms, focusing on: Custom Scripting: Writing internal code to solve complex business logic. Airtable AI: Implementing native AI to supercharge manual workflows. Advanced Automations: Building seamless syncs between Airtable and the rest of the tech stack. I’m a big believer in "building it right the first time" so it doesn't break when you scale. I’m looking for a team that values efficiency and high-quality data architecture. If you’re hiring or need someone to own your Airtable systems, let’s chat! Reach me at dgpb27@gmail.com or send me a DM.

Jotform integration can only add new records to Airtable; it can’t update a record, correct? I have a table with a couple of hundred records (name, email, etc.) and want to send out a Jotform survey to everyone that will automatically populate each record with their answers. This is currently impossible without some third-party go-between, as far as I know. Is this not a basic function of databases, being able to update the records? If I can create a simple three-step solution in Zapier to update records from Jotform submissions instead of adding new ones is there any reason Airtable can’t do this natively? I could do it in Filemaker thirty years ago.

DescriptionWhile participating in the Let’s Play Hackathon, I encountered what appears to be an inconsistency in how Airtable Interfaces render record detail layouts across platforms. When a Record Detail layout is configured to open in Full-screen mode from a Gallery component, the record still opens as a sidesheet panel on desktop, even though the layout is explicitly configured to use full-screen.Interestingly, the same configuration works correctly on mobile devices, where the record opens in full-screen as expected. This creates inconsistent behavior between desktop and mobile environments.Because the Interface Designer provides a clear configuration option for full-screen mode, the expected behavior is that this layout preference should be respected consistently across platforms.Steps to Reproduce Create an Interface in Airtable. Add a Gallery component displaying records. Configure the Record Detail layout to open records in Full-screen mode. Open the Interface on desktop.

Hi,I’m trying to use linked records in a “When record is created” automation to create records in a repeating group, but I don’t understand how to get it to work.I googled and reviewed Airtable’s support documentation (https://support.airtable.com/docs/repeating-groups-of-automation-actions), but that was less than helpful. It confirms linked records can be used, but doesn’t open up how to do that. The background is that I want to create Invoice Header and Invoice Line Item records in separate tables based on one order record with products as linked records. First a new order triggers creating a new Invoice Header record, then this triggers creating a new line item record for each of the linked product records.(I first tried to create both the header and the line item records in one automation, but that didn’t work because one cannot have repeating groups inside a conditional step. The conditional step is required since not all orders created should trigger the automation, so there need

Hello! I’m trying to create an automation that allows me to add someone to a collaborator field without replacing any data that is already in the field. Is this possible? That is, if 3 people are already in the collaborator field and I want to add a fourth via an automation, can the fourth be added without removing the other 3 that are already in the field?

Good day everyone. I’m a newbie to Airtable/Fillout, coming from another app builder.I run a small school charter service on weekends, between schools and home towns.  My clients book their kids on the app. Currently I calculate the trip dates but I think a table with trip dates is easier to use. My problem is: The booking form needs to get the first available row from the dates table - the table has 3 columns for date home, date back to school and trips completed.(Clients book for both weekend dates at once, just selecting 1 or both dates.)In my still-current app the users table is the logon validation table and its data is accessible everywhere in the app. There the dates are calculated in columns but then also checked against long weekends dates an school term dates. A lot of columns thus. So if I can get the first Date Home and the first Date School from the TripDates table where the Completed “cell” is empty, I can get rid of the calculations. The problem obviously is that there is

I have a base that tracks work request tickets. One of the fields I initially built in was a ‘Priority’ field, with options of Low, Normal, and High. Having used this base for several months, nobody has ever selected Low and a wide majority have selected Normal, with a small handful of High.I’d like to change this field to a checkbox for High priority, and we can assume the ticket is Normal otherwise. Is there a way to change the field without losing the data that’s currently there? Can I somehow convert the ones that had selected “High” into having a checked box?

