Hello! Currently for a school project (Software Development and Design) I am making a game in unity complete with an online highscores leaderboard through Airtable. The leaderboard side of the project is now done but I wanted to add a replay system to the game. Much like demo files from the old doom games my replay solution is a JSON array that contains the positions and rotations of the key game objects over the lifetime of the game. The file that is generated is only about 1mb in size and such shouldnt take very long to upload if sent with the rest of my run information (such as the players username and their time) The issue I have run into is that im getting an INVALID_REQUEST_BODY error every time i try to put the entire JSON string into a Long Text feild on airtable. I beleive this may be due to the fact that it is a JSON string inside the rest of the JSON request that is sent to irtable. Is there a way to isolate the string so that airtable doesnt try and parse this data? Alterna

Hello all, We have recently implemented Airtable on our team to account for hours worked by employees. To gather the information, I created a form in which they answer at the end of every work-day to take into account the actual hours worked. These answers feed a database that groups every reply by week/employee. In the database, I created a column of “Work-day” which is the employee’s weekly hours divided by 5 business days. This way, when they answer the form, I would have the daily overtime and then it would be grouped weekly and it would give me the weekly overtime.However, the team is mainly composed by part-time workers and that’s where it becomes tricky. We don’t really enforce a fixed start/finish hour, so a person who has a contract of 18 hours/week, may work only 2 days one week and then 5 days the next week, picture below.  What I would like for it to do, and that I wasn’t able to, is to calculate how much overtime (or time they didn’t work) they are doing per week, based of

I run a small non-profit and we use Airtable to track all of our donors/volunteers/etc. I want to do address labels for a mailing. We currently have the columns set up as First Name, Spouse Name, Last Name, Street Address, City, State, Zip. Is there an easy way to print labels from Airtable? If the best way is to export, then how do I get around that my columns are too specific (ie I need First, Spouse, Last name to be one line, and City, State, Zip to be one line). Thanks!

Hello everyone,I’ve created an Airtable to help manage pre-production workflows and am struggling to get what I think is a simple automation running; I’d like that when a record is assigned a contact person (The “Assigned?” field is “Yes”) and given an “Assignee” to carry out this task, that the status of that record be updated in the “Interviewees” table to “Contact Assigned.” This is the automation I’ve set up so far but no matter what I do, I keep getting the “Record does not exist” error.I can’t get it to update the status of the record within the “Interviewees” table. Now I’m wondering the problem lies in the fact that the record name or interviewee name is not the primary field in the ‘Interviewee contact status” table, but you can’t make a primary field a linked record. Is there any way to get around that or is that not the problem at all? Is this an automation problem or a table infrastructure problem? Thank you!

I’m looking at building an interface to streamline inputting some information but before I think about redesigning my current database I just want to check if it’s possible to create an interface that would allow information to be updated across multiple tables?Even more complicated, would it be possible for the interface to react live to automations? To try to give a bit of context I want to have a contract table where the top line contract information is kept - as part of this an automation creates different versions of a product linked to that contract in an editions table…Could an interface handle me entering the contract detail and then have the editions appear ready to be edited?  

I just added a new user as Portal Editor in a portal interface. Let’s call them {USERNAME}After they used the portal, Airtable upgraded their seat to Editor.(I am the only admin, and I know this upgrade was not done by me, so it was done by Airtable) The Admin panel lists the upgrade event as, “{USERNAME} made edits to Interface {INTERFACE}"Now, I know that {USERNAME} didn’t actually edit the interface, because they don’t have base access. And I know that portal editors are *supposed* to be able to change fields via the interface.So what the heck does the upgrade event “{USERNAME} made edits to Interface {INTERFACE}" mean? Automation in AirtableI have a Donations table with the field Donor that contains a Single Line Text field with the donor name in it. I have a Summary table that is linked back to the Donations table using the Link Another Record filed with Allow Linking to Multiple Records to be selected. The linked field in the Summary table has a list of Donors from the Donations table. I want to automate the insertion of a new Donor name into the linked field in the summary table when I create a new record in the Donations table.It seems it should be straight froward but I keep running into a problem with figuring out what to select in the Actions section.Trigger = When a record is createdIn Actions:I choose Update Record I Put in a description so I don’t forget whY I did this. Action will run Always Under Table I choose summary table Under Record ID I copied the record id from the table from formula in table. When, how, and what is not clear at all to me yet, so I wanted to open up the discussion early on to make sure this is really community led.Brainstorming:Format: Virtual (for sure). Synchronous (everyone builds during a given time frame) or asynchronous (projects submitted over a few weeks). Themes: Specific theme (e.g. procurement, marketing ops, nonprofits, etc.), or leave it totally open to “build whatever you enjoy”? Why I think this could be fun: A chance to show off creativity. A way to learn from each other’s builds. An opportunity to meet new peers. A reason to push Airtable to its limits in unusual or inspiring ways (different to the day-to-day work we do for our clients or within our organizations).  Would love to get some input from the usual suspects here, and from any other Airtable enthusiast!​@Scott

I’m wondering how or if a Make or Zapier sync model can detect changes on field types that can’t trigger the ‘last modified’ field that the sync is based on. If no editable fields on the record are ever changed, would the sync detect changes on a rollup field?What’s a best practice way to achieve this?