I work for a small nonprofit and am trying to build a base to track our required legal filings. I have tried generating formulas and/or automations to help create an auto updating due date field but nothing that I have found to try is working. The base has 2 tables, one with list of the required filings and one with the submissions, linked to the proper required filing. On the required filings table I have a field with the current due date, a rollup showing the most recent submission date, and a single select field for the frequency of the required filing (annual, etc). I want the current due date to update when the year in the most recent submission and the current due date match. The new due date would be based on the single select field where Annual = advance 1 year, Biennial = advance 2 years, Quinquennial = advance 5 years, and One-Time = remove the date.  For example, if our Form 990 has a current due date of May 15, 2026 and is due annually, when we add the filing listing that i

Given:Date field (that does not include time) Set to local time (EST) Set to default to the current date.Result: when within the UTC-5 window (i.e. after 7pm) the displayed date defaults to the next day. There MUST be away to make this work correctly - yes?

I’ve recently noticed an error appearing in the developer console when running a custom block. This appears to be happening both in development and when released to the base.I am running the latest versions of both the block CLI (3.0.1) and the SDK (1.19.0). As far as I can tell, these messages are displayed when writing data back to the base, for example:table.createRecordsAsync() || table.updateRecordsAsync()Any insights into why this is happening, and how I can go about fixing the error? While writes to the base are seemingly unaffected, these messages are cluttering the console log, and if not relevant, should not be emitted to begin with.

I’d like to build a base to track our produce prescription program. We have coupons with barcodes to distribute to the patients. Ideally I’d like the health worker to use a barcode scanner to scan the first coupon and the last coupon for each patient. Then I need to populate a table of all the coupons distributed within that range for each patient. I currently have a table set up for “patients” where health workers would assign the coupons. Then I have a table for “Coupons” where I’d like the records to be each coupon code distributed. Any help in how to do this would be appreciated!

This has been asked a couple of times with slightly different solutions, so seeing current thinking.I want to have an incrementing number that is specific to a group of records only. In fact I want 3. This is used to create unique names (don’t ask me what this client wants this!), but the number should increment if the record has a field set to x. So when grouped together, there is a sequential incrementation (1, 2, 3, 4,) , but others not in that group do not get that number. They would get a different increment (different field probably). My current thinking is to link the records to another table (using deep match?), identify the highest number of increment already, and then have an automation add to the new record ‘number +1’. Thoughts?

I could really use some help!I want my formula to return the correct Ship Deadline taking into consideration the time the order was submitted. If it came in before 4:00 pm on a weekday, it needs to ship the next day. If it came in after 4:00 pm on a weekday, it needs to ship in 2 weekdays. This screenshot shows that order 5014021 came in at 5:15 pm correctly shows it needs to ship 2 weekdays later. But for some reason, order 5014020 that came in at 7:15 pm on the same date is showing it needs to ship in 3 days instead.I can’t for the life of me figure out what I am doing wrong. Formulas are not my strong suit so I use AI to help write them. Any advice here would be very much appreciated. It will be so awesome if I can get this to work with anyone’s help!My formula:IF({Store Name} = "Retail",IF(OR(WEEKDAY({Created (DEV)}) = 6, WEEKDAY({Created (DEV)}) = 0),IF(WEEKDAY({Created (DEV)}) = 6,WORKDAY({Created (DEV)}, 1),WORKDAY({Created (DEV)}, 2)),IF(VALUE(DATETIME_FORMAT({Created (DEV)}, "H

Hello all.I’m wanting to run an automation that will create x number of new records in a table, where x is a number entered into a field (on another table). So someone wants 5 new records, the enter 5 into the field, the automation runs 5 times.I’ve seen this: But not entirely sure I understand how to implement this!Help muchly appreciated.

Hi, I am looking for help with dates and quarters - we have several date fields across multiple tables that currently use each a LONG formula to calculate fiscal quarters (with specific start and end dates, not just first/last day of the month). I am hoping to find a way to use a table with start/end dates to populate the quarter fields in these other tables. I don’t want to use linked records, I think that would be too difficult to manage given our volume of data. I don’t think I can do it with a formula because I need information from separate tables. Is there a way to do this with an automation? Something like...when X date field is updated, find value from Y table? Thanks for your advice!

Hi,M problem is that [object Object] is displayed when trying to view the data from one row from one  column instead of text. The issue arises only on one new column on my table. The error comes via a connected application called Fillout, which I assume uses the standard Airtable API’s.Initially I thought it was taking time for the Airtable API interface to be updated. Then I thought I had better refresh the fields in the ‘connected’ to Airtable view on Fillout. But here I am days later without any clue as to what is still wrong. Before you ask, Fillout is happily returning data from a Long Text field in the exact same base and table. One of our team added this new AI auto-generated text field and this is the only field with this problem. The field editor permissions are the same ‘Editor and up’ on both old and new fields. Both fields are a singleton ‘Lookup’ type to the same parent table.I started a totally new form in Fillout and added both the old (not AI) and the new (AI) text fiel

Hi, I’m another newbie that’s too inexperienced with Airtable to find what I need in this forum. I have tried and tried to solve a problem I have but with no success so I wonder if anyone who knows Airtable well could help me please?I have managed to set up 1 master table and 3 other tables that have data related to the master table. All tables have a common record. I am trying to link the tables, as you would do for example in a relational database like Micrsoft Access, in order to create a view where for each line of data I choose/expand in the master table, the related data from the other 3 tables is also displayed. I just can’t get this to workI suppose the problem might be in the way I have tried to link the tables together? If anyone could spell out in very simple terms what I need to do to sort this out, I’d be very grateful. Thanks

I have an Automation that sends an email when conditions are met that includes Update Record link for Fillout. However the link is emailed as a text field - e.g.  https://forms.fillout.com/t/zzzz?id=xxxxHow do I modify so it sends as a clickable link.I have tried  "<a href='" & {Your Formula URL} & "'>Open link</a>"  and it did not work.

Hi everyone 👋I’m trying to use Automations → “Generate structured data” to extract structured data from a file that’s attached to a record (e.g., CSV / PDF / image). My automation is simple: When a form is submitted → Generate structured data. The confusing part: when I select the Attachments field as the input, Airtable only lets me choose attachment properties like URL / Filename / Size / Type / Attachment Viewer URL / Expiring Download URL (see screenshot). It’s not clear to me whether the model can actually read the file contents, or if it can only see metadata/links.My questions: Is it possible for “Generate structured data” to ingest an attachment and parse its contents (e.g., read a CSV and output a JSON array)? If yes, what’s the correct input to pass: Expiring Download URL or Attachment Viewer URL (or something else)? Does this only work with “Allow AI to access the Internet” enabled, or is there a limitation where it can’t fetch files at all? If it’s not possible direct

We use Airtable to manage trailer rentals and insurance compliance. Customers periodically upload updated Certificates of Insurance (COIs), and we need to retain all past COIs for audit and compliance purposes. The issue is that Airtable automations overwrite attachment fields when updating records. When a new COI is uploaded, it replaces the previous file, which causes us to lose historical documents. What we want is for a “Misc Attachments” field to act as an archive, where: Any new file added to the COI field is copied into Misc Attachments Existing files in Misc Attachments are preserved No previously uploaded documents are deleted Requirements: Both fields are attachment fields in the same table The process should be automatic (triggered when a COI is added) The archive must be append-only (no overwriting) Preferably no third-party tools We are currently exploring a scripting automation that: Pulls existing attachments from the archive field Appends new COI files Writ

I have a database that is used to record the status change of projects and I need help with my automation. Currently I have an automation set up that is triggered when a record is updated (watching the “status” field); then it creates a record on my Change Log Table. I want it to record the “old” status and the “new” status in a field, along with the date the change was made and the user who made it. I am having trouble setting this up, can anyone help? Thanks in advance!

We use Airtable heavily with parent --> child relationships and are trying to standardize our workflows using record templates, especially within Interfaces while reducing the amount of automations used in this aspect of our workflow. What we’re trying to do (high level)We want to generate groups of task records (child records) and link them to a parent record that already exists. We only ever work in interfaces so it must have a way to function for our users there.Using record templates or a native grouping feature Without relying on automations Without creating a new parent recordCurrent setupWe have many tables that act as a parent record and then one table that is the child record (tasks). Most of them have a pre- and post- step of creation, some with 3 steps where specific tasks are generated at each phase (e.g. Interest, Application, and Decision). Below is an example of 2 steps (pre-award and post-award). Pre-award tasks (works well) Parent record is created via an Interface f

I have a table of contacts that includes zip code for each contact. I want to provide a view of contacts for a given county. I can get a list of zip codes for the county, but it's too many zip codes to list each one as a separate condition on a filter.I thought about setting up a zip code table and using a linked record from the contacts table. Is there a way to create a new linked record field that links based on an existing already-populated column? There are too many records to select linked records manually.Or, is there a way to create a view with filter criteria that references another table? Thanks for any suggestions.