Hello all, I'm looking for some help with a dynamic date filtering challenge in automations.I have a Social Media Metrics table where each record needs to link to all previous records for the same Contact/Platform combination, but only where Date Recorded is before the current record's date.The challenge: Airtable's Find Records action in automations doesn't support dynamic date comparisons (e.g., "Date Recorded < trigger record's Date Recorded"). This means I can't filter to only link previous records—it would link to all records including future ones.I've considered:Manual linking (works but not scalable) MIN/MAX rollup pattern with formula logic (works but still requires the linking step first) External tools like Make.com or scripting (viable but checking if there's a native solution first)Has anyone solved this elegantly within Airtable? Hello all,I’d like to configure my Airtable so that when the category for a record is labeled ‘Uncategorized’ it automatically triggers a certain ‘Status’ label. I’ve been following this tutorial: https://support.airtable.com/docs/repeating-groups-of-automation-actionsBut I get stuck when I reach the last step for the action as I’m not sure what to put in ‘record ID.’ Every time I run it, it updates the same record, but I want it to search for all records that have been labeled ‘Uncategorized’ and update their status. How do I do this? Thank you! 

Creating a field agent to do a simple task. I want it to find some text in a document and copy it out. It’s doing great on the “finding” but being a bit too creative with the “copying”. Is there any way to set temperature for the model to 0? 

As of today, our airtable automations that react to action triggers of certain fields in not really large tables are incredibly slow and sometimes freeze, so we have to disable and re-enable the automation.In addition, navigation in the backend is tedious and slow.Our tables have a very manageable size, the largest tables have around 1500 rows.Since we also use Softr as a UI, we also notice very poor performance here.What can we do?Edit: To make the severity a little bit clearer: Action Trigger was set at 2:54 pm and the automation was finished on 3:49pm! It simple copies a row from Table A to Table B!

I assumed this was because I had reached one year of usage, so I proceeded with the payment of the requested USD 240.However, after logging into my account, all my databases disappeared. I can no longer access any of my bases, and I would like to know how I can recover them or regain access.Last year, I paid for Airtable with my personal email/account, and this year I made the payment using my professional email/account. Hello everyone,In short, I am trying to use an automation to combine multiple single select linked fields into a single multi select linked record.I have two bases: projects and team. Depending on the complexity and size of the project, there may be 5-15 resources assigned. We assign these resources through their own single select linked field so that we can utilize the timeline/utilization function. This makes doing things for the entire team complicated - such as creating a distribution list for the team members -  as we have to create a lookup field for each resource's email, another field to combine them, and another field to format it. I thought a simple automation could address this issue. It is pretty simple: when one of the 15 single select linked records is updated, it updates the multi select "team" field with all the assigned resources. I am running into two issues: 1)If I don't put a separator, then the multi select merges them all together (Instead of the field h

Is there any way to control the image sizes I get served from an Airtable Attachment field via API? My API docs tell me I can access “thumbnails” in sizes “small” (width 72 on one image), “large” (width 1024 on one image) and “full” (3000 on one image)… But… “full” is not a thumbnail at all, it’s the source image. “large” is too large. “small” is just too small. It feels like there’s a missing middle size here. But it’s not supplied. Is there any way to constrain the size of an output image?

I have an automation that 1st Finds Records from a table then Inserts the Found Grid into an Email. I have static Emails and also want to Use Emails from the Found Records.  If all the Found Records Emails match is there a way to just add 1 instead of it putting in multiple identical Emails in the To:I imagine maybe a script but do not know how to write those. Bull

Hi all!I've created an automated email and am trying to include our company logo as a footer.The code I've used in the input is: <img width="200" height="50" src="https://www.the-page.co.uk/psoostoo/2022/05/The-Page-LOGO-2048x486.png">In the preview, this works perfectly (see image), but when I ran a test to my own email address, the image didn't render and I just saw a grey box (see other image).Any idea on what I'm doing wrong or what the issue may be?Thanks!

I'm trying to set up an automated email to email our clients with a feedback form (not an Airtable form, we use a different platform). The feedback form needs to be tailored to each individual, so I've added a field for the link for each record. In the automated email, I'm using the "choose data from" tool to insert the form url from the record. However, when I generate the preview, there is nothing left. I've attached screen shots of the draft email vs the preview. How do I make the link appear in the email??
